So you intentionally spoil something for someone who explicitly asks not to be spoiled with your only excuse being that you don't give a shit and then respond with that to someone legitimately pointing out how shitty you are being?

I guess. Youre right. I dunno... um.. Praise the sun

I admit i've been Vengarling for a long time. Can anyone post me their favorite armors or armor combination. Doesnt have to be very good. Im just trying to look fancy. Thanks fashion souls gaf

getting summoned in the
belfry covenant only to instantly be sent back to your game because the person died is SO ANNOYING
looooaaaaaddddiiiiiinnnnggggggggggggg

alright, i can't find anything.
what dead trees?!

Go to Cardinal bonfire, go through the hole on the left, take another left, go down the ladder, go up to the turtle dude ahead, but take a right before him, then go straight ahead to the creepy tree.

That's 1/3 you can interact with.

My Str/faith build is currently wearing the Heide Chainmail, Throne Watcher Gauntlets, White Priest Headpiece, and White Priest Skirt. Looks really boss. Wish I had PC version so I could share a not-shitty screenshot.

I was well over 100 on my first playthrough. I left my system running for days at a time, though.

I'm just getting frustrated at how others talk about this apparent direction the game has (this is the first area, then you go here then here) when I see so very little of that, getting stuck hours at a time. Some have finished it in like 45 or 50 hours.

I never really got stuck until I had to figure out how to get to
Drangleic
.

Do you even need the Giant souls to beat the game?

After getting the King's Ring you can take a left at Drangleic Castle's first bonfire,
and go to the next area to fight the final boss
.

I agree. There are parts, especially in the beginning where you can feel the direction being pointed out. But a little more than halfway through, it's pure Dark Souls confusion when it comes to the next place to go.

Just got to the Shrine of Amana. So how much do I have left to go? It feels like a little less than a third left. I'm still enjoying it but some areas just make me want to give up on it for now especially since i'm running low on human effigy and haven't found any in a while.

Use your
Ring of Soul Protection
more often. This will save you alot of Human Effigies. Because if you die
the ring breaks but can be repaired for only 3000 souls
. You should have one by now! With this I have still >30 human effigies and I have already passed the area you are in.

To the bolded: good lord.

It's not too difficult to make very very annoying avelyn PvP build.
You'll need to be able to cast the hex that stops all casting.
Wear havel's set which will let you tank most projectiles.
Now power stance your lightning/magic avelyns with lightning/magic bolts.
I bumped into someone doing that in the bell tower, it was incredibly annoying.

you need
Giant Lord soul
to get to last boss. before that, it's just the
Throne Watcher and Defender
in the same room. correct me if i'm wrong.

Oh OK.

Another question, is there any point to the Shrine of Winter? It seems pointless. I don't know why it's called "of Winter" either. There are no snow areas in this game :x

Ok... how do you kill
the Darklurker
as a melee/pyro? As soon as he splits, I get ganked...

Just burn him down with fire. Work him over with regular fire spells and save Swathe for when the split happens, if it gets that far at all.

Alternatively, just melee him until he splits, then finish him with a flame swathe (if you catch both forms with the blast, it's probably dead).

ok i have to know. for those who beat the game,
how did you find out you had to walk through a giant/tree after you got the mist from lady dragon?

Final boss doesn't appear there until the giant lord is dead.

Beat the (optional boss)
Darklurker
tonight. A well timed Flame Swathe made that fight pretty damn easy.

Been making a few runs at the (another optional boss)
Ancient Dragon
tonight as well. Can't seem to get the hang of the timing on his AoE attack. I've been getting destroyed every time I face him. Not sure if it's worth it or if I should just beat the game and move on to NG+.

How can you die after like ten seconds against the duo before the end boss, with 2 phantoms by your side :-/ This just happened to me three times in a row, I'm trying to farm Sunlight Medals but this will take forever, maybe I should try another boss room.

For AD, use this strategy:

http://youtu.be/BBCtplaop-U

Except just let him fly once (run quick to the direction of the fog door to avoid it) so he's at his circle's edge. From then, just follow the strategy, and if he flies, just run towards the fog door quick, then restart.

