So I was fighting the
rat vanguard
boss and I escaped death by a hair's breadth thanks to someone rating one of my messages...

Thank you random souls player!
Awesome.

I left "be wary of giant but hole" in front of last giant. Has helped a lot.

currently fighting
Looking Glass Knight
. He's kicking my ass, but it's still a fun fight. His
phantoms
really aren't that hard to deal with, but his
lightning
attacks are a bitch.

What's a good starting weapon? I feel like I should be using something stronger by now. I've been using the Heide Knight sword with lighting infused leveled it up so it's doing 93 dmg plus 53. I also have the flaming longsword that was in the room with the flaming salamander. I'm on my way to No Mans wharf as well. Is there anything I've possibly missed? My armor sucks ass as well but I haven't ran into anything besides hollow soldier crap. Any weapons or armor I can look for?

Damn, I
pulled the switch
in
Aldia's Keep
and released
Navlaan
. The area leading up to it was full of warnings, but I didn't listen. My mistake killed my later in the same level. I am not a sorcerer, so things could be worse I guess, but it still bums me out. Should have spoiled the game more for myself to avoid this ...

Looks like its my time to suffer.

Fucking with that dick head
ancient dragon
. I'm straight up melee but I'm wondering if there's any spells I can learn that will apply an extra kick to my weapon, similar to gold pine resin. Gold pine works well but costs 1500 a pop so I'd like to stop the bleeding monetarily.

Definitely clear the enemies. And when you ascetic the area, don't open the wooden chest in the room with all the spiders. It's just crossbow bolts and if you leave the chest closed, the spiders never aggro. And no, there's no shorter way to the C
ongregation
than the path from the bonfire in the tent to the boss.
just took the trophy. for the other one, do I have to talk to her in Aldia's Keep after I'm done with the 3 summons? I read that if I talk to her before she just disappears.

I got Magic Weapon. Requires 18 INT

I spoiled a few things for myself accidentally, but even I could not resist the pulling the lever.

You could get the sunlight blade miracle in
Shrine of Amana
. If you don't have the faith for it you can lower that requirement with spices. Same goes for the Dark and Magic Weapon buffs.

Correct. Do not talk to her at Aldia until you've done her 3 summons.

Grats on the B
enhart
trophy.

Sounds like you missed the
Dragonleic
stuff; weapon and armor found after the
Pursuer
fight. I missed it too so really you should be fine but that's what you're looking for.

It's worth mentioning that none of the weapon enchants are worth it if the weapon you're enchanting doesn't inherently have damage of that element.

The reason is all of the enchants (except for Resonant Weapon) are a flat 50 damage boost +30% of the enchanted weapon's <insert enchant element here> damage.

So for example, if you Sunlight Blade a weapon that isn't already Lightning, you get a whole 50 damage. But if the weapon was lightning infused, then you'd get 50 + (.3 * weapon's lightning damage).

Didn't even find her there. There were some locked doors. Did I need a key from somewhere?

She's not inside. She should've been outside in the small hut with the bonfire in it, in the area before the actual buildings begin (where there are a bunch of kobolds running around).

Edit: Apologies for the double post.

Yeah, forgot to mention that. Then again this makes them perfect for using the spices since they don't scale at all.

It is really hard to resist. All the messages are basically daring you to do it. I also felt stressed to make a decision because of an ongoing coop session.

You know, about the Ring of Life Protection being over-powered, I agree it should be more expensive to repair (double or even triple would make more sense), but man do I forget to put it on a lot, it's addictive (and I mean that in the negative way, like drugs), and making the trip to go get them repaired is a total flow-killer, so it's kinda balanced maybe.

The biggest punishment for using it is having to travel back to a smith everytime you die which adds two more of these long ass loading times to every death. :P
I'd rather risk my souls than deal with that honestly.

You can't use Homeward Bones during boss fights, right?

You can use them. Just have to time it right since they take a while.

There's a bastard sword in the Forest of Fallen Giants. I'm still using it (+10 version) at soul level 110. You have to deal with a bunch of turtle knights to get it.

Truth. I use it on troublesome bosses if I'm carrying souls otherwise I'd rather not waste the ring slot.

Shit.

Basically just lost 24,000 souls because I took a risk with a fog door, which turned out to be the
Smelter Demon

:(

Use the ring of life protection and reclaim your souls. You will get another chance to beat
Smelter
and if you die again it is only 3000 souls to repair the ring.

I think it's fine now. Definitely thought it was overpowered when I first heard about it.

You are gimping yourself if you use it for the sake of having insurance. It's too frustrating to be a main stay ring, screw warping back to Majula every time you die. Now I only use it if I already have a bloodstain out that I really don't want to lose, because my hexes are useless without souls. I'd rather have a more active benefit from other rings like faster spell casting, better hex damage, more ATT slots, etc.

As soon as I step in the room, I get taken out. Getting this armor set is possibly the hardest thing I've tried to do, in this game.

I'd say it's the exact opposite. To really make those spells work, you need to have high INT. 50 extra magic damage per attack is nothing, but an extra 20% or 30% added on to a weapon with lots of INT scaling can add a lot of damage.

Yeah, that makes sense. =/
I just need a weapon buff on any character I make. Just feel naked without one. :P

Wonderful placement of fog wall. From are masterful at trolling.

I thought it'd be a path to a bonfire :lol

Ended up equipping the RoLP and a Homeward Bone, picked the souls up and boned out of there

Haven't got a clue how to do that boss without a shield with both massive physical and fire resistance

Dude invaded my game a few nights ago and DM my XBL account and told me that if I drop a bunch of spices for me he would "Let me live" ... haha wtf? So I started messaging him back and forth and we traded some items and then his invasion timed out. He never even ended up with any of my spices :P

After I beat the Last Giant I went back to fight the pursuer and he wouldn't show up. Is he gone for good? Are there any other weapons or armor I in these areas? What the well in Majula? I want to go down there but I don't want to die lol.

So yesterday I was posting about keeping Lucatiel alive and how ENB said in a recent vid that the red eye ring didn't help during boss fights. Well I just tried it with the Lost Sinner and he didn't hit her once despite her being on him like white on rice and me constantly moving and backing off, so for me it definately helps. I fought her a couple of times yesterday and both times (without the ring) it was like she only saw Lucatiel and she was dead in no time.

FYI if anyone is having trouble keeping NPC phantoms alive for their quests.

So if I want to get max Crystal Magic Weapon boost, I should infuse my katana with Magic?

I stopped wearing my life of ring protection in NG+. Only wear it now if in trouble area or if I perhaps have like 400,000+ souls on me.

Though if one breaks, no issue. The game gives you like 10 by time your in NG+ lol

Anyone wanna give me a hand with farming the Shadow Armor? I Offer rewards for item trading. Weapons, items. Just let me know.

Definitely does work. Online, on the other hand, seems to be a hit and miss.

Got summoned a few times and using Red eye ring. It wasn't very consistent and I was the only one wearing the ring.
