Dont fret yet. Bimonthly Direct haven't happens this month yet, so I don't think we need to worry about it. It might happens late April.

This is so weird. Why have a Direct now for the game? It should still be a few months before release. Unless it's coming a LOT sooner then they've let on. It being a summer game and not a Fall or holiday one that everyone thought. A Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros combo with this dropping around or right after E3!?!

I would cry with joy. He's probably been the most prevalent Capcom character on Nintendo systems anyway, and who says they can only have one franchise?
I kinda want Professor Layton too, I think he deserves a shout. Plus, if you were to have both in Smash, you could have music from PLvPW!

I think For 3DS/WiiU are bad titles though, but I don't see them throwing those titles away, and, even if they do, I think each version would have its own title, rather than an uniform naming scheme.

Well, they did release Mario Kart and Brawl within a month of each other in the US, so it might be possible.
That was to announce the games though.

That was also when it was ANNOUNCED, if i recall. Smash was revealed June of last year. That said, I think this is just the first of probably 2 directs featuring smash, since it's typically a game with a ton of features, likely some which can't be shown off on miiverse. The dojo provided a great outlet because they could do video, sound, long descriptions, etc. Miiverse isn't ideal for that, not to mention nintendo directs are super popular hype trains.
I have a feeling we'll get about 1/3 of the remaining features revealed during this direct, another third at e3, and the last third in one last direct in october before release.

Weird that they'd have a direct just for SSB4, especially when we're seemingly so far from release (hope I'm wrong). I guess they could still unveil other games through it by showing characters/items from the series and announcing those game's release dates or whatever. Hopefully we get some extended gameplay or limited demo or anything just so we can see more actual footage in motion for a game rather than the short cuts from character reveal trailers.

Melee's one of the most rushed games of all time and is the best in the series. LOGIC DOES NOT APPLY IN THE REALM OF SAKURAI.

I think it's possible that They started Smash 4 Development during April/May 2012; so we are almost there for two years.
Brawl only have two years and two months.
