What is this, a 90's grunge music video?

I can't believe how insane it gets! Surely it'll come to a point where it'll become impossible to play??

In DeS/DKSI - the people at the level cap/super high levels were generally cheaters and hackers. The soul investment once you reach the higher levels is kind of insane, and most sane people don't bother.

That said, with how easy it is to keep your souls safe with the ring of life protection - it'd be much easier to keep the souls around to level up where in the previous games, the risk of permanently losing your souls was much higher.

There comes a point though of which moving onto the next NG+ doesn't cause an increase in difficulty - and with the way diminishing returns affect most things, it's not like you /need/ to max everything out.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Sunlight Blade dmg scales ONLY with the level of the chime, and NOT with how high my faith is right? I think I read that somewhere, and just want to confirm before respeccing :)

do the sorceresses in Amana drop there armor like the sages in earthen peak ?

I dont think so, their rare drop was their staff in my run

Shouldn't sorceries be better in coop? I mean you have easier time casting spells when boss concentrates on someone else than you when coop.

You dont deal enough damage to do something in a full party boss battle with your normal spells, you have to retreat and get your boss battle gear

Would it be smart to infuse darkdrift with poison? I was thinking that with it's shield piercing attack, I might be able to poison tanks. How many hits would something like that take approximately?

Same here. Gets really easy to stop caring about souls anymore in NG+ due to the high cost of leveling at this point and the nullification of soul memory. I basically use all my souls to buy blue eye orbs now.
Around lb 250 the soul amount stops going up around 300k. Only like 1k increase each time.

Actually very easy to get 300k in NG++, esp with invasions.

Good man. Poison arrows is the best thing.

Thanks for the tip. I just got to the 3rd bonfire area for
Shrine of Amana
and this area is quite annoying. They even decide to throw in an
NPC Invader
for good measure. The atmosphere in this level is outstanding, but the lack of mobility and the annoying range of all the enemies makes this an area I can't wait to put in the rear-view mirror.

yea, i didn't really use the bow much at all. i just happened to have it in my inventory. but i was annoyed enough that i used it and it made me a believer with the bow. it also made the entire area super easy. looking forward to seeing how it fucks with me in NG+ lol

I'm confused about dual wielding. It seems I do more damage with my fire longsword +10 using two hands than power stance with a crescent axe in the other. Whats up with that? My dex is at 30 str 50.

Hmm question about using a bonfire ascetic at the forest of fallen giants.

I just got to the bit where I'm going inside the giant's memories, and its fucking brutal! Easily the hardest the game has been so far. Did the bonfire ascetic make these memories NG+? I used this area to test what a bonfire ascetic did... I didn't know I'd come back here for late game stuff. I'm only level 100, what level should I be?

The bonfire that controls the memories NG level is the one you need the K
ing's
R
ing
to get to. So unless you ascetic'ed that one, your memories are only NG.

I can, but, the moment I attack he charges towards me, and dodges everything then. I got him down to 25%, and he heals up and kills me in 1 kill. That's the problem with this build, everything kills me in 1-2 hits. You get poisoned? You are dead.

Have you tried skipping that area?

As it is entirely optional, you are getting angry about something that is easily avoided.

Well...wellllll, I've overstayed my welcome in the faith/lightning department. Thanks!

That information is wrong.

Sunlight Blade (and all other spell-based buffs besides Resonant Weapon) are a 50 damage buff + 30% of your chosen weapon's lightning damage. If your weapon is Lightning infused, then it scales with faith, which means that the buff also gains more damage the higher your faith is.

So where's a good place for pvp in NG+? I haven't been able to find anyone to invade in the early game areas and the bell tower was dead as well. I'm SL150.

To be fair, unless you have something like the Defender Greatsword with an S scaling in Lightning, you will see miniscule increases in weapon damage by leveling faith. I think I got +54 or so on a weapon with C or B scaling when I had 50 faith, to be compared with the near 200 base lightning damage.

First bonfire of Iron Keep is full of dragon remnants and red summon signs.
Edit: And... beat. That's why you refresh, kids.

Had a pretty successful Sunday with the game.

did Sinner's Rise and wrecked the boss in one go. That fight was way easier than I was anticipating. That being said, it's another where I could see it going bad real fast. The boss doesn't leave much room for recovery if you wiff it. But being defensive until s/he did the overhead slam part of the combo and punishing that proved to be a good strat. This was with the lights on though.

Did a chunk of the castle as well. Since I've committed to a solitary experience my sky looked awesome since I haven't connected the game to the net in a couple of weeks.

I did die once to dual dragonriders cause I derped and didn't see where he archer one had spawned. That being said, flame swathed him on my second go around and it nearly 1 shot him. Then it was simple melee/strafe start for the remainder.

Also farmed some titanite from those statue guys.

Oh and joined the Pilgrims convenant and cleared the castle portal. Havel 2.0 is a dickkk.

Really enjoying the castle as a whole though. Very neat environment.

The boss is actually quite easy
with the cheese poison arrow strategy
.
Stand on the nearby balcony and shoot lots of poison arrows. Dodge into the sideswipes and dodge away from the crushing strike from above. The boss will not be able to climb up to where you are, so there are no unpredictable moves aside from those I mentioned to take into account.

