The Direct starts at 7AM here, and I have to leave for work at 8. As soon as the length of the direct is announced, I have to make a judgement call about whether I can watch all of it and still get ready for work.
If I can't, it'll be the longest work day of my life.
It's going to be a great Australian breakfast come Wednesday. Bowl of Weet-Bix and a Smash Direct, what could be better?

The thing against Ridley in my opinion isn't his strength or size. Unlike most playable characters in this game Ridley's stance and proportions give his body the shape of a really long horizontal rectangle. The only fighting game characters I can recall with a similar body is wolf form Valkenhayn from Blazblue and Amaterasu from MVC3, and they're both wait height compared to most characters in their games.
Still want him in the game, though.

Yes. I'd like both, but I'm hoping against hope for alt costumes (although I'm pretty sure I read an interview in which Sakurai specifically said he won't do them because they throw off hit boxes, or some such -- allow me my denial).

I'm guessing that Male Wii Fit Trainer is an exception, much like how WarioWare Wario was the only costume in Brawl.
Anyone who thinks Ridley Scott is being announced at Smash's big Nintendo Direct is delusional. Expect Pac-Man and Mii and hope for the director of Alien to sneak into the game during a later update.
It's be nice if it were remodeled to actually look like Brinstar, with lots of green shrubbery.

I don't think they'd use a direct to show off assist trophies.
Keep in mind that K. Rool may end up being equal to Waluigi in Sakurai's mind (who was also highly requested). Both seem "uninspired" for lack of a better word.

I'm pretty excited about this, even though its not coming out till next year (Principal Skinner: "Prove me wrong kids! Prove me wrong!"). I love Nintendo Directs cause I watch them on my Chromecast with my kids and they love it as much as I do. It'll make my 4 year old son ask me every day for the next week if this game has come out yet, though.

As pointed out by Tolkir in the Nintendo Downloads thread, Kid Icarus : Uprising is finally getting a DL version in Europe... this Wednesday. It's quite unusual, as new releases from Nintendo usually happens on Thursdays, unless there's something special happening like a Direct or something.

I doubt so too. I also doubt that Ganondorf will get a decent moveset or that the game will be any more balanced than Brawl. For Smash, what you hope for becomes quite different from what you expect.
