If the delay is real, I imagine it could very well be theygot permission for a new third party character and are scrambling to out them in. Would be interesting if it was Snake and all that initial statement from Kojima put things in motion.

I just hope, if it is a delay for someone like Snake there aren't any potential characters cut and there isn't a huge gap between the US and Japanese release dates, I'd be nice and easy to avoid the game secret spoilers.

I hope not but it wouldn't surprise me, more or less all of Nintendo's major first party titles have been delayed with the exception of 3D World. Pikmin, Wii Fit and DKC all came months after they were supposed to.

I don’t know how much the rest of you know about Japanese culture (I’m an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It’s not like it is in America where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in Japan, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.

What this means is the Japanese public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase Super Smash Bros, nor will they purchase any of Nintendo’s other games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Nintendo has alienated an entire market with this move.

Nintendo, publicly apologize and fix the release date on that random job website or you can kiss your business goodbye.
