is pretty easy with 5 souls in NG. Slightly harder in NG+ and even more so in NG++. Having slight difficulty with him in NG++. Some of his attacks seem to one-shot me. lol

I like to fight him naked so everything one-shots me lol. So I just dodge a lot.

Alright guys, I need 5 twinkling titanite. What's the quickest way to get them? I've just arrived in Shrine and hear the enemies there can drop it, but is there anywhere better?

Pretty sure I've got most lootable pieces.

I've found these guys drop them pretty frequently. I've had good luck killing them with the merchant hat on and getting loads of twinkling titanite. You should be able to get 5 no problem.

What? Are you sure you're getting input lag?

I think the following things get confused for input lag:

  • If you use up 100% of your stamina you can't run until you regain it all
  • When you are stunlocked or shield-bashed you drop your shield and have to press L1 again to bring it up. It won't come up automatically. Let go of the button then press it again.
  • Some big enemies and weapons have a stun AOE that shakes the ground and disrupts your ability to run, move and roll
  • By default a lot of actions are slower but can be leveled. Putting some points in ADP helps. Likewise, spell/miracle/hex casting speed can be leveled a few ways too.
I put 80 hours in this game and never experienced what I'd call input lag, with the one exception of menus.

Nothing of that. I know what I'm talking about. We had the same thing in the early days of Dark Souls 1 but somehow they fixed it.
Are you playing offline? Perhaps that helps.

They won't. The whole game lags hardcore even the menus.

LOL

Licia
is a cunt.

I can get her HP right down but she uses replenishment I guess and she's back up to 70% HP, and she's surely got infinite casts of WotG? Any ideas on taking out this piece of shit as quickly as possible?

On my first character I just abused the AI and ran up the steps, but
invading
you're locked in to the small space.

edit - got the twat, downed her with toxic mist and firestorm. My first time using pyromancy. Guess it makes sense that my faith character wasn't going to get away with using lightning spears against her!

How do you get into Drangleic Castle? I read the wiki and I'm killing them about as close to the bowl as is possible and nothing happens. Ive tried in different locations and killed like 40 of em near the statues and I still can't get in

I killed a ton of them as well, but wasn't able to actually open the door until
I collected the four Great Souls
. Maybe I just missed something the first time, though, because I don't see anything in the wiki about that being a hard requirement.

I assume I've gotten them all because the lady at Majula told me to go the castle

Ah, yeah, you're good to go. Hmm, in that case I'm not sure. Have you seen the statue change position and slightly pick up the stone basin in front of it? That seems to be the indicator that it properly absorbed the soldiers' souls.

You need to take out the left crossbow dude first, then kill those annoying sword guys near the right bowl.

So i reached the endgame (few bosses left), can i stop to play this piece of crap or does the game get any better on NG+? What a disappointment, i can't believe i wasted 100 euros on this shit.

Well, if you didn't like the gameplay, I don't think you'll like NG+ either. Although there are actual changes in NG+ this time around.

Then you should have stopped a long time ago.... or are you looking for someone to rub your bottom and tell you that you've done good to plow through thus far?

Edit:
I would also add that it's not very smart to come in a thread were hundreds are loving the game, giving strategic direction to those who ask or championing their latest accomplishment, and dump on the prized focus.

If you want or need a reason to go forward then ask with a little more appreciation for time and place.

If you hate it now, you ain't gonna like NG+ I'm guessing. Can you elaborate why you think its a piece of crap?

Why do you dislike the game? Any specific reasons?
The atmosphere, the art, (Lost Bastille? No man's Wharf? Shaded Woods? We are on Two Worlds 2 levels) the animations (just see the change of the BK Halberd moveset), the lore (what is the purpose to change it when the whole thing is criptic, it's not like ME or TW).
It's a different game.

Okay. Please quit.

Lol, are you wondering if there's different environments and weapon animations and lore in NG+ or something?

Personally I think Lost Bastille and No Man's Wharf have great atmosphere. Shaded Woods is pretty ugly. I like a lot of the new animations too.

9 hrs and going toe to toe with ancient dragon. I have his patterns down except he'll fly and hover close to edge giving me little space to escape fire.
Run away 45° towards nearest edge. It took me awhile (died about 12 times) but I got it..and so will you. What is your class?