Hey guys, I just rang the bell at No Mans Wharf but went back to Majula to level up a bit before I go fight the boss. However, I feel like my current build isn't doing much for me. I was getting DESTROYED by those spider monkey things.
Here's my stats:
Vigor:15
Endurance:20
Vit:8
Atn:5
Str:20
Dex:14
Adp:8
Int:5
Fth:5

I have drangelic armor but I'm not able to wear it without moving slow and my bastard sword doesn't seem to be as effective as I had hoped with this build. I have a soul vessel and planned on Respecing but I didn't want to do that and mess it up further. Any suggestions?

The spider things hit hard. Just get more HP (you get good gains in HP up till 50, even if the soft cap is 20, so how much you want is up to you). Also wear lighter armor and stay under 70% equip weight (whichever you use won't make much of a difference). You may need to level up Vitality.

Light a torch and just ignore them. They're scared of light and will quiver in fear and run away if you have a torch out.

I used a similar build and destroyed everything early on. Have you upgraded the bastard sword? You should be able to get it to +3~5 at that point. Don't bother respecing that early on. Just level the other STATs with all the souls you get and respec when you're completely sure about your next build.

Well, those long arm guys are tough. Just avoid them by using the torch or just running away.

I'm right about at the same area. Those things DO hit hard, but are easy to take out with great soul arrows (if you have them). If you need to mix it up close, use the drangelic shield- it blocks 100% of physical damage and is reasonably good against bleed.

edit: for comparison, I'm dominating those things right now at level 51, with one attunement slot with GSA in it, a drangelic shield, and a fire longsword +3.

I'm going for the platinum on my second character and have most things done except optional bosses. Any tips or plan for what to do before going over to NG+?

I farmed SoA completely as it's a good source of twinkling and effigies. About to farm DoP as it's a source of upgrade stones too I think. Just got a Sea Bow, it took FOREVER and it might've been my last run through as most of the enemies had already stopped spawning. Farmed Drangleic for slabs too, do the black statues in the room with the sentinels spawn indefinately? It really feels like I've done that room 15+.

What makes those guys so tough is they apply bleeding. Bleed deals a crapload of damage and impairs your stamina regen. For me at least they could bleed me in 2 hits, so you have to be careful. If one manages to hit you, pull back and wait for the bleed meter to drain before you engage again.

Edit: talking about the guys in No Man's Wharf if that wasn't clear.

Just use the pharoah key and ilght the whole area up so they will stay away from you. You are not ready yet and will just get owned. The boss(with help) should be no problem for your build(Str/Dex obviously). I farmed via white phantom and was at a level where I could wreak shop with a greatsword.

There are some NPCs who don't want to speak to me.
- The petrified guy in the prison. He literally tells me that I'm not intelligent enough lol
- The guy in the Concealed Harbor
- The dude who is mumbling dark dark dark in entrance of the Hunting Forest.

Do someone knows how much stat do I need to speak with them?
I would like to check what they have to say and offer if any before beating the game.

these are all magic / hex merchants and one guy you can trade boss souls to. You need more int to talk to the first two and int/faith to talk to the third (8/8 I think it is, but maybe 10/10).

In this order:
3 int,
8 int,
8 int + 8 faith

Whoever put these items in this f@$!ing lava is a complete asshole. What is the point of all this fire resistant armor and spells and rings plus
rolling in water urns
if i still die near instantly? Am i meant to just barely survive long enough to grab the item before i die a stupid death because of the basic chest opening animation? Dumbest shit ever. Im fuming man just fuming. Not from a boss, not from falling off a cliff, but from the insanity of putting these items in a place where theres no option but to die. Even the youtube videos i watched on it has people dying to get them.

Yeah, it's pretty lame. I was surprised to see there wasn't an orange charred ring or something like it to cross the lava. You can also pop an elizabeth mushroom or other regen items for the health drain. Still, it's highly unlikely you'll make it back alive if you manage to get the item.

I cant even make it to the last chest. I got the water, flash sweat, fire resist ring +1, fire resist item, popping lifegem before i run, popping a mushroom. Idie half way to it. Its bullshit.

Not sure if true, but I heard using lifegems in the lava negates some fire defense.

I used smelter demon armor, flash sweat, flame quartz ring and roll in the water and I was able to waltz down, get the items and come back with only an occasional estus flask use. At no time was I in features of dying.

Brother! Did you choose a bandit as well?
I'm impressed how optimized for melee combat that class is.
No I did a Mage first so got to talk to Straid and Carhillion as soon as I met them. Straid says that even if you buy stuff from him, lol. He's pretty important merchant actually so worth checking his wares if you want to do everything.

I still haven't seen what the guy in the chair before the Copse has as my second character is Faith, but I plan to respec to use hexes before NG+ so will get his stuff then. I'm sitting on 450,000 souls ready for the pre-NG+ shopping spree!

Well i tried many times without lifegems and same result. I saw other people said to use lifegems. Ill try that armor set to see if it changes anything.

Try chugging several estus flasks at once, too. That's what I had to do to get all the chests. Also, which chest is your last one?