You might as well take off your armor since his flame will probably one-shot you anyway.

Chaos Storm x2 and he was dead for me lol. While he was airborn and shot laz0rs I used Flame Swathe. He was really easy actually, didn't even split.

As pure melee without pyro on the other hand....

ok i have to know. for those who beat the game,
how did you find out you had to walk through a giant/tree after you got the mist from lady dragon?
we kept a paper with all the stuff we couldn't open / collect including all King doors. Went through it, and the rest was just happening.

There were
3 kings doors. Obviously the king doors had to do with the ending. I went to the one in the forest of giants first, noticed yet another one of those dead giant/tree things, couldn't do anything with it. Went to throne of want, beat the boss there, then went through the last king's door and got the mist. Then read the item description, the mist allows you to go into the memories of things, remembered the giant tree, and went into its memory. Also remembered there were 3 other similiar trees, though oddly the one with a bonfire dedicated to it has no memories. Ended up looking up what was up with that tree with the dedicated bonfire then also found out that you can enter the dragon's memory in the Duke's Dear Freja's boss location.

Trying to beat King Vendrick and I think I know the requirements to actually inflict damage on him, but I am still not doing much damage. I'm getting close, but one screw up and he defeats me in 2 hits. Any special weapons that can hurt him worst than 115 hit points of my +5 Drangleic Sword? Well, I actually didn't defeat the
Ancient Dragon
, but I do have the
Ancient Dragon Soul
in my inventory and the
Giant Souls
. Does that make a difference?

Hmmm, I'll have to try that next time.

We'll that was a mimic. ;____;

Ah, that's a familiar feeling.

lol. Yeah I take notes for every game I play (usually RPGs). I took a lot of notes down especially for this game.

I have just cleared the Undead Crypt and got the king's Ring. I assume now I just have to go through the Door at Drangelic Castle for the end game?

I assume going to the Dragon to get the Mist to access the memories is optional?

In the
Scorpioness Najka
fight, am I the only one who noticed you can
safely avoid her burrowing attack by standing on the sunken piece of masonry?
Stands to reason that she can't burrow through solid stone. I didn't see that mentioned in the guide and every LP'er I've seen scrambles around like a chicken with their head cut off when she uses that attack.

I knew the king's ring would unlock the sealed doors previously found in FofG, Shrine of Winter, and Drangleic Castle. I didn't start exploring with that item until I had the Ash Heart, which conveniently enough let me dive into the first giant the moment I saw it. Once I got out I backtracked to the other giant corpses I remembered.

You are the first person I've seen go that route. The one you haven't defeated is usually the first one people go for, I would imagine.

It's funny you say that because I actually made it to
Sinner's Rise
before even discovering any of the alternate paths. I was probably a little under-leveled at the time but when I made it to
the bottom floor with water and saw those large lumbering freaks, I said NOPE, and got the hell out. I guess I've exhausted all other paths at this point and must now do some unfinished business.

Can someone explain this summon thing to me.
I thought you had to put your sig down to get summoned? But I just got randomly summoned.

There are a few areas in the game where other players can draw you into their worlds without putting down a summon sign. Unless you were summoned for co-op without a sign...which would be really weird.

Wow, maybe I'll try a build that incorporates Hexes next.
Do they work better with INT or FAI?

On another note, I love how some of the more iconic DaS stuff has made a reappearance. In Heide's Tower I shat myself when
Old Dragonslayer stepped up to the plate
.

It's all about powerstancing mundane avelyns with a ring of blades +2.

Could you explain what Mundane does? When I hover over it in the imbue menu it seems to have a negative affect on all my weapons. Figured it must be good for something...

It scales with the lowest stat you have. So if all of your stats are in the 20's and, say, ADP is at 5 or whatever, that 5 is what a Mundane weapon will scale with.

It's useful for Avelyns due to how crossbows innately don't scale. The bonus you get from going all 20's (with 37 str and 22 dex to powerstance, and the rest dumped into vigor) is higher than what you would get with an elemental infuse, iirc.
