Now lv 242. Took 217,000 soils to level up and sure is going up quickly. Lol. Luckily I can get that amount easily without grinding.

Focusing on ATT currently and trying to get it to 94 for max spells uses. Also my agility is now at 107 and really noticing a difference in speed.

speed in what? because agility dont improve movement speed.

Playing as a Sorcerer with a strong INT/ATT focus (and a secondary FTH focus), these Lion dudes in the woods are taking forever to bring down. I 1-2 shot everything but these guys must have a huge magical resistance.

I might finally need a bow.

It just gets a poison effect. It won't go back to +1. The number upgrade and elemental upgrade is separate.
oh, thanks. that's great. probably going for BSK +10 and +5 poison. poison seems stronger than bleed for pvp.

anyway, does anyone have some tips for these 2 trophies?

Lucatiel's Trophy -
Inherit the equipment from Lucatiel of Mirrah

Moonlight Greatsword -
Inherit Benhart of Jugo's equipment

I know what I have to do but since I'm doing them with ng+ bosses they just keep dying.

Dragonrider armor?! Does the armorer sell it just like the other boss sets? Are there any others only in NG++? I'm about to start on that.
It's sold by the guy in Iron Keep, but is really glitchy as to when it shows up. There's some kind of ruleset involved on when it gets added to his inventory that I don't think anyone understands. But some level of ng+, maybe killing smelter on that difficulty, maybe clearing drangleic castle? No idea on the exact rules.

For
Lucatiel
, do
The Rotten
and wear the red eye ring. That ring seems to have varying levels of effect on other bosses (I haven't done extensive testing or anything), but on
The Rotten
, he will 100% only target you. So just make sure
Lucatiel
is always on the opposite side of him that you're on.

Bonfire Ascetic
The Rotten
twice after the first clear for the absolute fastest means of getting that trophy.

For
Benhart,
do
Congregation (first boss at Brightstone)
. If he dies there...well...I'd say return your game because you have a defective copy. I don't think it's possible for him to die on
Congregation
unless you, the host, are just straight up not helping kill the bosses.

Bonfire Ascetic that boss as needed as well.

I've been playing through the game really slowly because I've been juggling tons of stuff. Plus me and my GF are sharing one copy so we're passing it between us every week or so.

I just beat the
Lost (last?) Sinner, which is that fight you have to do in the dark if the torches aren't lit (I've been summoned to a few instances where the room WAS lit but I don't know how to do that). It was amazing and probably my favorite boss fight so far. It was so unexpected to realize that you have to fight him in the dark, and he is strong enough to make you really, really need to know his moves if you intend to solo him (I'm trying to go through all the bosses in this game without summons). So he went through the best Souls game progression where you start off going "oh my god how am I supposed to do this" to eventually knowing every one of his moves and tells, and knowing that you can definitely beat him.

Judging by
the victory message and the way the bonfire was arranged after,
I think this was the first "big" boss that I beat in the game. Time to head out to explore other stuff.

Congrats on beating

. FYI you can light the room only if you already have the B
astille
Key, which isn't obtainable until after you beat the B
elfry
G
argoyles
.

I haven't read the spoilers, but that makes sense. I saw a lot of locked doors in that area, and
suspected the key came from somewhere else that I hadn't explored yet
. I pretty much went straight into this area after beating the
Pursuer
, and feel like I've been in the
Bastille
area forever.

I do really like the
Sinner fight's lighting mechanic
though. I also got summoned for that fight several times, and at one point I was
doing nothing but holding a lit torch and trying to stay alive so that the other two guys could see.

I feel like an idiot even considering it, but I'm really tempted to upgrade the Throne Watcher armor (at least the chest). Looks amazingly cool for my Str/Faith build, but there's also so many weapons I want to upgrade and try out.

Anyone out there use the red rust sword? Thinking about upgrading that since I have 50 strength, and just maxed out my King's ultra greatsword, that thing is a monster.
I have the Red Rust Sword maxed and I switch between that and my maxed out mace. I will also dual wield with it and a mace. I like the move set. Its pretty strong and is fast.

Can anyone recommend which infusion path to take - fire, magic on enchanted?
I will be leveling up my INT mainly from here on out. From what I'm reading online, I know what each infusion does, I am just not sure which one would give me the best damage output.

INT - 25+
STR - 20
DEX - 18

I might finally need a bow.

I'd recommend a crossbow instead. You can still aim them if you two-hand, and the two handing strength requirement change means you can use the Heavy Crossbow with only 10 strength if you two-hand it. It requires a lot less stat investment than most bow types.

I've found it pretty handy on my Sorcerer who only has 10 str / 9 dex to use a Fire Longsword.

That said, the lion guys
are pretty easy to backstab as long as you're only taking on one at a time. I'm not sure they're easy to take down with ranged attacks of any kind.

If you're going to be leveling mainly INT from now on, then it'll be a toss-up between Fire and Magic, and the determining factor will be the resistance of whatever enemy you happen to be fighting. I don't have stats on what percentage of bosses/enemies are resistant to each of those elements, so I can't be much more help than that.

Edit: I got Magic and Enchanted mixed up in the above post, so Fire or Enchanted. Actually it's still confusing. FIRE OR WHATEVER INFUSION USES FAINTSTONE.

Edit 2: Yeah, so I just went to MacDuff to clear it up once and for all and... why, From, would you make "Magic Stone" make an "Enchanted" weapon and "Faintstone" for "Magic" weapon. I can't think of a single reason it wouldn't have been fine the other way around unless there's some esoteric lore thing I'm missing.

