Did you open that door into the room where Pate is standing? If he says the same before and after you have taken the treasure, maybe there is a bug in the game.

This happened to me too. The trigger to advance his dialog is not looting the chest, but rather something to do with the way you get to him - like jumping off the ledge to get down to the treasure or going through the door to him from the opposite side - I don't remember exactly what. I went back and retraced the path from jumping down to getting to him, and that did the trick.

Yup you gotta open the door from the other side (since it's a one way door) to get Pate to advance.

Speaking of Pate and Creighton, what was up with Creighton having the same or extremely similar armor to the Heide knights when I freed him at Earthen Peak (or wherever it was) and when he was sitting at Shaded Woods, but then wearing these black robes/garb when fighting Pate.?

i 100% trophies and now i am PVPing and Helping/healing the mirror knight, starting to get a little bored
I use a washing pole. Long reach and highest (or one of the highest) katana damage. Only thing to watch out for is low durability (20) which may require a durability lessening ring.

He's got a hide away I believe where he went to change probably. But it's a shame you can't get his first set of armor he had at huntsmans.
And Screaming Meat was running around in a pair of gloves and trousers whilst my lady had full armor on. He died more than I did...
Redeye ring is your friend here. Makes Lucatiel easy as hell to keep alive for this fight. The problem is, the boss seems several times more aggressive once you put it on.

So I decided to try burning my first ascetic for the the
fight. I figured this guy was super easy at NG difficulty, how much harder can he be at NG+ diff? A. LOT. I've probably died to him over 20 times now. If I get hit by any of his melee attacks its a 1 shot.
One time I actually had him dead to rights and got greedy. His health was pretty low and I tried to shoot 2 concurrent lightning spears. The second spear killed him.....too bad he was able to get off his flaming palm attack and kill me as well. I'm at my wits end with this fight. Should I just come back when I'm able to take more than 1 hit?

After using the Black Knight Ultra Greatsword and Heide Knight Greatlance on my STR/FTH character for a good while, it feels so nice to make the switch to the Dragonslayer's Crescent Axe. Finally some good quick attacks!

Not quite my best setup numbers-wise but I'm quite liking the look and feel of this:
Having trouble summoning people for the
NG+ fight. When I put down my sign, I'm summoned instantly. But there never seems to be signs outside the fog or by the bonfire. Is there a level I should be at for this fight?

Holy shit. I just realized you can see the Pursuer before you fight him. Theres an overlook right next to the summon door where you can see him. I bet you can kill him with arrows like Dragon Rider.

Great Resonant Soul + maxed out Sunset Staff + Abyss Seal ring = Quick work of 90% of all bosses.
The only one that gave me issues was The Rotten. For him I used:
Unleash Magic+Soul Geyser+ maxed out Staff Of Wisdom. Make sure you bring/summon in Lucateil and The solo hunter NPC.
4 hits of soul geyser will knock him on his multiple assess... and everyone will live to tell the story.

I'm not sure about progress. But the cat reported stat and lvls of all my other covenants in NG+ and NG++.
In short it sounds safe but I would stick to what your doing (your going to have to do it anyway).
It took me two hours to knock out the extra 20 that I needed for lvl 2 Bell Keepers
(offline).
I have 43 FAI, but the FAI scaling on the +10 lightning greatsword is rather inconsequential. With 43 FAI I only get +43 to lightning. However somehow the initial 280 physical with 280 lightning damage already goes through the roof. Once you get sunlight weapon you get another 30% to lightning damage, so you can see where the damage does.

Damn the Pursuer is really hard for a mage. He 1-2 hits me, and dodging is seemingly not in the question.
I've seen the same with just 8 faith it's pretty much one shotting most things with my 50 strength. It's a lot better than I thought it would be.

Why is everyone who summons for Pursuer so fucking stupid? WHY on gods gren Earth would you lead him towards the guy firing the ballista? No, why would you purposely heal while in front of the ballistia right as soon as I fire? Don't fucking complain when you die because you got in my way.

The robe is the default armor for the Cleric class and I think you can farm it in
Shrine of Amana
