Dark Souls II |OT2| Prepare to Vengarl

So, people amass millions of souls just playing PVP all day, or something? I don't understand how in this game, and the last I see people's vids on YouTube with like 3,786,901 souls.

So on my new character, I've been trying to pull Lucatiel's sorry ass through. Messed up and forgot to summon her for
The smelter demon and rotten
and so I use a bonfire astectic in
No Man's Wharf
. Now, after a few tries I get the boss... But lucatiel dies at the same exact time. Did I screw up?

So furthermore to a post I made a while back, about quitting right after starting NG+ and some oddness, I finished another playthrough and tried again to experiment. To start, all NPCs stay in Majula, but have dialogue as if it's the first time meeting them. The actual world resets, which gave the weird situation of Lenigrast being in his shop, but with the door locked again! After a while I died, which sends you to Things Betwixt and resets everything fully (I didn't light any bonfires). All iron chests reset after the initial quit and return, but if you open them and then die so everything resets properly, they reset again! Also, I paid
to have the ladder put into the pit, and this stayed even after a reset.
Unfortunately I died not long after exploring so I don't know what else might happen, so feel free to try it..

Well yeah I mean if your build is done so you're not spending on levels anymore, there's only so many arrows and poison throwing knives to buy, adds up pretty quick. I found myself running around pretty casually with over 100,000 and I just started NG+; can only imagine NG+++ or lots and lots of PvP, etc.

Does Sun Medal progress carry over to the next game cycle?

Well, someone said that covenant rank carries over so I assume so. 100 hours and I'm still cleaning thing s up in my first play through lol. Love this game.

Actually just finished the Bernhart achievement. So only have the spells left. Will probably go to NG+ soon.

I noticed that too, have you tried the ring that draws aggro?
I did on the Rotten, but was watching an ENB video yesterday where he said he'd tested it and that it had no effect for this purpose(?)

She's also a bit dim herself. I had her walk off the path into the lava in Iron Keep and almost do the same thing in Sinner's Rise, I was idle waiting for a human summon and had to run towards the boss door to stop her AI from spazing out near the edge of the water!

I'm 106 hours in and still on the first cycle, but getting bored of farming Sun Medals.

Really? Ok. Out of all the arbitrary things in the game that is what i deprived you of? Im sorry.

I knew about it already, but if you really told someone point blank the answer when they explicitly asked for a hint, just because you think the puzzle is dumb, you could have said "the solution is stupid so here's the answer:
here's the answer
" instead of just saying the answer.

It's the principle of the thing. Why even bother putting it in spoiler tags if you're going to do that?

I just naturally help people out as I go and collect the medals - it's not too bad. Plus it's fun fighting bosses.

Question for you guys: Do I have to collect the
Giant Souls to weaken Vendrick
in NG+

I finally managed to get Rank 2 in Blue Sentinels after quite some pvp, I could definitely notice the new, larger blue aura when invading. I managed to invade some caster who was SL 235 despite me only being SL140, I learned it after some friendly PSN messaging.

Pvp sure is nice. I can't wait to try the Defender Greatsword now, the S scaling in Lightning is delicious.

Penises

I'm really liking the mace, currently have it at +7, is there a boss weapon that can turn my mace into? Liking the strength scaling on it, plus the feel to it.

I may have missed something. Why do people talk about trying to save Lucatiel? Is there a consequence to letting her get vanquished?
You get her trophy after she survives 3 out of 4 boss fights she's available for. But she dies easily, either to the bosses or on the way to them due to shitty AI/pathfinding.

So I beat
Darklurker
and I think the fight glitched. Before he split in two he sort of got stun locked or something (not a poise break). Has this happened to anyone else?

Ugg I have no idea where to go after getting the king ring? I can't do anything with those tree statues in fall in giants. Help

Go to the forked road in Shaded Woods. One of those paths(I think the leftmost one) lead to a door.

I'm in need of help.

I've opened the path to the Belfry Gargoyles. I've also opened the path to The Lost Sinner. I can't beat either of them. I'm undead, totally out of human effigies, and don't think there's any way I can handle either boss on my own. I'm just getting weaker with every failed attempt.

What to do? I've resigned to just exploring The Gutter as that's the only place I think I have left to explore unless I kill those bosses. Any tips? If I could just turn human again, I think I could rock the Sinner....

Did you ever kill the old dragonslayer dude in the castle? There is a tower shield after him with 100% dmg reduction which has helped me ever since.

I'm such an ass. lol. I invaded a few people in
The Chasm of Old
. Does make it slightly harder when NPC automatically target you if you get to close. 1st one I killed off, 2nd I got killed by the NPC, 3rd I got sent back home from the host. Apparently you can do this here? Well, sin for him I guess. 4th I won against a shield guy.

I sold it to Gavlan because my build doesn't really lend itself toward that. I'm STR/DEX heavy, but wearing Falcon Armor +2 with Broadsword + 5 as my main equipment. I'm trying to stay agile, but keep a lot of different physical weapons open for use. Not using any magic at all just yet either.

The dogs in Bastille drop Effigies occasionally. You might equip your best item-find gear (like the
Merchant's Hat
) and try farming them for the effigy you need.

Co-op will also occasionally restore your humanity. For now it's unreliable but the upcoming patch will fix that.

Aside - anyone have a ridiculous about of trouble with U
ndead
Cr
ypt
?
There's a section where you drop down after you fight the dual shield-wielding guys, and I can't imagine how you're supposed to survive it. Is it actually possible to find the bell ringing guys before they start doing their thing? Surviving that many caster ghosts at a time is nuts.

You can make things easier by destroying the statues from where the ghosts appear, those stay destroyed even if you die, so you can do it little by little.

Man I entirely screwed over this character for new game plus with bonfire ascetics... But
Lucatie
l is for sure saved now.

The lag is making melee pvp hilarious. I just saw the host swing his great club into the ground and me being 3 body lengths away fall flat onto the floor.
Also I'm really noticing the importance of having a little poise since I'm swinging and ultragreatsword with almost none. I get poked out of stuff that I should be able to land.

Make sure to have cross region options off for PvP. PvE its fine, but fighting other people is a nightmare with it on for me.

So yeah, after looking at Harvest Valley again, there's no way Iron Keep can be geographically correct. It would just be floating in the sky on nothing.

I think it's supposed to be in a volcano, but that elevator throws a lot of things off. The geography in this game is way more off than DS1.

Weird.. How far are you into the game? You can get the +1 in NG mid-way I think. Forget where though.

Guess what I am an IDIOT:

I thought, what if it's in the item box because when I got it I didn't know +1 was an upgrade. Sure enough it was in there. Damn, that's stupid. So now everyone can laugh at me lol.

Also, I heard the
Sentinels in Vendrick's castle
stop respawning after 1.03. Is that true?

I accidentally killed
Pate
in the forest. I thought he was another fake out hollow and attacked him. Did I screw anything up later in the game?

Kinda curious about this as well. I still have the 4 from my first run.
If you get 8 souls will he get even weaker?