New job and baby means I've been taking this game pretty slow. Haven't really been reading the threads much so I dunno if this is something y'all have heard before, but damn so far Dark Souls 2 has been pretty easy. I'm particularly disappointed with the bosses so far. Most of them are no different from normal enemies, just bigger and slower and hit harder. I've beaten a majority of the ones I've faced so far my first try. I'm trying to think, by this point in the game I had beaten Taurus and Capra, who didn't have anything special in their moveset but at least their arenas made for challenging encounters, Gaping, which wasn't hard once you notice his pattern but at least was a spectacle, and Quelaag, who had decent variety of attacks and kept you on your toes by covering the ground in lava. So far either the DS2 bosses just don't stack up or the series as a whole just has diminishing returns.

I played Two Worlds 2, more than I should have. This post is bullshit.

What are you expecting from this post and thread, other than our attention? Just stop playing, and move on. Unless someone is forcing you to play.

I was thinking of the same today. Many bosses in DS2 has a second phase around 50%, but honestly, it's not a big change whenever it happens. I'm not through the game yet (
Velstadt
done) so there might be surprises.

But there is only so much any given formula can do. For DS3 (if From doesn't give us Demon's Souls 2) I sincerely hope that the formula will get a bit more variety. People are starting to learn the ins and outs and it will never be as difficult as what we experienced by the early games. Unless we get more aggressive fights as the Capra Demon, I'm not sure the series will be able to keep momentum. I need some adrenaline pumping encounters.

Ugh, this shithole has invaded me in Iron Keep two times in a row. Fucker has magic coming out of his ass an a sword that sends off sonic booms. Mother fucker.

Damn. Malformed Skull has so much damage. That weapon is pure destruction.

Does the scaling improve when you upgrade it? Nearly to the spot where I can try and snag it so I'm hoping it's awesome.

On another note
I wrecked Freja and am finishing the extinction of Tseldora. Managed to get most of the armor from the spiders that boosts soul acquisition.

I really liked Freja from a design perspective. She reminded me a lot of the spider you fight in Demon's Souls. And I feel like she is pretty iconic looking. Probably one of the most visually memorable bosses thus far. That being said she only took 2 attempts. Baiting out her laser made the fight pretty easy. I used chaos storm to clear the majority of her adds at the beginning and that was the end of that.

what's the best chime to cast hexes and miracles? Chime of want? Obviously I've already used the soul to get the fucking bow.
edit: wait, is the Sunset Staff the best option for casting hexes?

I'm having the well-documented trouble in NG+ where if I put my summon sign down I'm summoned almost instantaneously, but any time I look for help myself there's nothing. Really weird.

Also lost 100k souls to a stupid mistake. Skeletons can go die in a fire.

I think 30,000 or so was the most I lost. Because I was a dummy and didn't go back to the save after
the first rat boss battle (the one down the pit in Majula)
and ended up losing it all to those fucking exploding zombie guys at the bottom.

The weapon doesn't scale with anything as far as I can see. At 50 STR I have 510 damage with it, so it's not too shabby despite the lack of scaling.

Unfortunately, the joy of the weapon is short lived. It has 20 durability. So it basically breaks before you start to get going. I'd say it's mostly suited for unexpected PvP encounters or black phantoms.

There is imput lag for menus on ps3, it's been discussed plenty times in this thread, i haven't played for a while so i don't know if it's fixed. I had that issue and thought it was my controller till i replaced it got the same problems and found other people experiencing the same thing.

Should i kill NPC's before i go to NG+? I want their armor lol.. already killed the guy with the bluemoon sword, and feel bad about it.

If Im not mistaken sins carry over to NG+, so be sure to absolve before moving...

Yeah, it happens on 360 too. I think the next patch is going to fix it.

Just a slow menu? I'm pretty picky regarding any form of lag, and I haven't really noticed any real menu lag. I'm on PS3 too.

The game runs like shit, but that's just the PS3 lacking horsepower.

That's a shame. The large and great club are really awesome but they look awful. Malformed looked to be amazing given it's damage and weight. But that durability leaves much to be desired.

I was about to upgrade a Great Club to +10 but then I touched that weapon. Should have spent the shards on the Great Club though :(

Looks lame, but at least it's functional.

When you press start, your menu comes up immediately every time? About half the time for me it lags for a good 2-4 seconds before bringing up the menu.

Yeah compared to Dark Souls when you press a button the menu opens instantly. I notice it can take upwards of 3 secs for the level menu from the green herald to open sometimes.

So;

First person who can help me grab the Shadow Mask from the Suspicious Shadows in the Flexile Sentry Boss Fight (NG+ and beyond), get's $10 in PayPal from me.
