Getting invaded on a regular basis now that I'm SL150 and can't say that I'm enjoying it. I'm crap at PvP to begin with so this whole thing of being susceptible to invasions while hollow is an extremely unwelcome change to me.

You could always burn an effigy to disable invasions

play offline or just suicide to kick them back to their world. I'm not a fan of invasions cuz i'm going for trophies right now.

Man that corridor in Aldia's Keep with the Ogres, fuuuuck. Thank god for poison darts things.

Get the key from the yellow liquid and go to the door you can open on the right in the corridor. You can skip most of the corridor there. Also the ogres can't go through the door where you exit.

It's been many hours since Drangleic Castle and every time I was thinking "this is the end" but the game kept giving.
Until now I was wondering "Where are the dragons?". Holy shit when you enter their domain and see dozens of them flying in the sky. The place is so beautiful as well and some scenery is breathtaking.
The only thing is, the dragon I fought just before was a weak boss compared to the previous one. It's the first boss I beat in my first attempt BTW, SL30.

Unlike Dark Souls where the second part was a little disappointing, here it's the exact opposite. All the areas I played since Drangleic Castle are fantastic.

Is that reversible?
I'm honestly pretty annoyed by that as well. My SL30 amazonne is getting constantly invaded by >SL120 players. I got invaded more than 100 times in my first play-through so far.
Every time when I go to the blacksmith, I try to get the fuck out of there ASAP because I always get invaded there. The placement of that blacksmith is a mistake IMO, it's so frustrating.
I'm playing the Japanese version BTW.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grqG-WwGqM0 You only have to worry about two attacks if you bait out his breath attack.
Yeah I've watched methods on youtube and already tried it countless times myself with my first character, I've no interest in doing it.

In fact, I'm wondering why I'm even doing Vendrick again. I was planning on going for the platinum with this character, so unless he has something I need (can't think of anything since I already have the trophy for killing him), I've no reason to ever do him again either.

I'm stuck on O&S on a SL1 run. I'm trying to fight Super Ornstein and while I can hit Smough for a lot, I can't do anything to SO. Any tips?

WTF happened to the skybox around Drangleic Castle?! This is so jarring.... some bug in the latest calibrations? :S
I'd say its even more challenging but in the most unfair ways (which the Souls series employs as well tbh).

You think Ancient Dragon has a lot of health bwahahaha, you have creatures ( not even bosses ) in DD that have like 7 health bars. I had to hire an infinite level pawn to help me defeat the condemned cyclops x2 room. Oh and the city before Daimon, nah its not even possible.
They are ridiculously difficult at lower level, but once you reach 100+ level and have level 2 or 3 BBI gear (preferably dragonforged), they can go down in seconds when fought correctly (assuming you're using something other than a warrior xD). So, I wouldn't say it's more challenging. It's just more of a "grind", but luckily that grind is actually kinda fun (exploring BBI naturally will get you enough levels and good gear to come back to these places and wreck up even the biggest monsters).

What is the best kind of infusion for the Great Club +9 of my STR build?
None.

Wrong thread? (But to answer the question: pyromancy!)

God damn it I thought this was DS1. Sorry (though I might need to upgrade my flame)

I fucking hate Vendrick. I'm not finding him any easier on my second playthrough with a different character. I'm fine until he does his sweeping combo. The first hit stunlocks and drains 100% of my stamina when blocked or clipped whilst rolling, which basically means I'm dead because even if he only does 2 hits and not 3, the next swing is guaranteed to hit and takes 80% of my health and then I'm left scrambling to heal.

Mantra: "Breath in, breath out... all it takes is patience. You've done it once, you can do it again!"

Dress your character accordingly; if you have died so many times you probably don't even have to clean the soldiers warding his tomb.

Go with the max phys defence possible. Then remember to stay behind him at all times, under his feet, and never get too greedy with your hits. Hit only once or twice, depending on your weapon, and always have enough stamina left to roll away.

e: some people say that, if you die from one hit anyway, just get naked to maximize rolling distance/stamina. Also get the ring that boosts attack once you are under X% of health, and just get hit by some enemies

I hated it at first but I've grown to like it. Sure my build isn't designed for PVP but when I win against an invader I feel so boss.

Also god help any invader who comes at me when I have phantoms.

aargghhh why is the A Dragon so hard!! its not fun anymore.
How are my chances with 4 gaint souls?

It'll take literally double the time. If you can at least sustain ONE hit without dying, then it's doable.

well, it's doable either way but it will be less frustrating :p

Does anyone use a lance for PVE? Picked up the Grand Lance, moveset is pretty much all the same thing but I wonder if the damage is worth respeccing for? Could help at the start of NG+ to be able to attack from behind my shield.

I was discussing this earlier today in here, burn a bonfire ascetic at the black gulch first bonfire and the giants below will drop another giant soul for you.

Guess I haven't found the right vendor yet. I also haven't found any decent gear other than rings yet.
You have probably already passed him by since he appears in 3 locations (and settles in the 3rd)

1. No Man's Wharf
2. Earthen Peak
3. Doors of Pharros

I think he will still be in the first if you haven't met him at all.

ALWAYS roll twice for his sweeping attack. Don't bother blocking it.

About to respec my hexer to be able to use the washing pole (dark imbued with minimum STR/DEX and 50INT/FTH). I'm going from 50->40ATT in the process and losing some VGR and END as well. Hope it's worth it.

It's a long fight and you can successfully roll 9 out of 10 of those horizontal swing combos, but you only need to get hit by one and it's roasting marshmallows at the bonfire time..

I guess I put less points into stamina than most because if I get clipped by the swing (as I'm rolling) it takes 100% of my stamina, stunlocking and gauranteeing the second hit. This is how I always level up in Souls though and it always bites me on the ass at some point - HP and stamina are always the last things I level up because I want maximum damage output asap at all times. Just got to level up stamina so the first hit doesn't drain 100%. I should just go full Havel's derp like everyone else and pump up HP and stamina.

Fuck yes. This thing already owns with resonant weapon and I didn't imbue it yet. It's really satisfying to use, even more fun than DS1's washing pole. I just had some fun testing it out in the Iron Keep while I got the dull ember.

You can tank Vendy's swings with a fully upped Havel's greatshield, it was pretty amusing when I tried doing it on my strength character. Still a damn long & boring fight though.

Think I need to star carrying around a bow for a medium range backup whenever an invader disables my spells. Any recommendations for some who is Faith build with very low Str/ Dex?

Still took up a lot of stamina. Also, one mistake, and you could be done :x

Imagine fighting this dude in his prime. He'd be unstoppable.

Ok I think I know what you mean.

I'm a knight. Sporting a dragon tooth +3 combo.
Sorry about getting back to you so late. (Hopefully you killed him by now).
But you're build is a tough one. If you're not wearing the fire ring+1 or 2 then strip butter bare. With you chol ring for extra stamina.
Continue on the inside two hits ooutside strategy.

If you have the fire ring + then be sure eat the 'fire fire' fruit before you enter the fight with the highest rated fire resistant shield you can carry. Doing this will give you a second chance just in case you miss up along the way.

Maybe a raw infused short or composite bow. Or lightning. Besides bows maybe an Avelyn would be nice on the side if it's not too heavy...not sure about the weight.

Okay so I'm in D
rangleic
C
astle
, In the room with all the
Ruin Sentinels
. Does anyone know what is in the room that is all the way on the end to the right? I've been able to work my way through all the other rooms, and I know there is a chest in that last room on the right, but I just want to know what it is

Finally fucking got it. -
