Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 6: Final Destination confirmed for not fun

Brawl was ultimately delayed by what, 6 months? Final delay was announced as late as 2 months before the release of the game if I recall correctly :/

People think it will be Brawl all over again, you know, because it happened that one time.

I'm not saying a delay is completely out of the question, but there's no real reason to expect it at all.
 
Umm, excuse me but where can I find every pic of the day along with their descriptions? I've been quite busy the last few months and I didn't really check them. And btw, what can we expect from the Smash Direct?

Damn it, I've really missed this thread. :(

It's like people have never played nintendo games before, smash 64 plays like smash 64, melee plays like melee, brawl plays like brawl, and smash 4 is gonna play like smash 4, sakurai isnt out to make the same game twice with better graphics.

oh yeah dont know if it was seen before, but glad the boxes with wheels have returned. loved trolling ppl with the ones in brawl

Best attack item in the game! Bonus points if you lure your opponent on the top of a rolling crate and then smash it off the stage XD

Oh and holy shit, Sakurai revealed a ton of different things lately. I thought he would still reveal a small detail every week or two. lol And a Pokemon Stage too, cool.
 
Come on guys, we kept hearing how this game could release sooner then everyone expected.
We all will be laughing together soon when Iwata will announce a late Summer/early Fall release :)
 
Actually, I could see Soul Calibur for that job listing, since it refers to Smash as a series that sold over ten million combined and Smash is far, far beyond that.

But if Smash 6 is 2015 wouldn't it make more sense to think Smash 4 and 5 won't be delayed?

Sakurai has a big problem, he usually takes more than he can chew, the end result is excellent of course but that doesn't mean he doesn't still have a problem.
It happened with kirby's air ride (3 times), it happened with meteos, it happened with brawl... twice, and it happened with kid icarus. We are not talking of a small delay here and there, we are talking of half year and repeat delays. Since melee all his games have been delayed. So no, is not only brawl, how another poster has written.

It's then not surprising that making two games (yes two, because i've seen people in this thread give excuses of not being that hard to do or is still the same amount of work, when other people question why the handheld version exists). And no, Sakurai saying he really wanted to do the portable version is not a good excuse, he knew where he was getting at, he knew it was too much for him, he even got the tekken team to help him, and not only that but he has an injury in his arm, yet he decided to continue with it. Other teams would have decided to scrap one of the versions, but Sakurai, for good AND bad, have decided to continue this route that if not delayed can harm both versions.
So that's why im not surprised in the slightlest if the game gets delayed tonight, I really hope that's not the case in the end or hopefully only the portable version is delayed (the wiiU needs more than ever the game) i really really hope... But I will not be surprised tonight if the delay news happens.

Working on games shows you that making them is a HUGE task, and it was, since first glance when he showed he was doing two versions, that the task he was going to take was a gargantuan one.

Dont get me wrong, I love Sakurai's games, and I love all the attention of detail he gives to them, because at the end of the day, they come out perfectly, but that doesn't mean he isn't lucky that he is working on nintendo. And im pretty sure he also knows this.

That's a pretty good point. SSBB alone sold over 10 million copies. Melee sold about 7 million, SSB sold about five million.

That job listing...I still don't know what to think about it.

Who even knows at this point who or what he's working for. All those details are out of public information and any common sense guesses get mucked up with the Project Sora stuff. He could be working on this game with a commission-based interest in the final sales for all we know and would willingly delay the game for high sales. I know that's what I would've been pushing for if I was him. It gets even weirder when you see Nintendo trying to do some new third-pillar "console". In the end, there's hundreds of potential reasons why this game could get a strong delay.