I'm fucking done with the
Darklurker.
jesus christ fuck that boss.

oh thanks, didn't know you could do it for the same boss, nice. but I think the Rotten might bee too much on ng++ or +++ for me, it would take forever to kill.

What armor did you guys finish the game with? I went with the Looking Glass Knight Set. The helm is a little weird but I really like it overall.

huge picture

Finished NG+ with the King's Crown, Havel's Boots and Gauntlets and Lucatiel's armor.

Does anyone have info on what the latest calibrations did? I got two small updates yesterday. I did notice the Ruin Sentinels in Drangleic Castle don't respawn anymore...Didn't they respawn or did I just imagine that? O.o

I personally did NG+ and NG++ R
otten
, then did NG+ F
lexile
S
entry
. But for what it's worth, doing NG+++ R
otten
would definitely have been faster and I wish I'd done that instead. F
lexile
on NG+ is way harder and takes significantly longer to retry if you fail an attempt.

Is there any bonus to upgrading a boss weapon to +10? Not sure whether to spread the Dragon Bones around, or pump them all into 2 or 3 weapons.

Also, with the way boss weapons work now, is there any particular reason to upgrade a normal weapon to +10, other than the incremental stat increases?

I hate the way these Gyrm Boots look, but they're the best balance of weight and defense that I've found so far :(

How do you get Alva armor and Glass Knight armor?

You can buy the Alva Armor from Maughlin after spending a certain amount of souls in his shop. I think it's like 16k souls or something like that. Same goes for Boss armors.

Boss weapons only go to +5. You should just concentrate on one first though. Dragon Bones aren't very common until a later area.

Say that to my Dual Poison Manslayers and if those don't work...I have a bow and a ton of poison arrows. My whole body is poison.

Has anyone managed to roll through Wrath of the Gods in PVP?

Nope, It just stays active for too long for me. I can do my roll when it's casted and all but as soon as I get out I still get hit. That's with 30 ADP. Still don't know if that does anything to i-frames or not but if it does it's probably still very little.

My best bet has been blocking it so far.

Grats.

lol, I meant that I still didn't kill him and wasted a lot of stuff trying to. so yeah, fuck him, I'm done trying.

anyway ok, I'll try to do the Rotten 3 times. for the other trophy is there a shortcut to the Congregation or do I have to do that part of the dungeon all the time? I also think that I should summon him after I clear all the enemies.

I noticed that my fast travel menu now displays all areas I have yet to discover, and all bonfires I have yet to find (with ??? as their name). That definitely wasn't the case before. Is there a point in the game where it just starts telling you what you've missed? I'm just past
the two Dragonriders in Drangleic Castle
. The only other thing I did before noticing the change was that I leveled up my Intelligence to 20 - but I doubt it's connected to that.
I thought that was slightly disappointing, I didn't expect DS2 to start telling me how many areas/bonfires I have yet to discover.

Yup, it's at some point in
Drangleic Castle
that those appear. Probably after the boss you mentioned. I agree it's pretty weird for a Souls game to give you a list of what you missed.

Definitely clear the enemies. And when you ascetic the area, don't open the wooden chest in the room with all the spiders. It's just crossbow bolts and if you leave the chest closed, the spiders never aggro. And no, there's no shorter way to the C
ongregation
than the path from the bonfire in the tent to the boss.

Some general questions I just got up to I
ron
K

and I think the only place I haven't explored yet is the hole in Majula.

- Where is the guy in the cell that everyone says don't let him out? I saw a bunch of warning signs around a furnace door in IK but wasn't sure if he was in there or if it was just a big oven.

- When do I see Pate and the other guy face off? I'm scared I'm going to miss this event.

- When do I see all possible fast travel locations?

- I just got access to Ornifex, but don't see any appealing weapons. I do get a free one though, is there one I should take just for the hell of it? I'm a STR build currently using a Mastodon Greatsword +7.

- Where did Straid go after I spoke to him in Bastille?

- I have 10 estus flasks +2 right now, have I missed any shards?

As I said I only just got up to IK after beating the poison snake lady. If any of the answers to these ques on spoilers, feel free to just tell me I'm on track!

- He's in
Aldia's Keep
a bit later in the game.

- They face off after you met Pate in the forest and
Harvest Valley
and freed Creighton from his cell in
Huntsman's Copse
and met him at the
three fork road bonfire in the Shaded Woods.
It will go down in a small room in
Brightstone Cove Tseldora
.

- After a certain Boss in
Drangleic Castle
.

- Boss weapons just seem to be something to play around with mostly. There isn't much for STR based characters I've found.

- Straid just moves a bit to right outside the cell.

- Maybe you missed some bone dust. No way to know which ones for anyone but you I guess. :P

ha yea those names seem pretty backwards. Most of my damage is done with pyromancy, that's why I'm leveling INT, so maybe it would be smart to go enchanted incase I come across a fire-resistant boss?

It's an oven you need to deactivate to progress in IK. The guy you mentioned is in one of the last locations. You'll notice it for sure. The location is called
Aldia Keep

Brightstone Cave Tseldora, but only if you have triggered everything. That includes 2x Ceigh and 2x Pate.

When you reach D
rangelic
C
astle

I'd always trade in all souls. You get souls almost endlessly, but you can't buy those weapons otherwise.
For strength, Mustodon Greatsword, Mustodon Halberd (imo even better) and the Clubs seem to be the best weapons.

He will remain right in front of his cell.

Seems so. There are more dust and shards than you can make use of tho. max is +12 @+5, which youll reach if you find everything.
