Long shots, perhaps, but Villager was very heavily requested, even going back to Brawl.

And why no mention of Rosalina, if his leak was so spot on?

I believe that it will be shown to be a lucky guess in 2 hours.

Maybe Rosalina wasn't planned to be at E3, or wasn't in the game yet, or they decided to reveal her earlier than Little Mac and the others?

Even if they don't get announced in the Direct, that wouldn't prove anything.

Soon...

I would love Wonder-Red, but I would love if they found a way to I corporate the entire group of main people as 1 char ability-wise.

The final smash could be something amazing...

spoilers from the end of the game :

Final Ultimate Legendary Earth Power Super Max Justice Future Miracle Dream Beautiful Galaxy Big Bang Little Bang Sunrise Starlight Infinite Fabulous Totally Final Wonderful Arrow...Fire!

Oh yeah that's what I was thinking. Like each of the Special moves creates a different morph. Like Neutral-B is Fist, Side-B is Gun, Down B is sword, and Up B is Whip. Then Smash attacks and standard attacks would change depending on the morph. Like Gun would be long range, fist would be physical, whip could be recovery and long range, etc. And that final smash would be great

Sonic has had other moves outside his genesis days ya know...
And if you say those are the only good ones then you clearly never played the Advance titles.
Actually a lot of Sonic's normal moves from Brawl were taken from the GBA game Sonic Battle.
But anyways...
HYPE!
I hope they show off a little more of the 3DS version, we've barely seen anything aside from screens.

It will be interesting to see how Pac-Man is handled.

It seems like Capcom didn't really care how Sakurai handled Mega Man, while Sega made sure Sonic could be brand-identified as the Sonic kids know now. I recall that Kojima insisted on writing Snake's dialogue and codec conversations, but otherwise just let Sakurai do what he wants.

Hopefully Namco is not like "That Pac-Man cartoon is hot now, make sure he looks like that."

That's a huge stretch, and even then at least Sonic has speed and charged attacks. :P

If Pac Man is in they certainly have to take a lot of liberties to make him an interesting fighting character.

The thing is, Pac-Man does a ton of shit after that original arcade game, it's just all stuff no one knows or cares about because Namco woefully mismanaged that character.

I'm not sure if you are being sarcastic or not :(

edit: wait are people trying to imply Jigglypuff or Kirby are just balls that punch and kick? They have a whole other set of moves, what does Pac Man has besides eating pellets? seriously. He doesn't even fly. Let's be get real here.
Sakurai made a character out of Wii Fit Trainer. He made a character out of Captain Falcon. He made a character out of R.O.B. Stop setting yourself up to look like someone completely devoid of imagination or game design ideas. If Sakurai wants to make a character out of Pac-Man, he will find a way, and it will be awesome.

And really, Pac-Man is ripe with move-set material. Off the top of my head: His unique feature could be the ability to chomp through the air -- picture Yoshi's Egg Roll, but traveling mid-air, and able to pivot 90 degrees to chase opponents horizontally and vertically. He could also chew enemies, spit out pellets like watermelon seeds, belch up ghosts that zigzag across the screen... He could dribble himself like a basketball or launch himself forward like a human cannonball. And of course, for his Final Smash he could power up and chase enemies around the screen. His stage would be a neon maze like the kind seen in Championship Edition.

That game, it should be said, is amazing. Even if it weren't, Pac-Man's credentials are sky-high. He is one of the great-granddaddies of the arcade scene, right up there with Donkey Kong himself. He is one of an increasingly small handful of characters that are truly universally recognizable -- part of Smash Bros' original appeal as a concept. He also recently co-starred with Mario and company in yet another Mario Kart Arcade Grand Prix. And of course, he's the mascot of Bandai-Namco, the guys doing the heavy-lifting on these latest installments of Smash Bros.

It's mind-boggling, all the reasons he should be in. And I'm sure he will be in -- he was listed by someone predicting six newcomers, four of which have come true, three of which came true at E3, and two of which were completely unlikely by the common "wisdom" of the collective Smash Bros. community at the time, yet came to be.

Pac-Man is coming.

his jump can turn him into a 2d wakka wakka model that eats pellets vertically

Ugh, so true, let's hope they don't make it like that, he looks so annoying and doesn't feel like Pac-Man at all.

Something like this would be really cool and I'm sure it would be like this:

Ok now I'm actually hyped for Pac-Man right now haha.

Thinking about it, Sega put a weird amount of work in to making Sonic brand-identifiable to just change his design.

Like, they paid for his role in Wreck-It Ralph and it didn't even really make sense.

Did people forget that the prediction was an anonymous tip that Sal Romano got? It wasn't an actual prediction.

The "prediction": http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=62304489&postcount=2996

The article by the poster who runs Gematsu: http://gematsu.com/2013/06/wii-fit-trainer-joins-super-smash-bros

Well that makes it even more believable!

I probably would have been hesitant about the idea of ROB or Game 'n' Watch too, and even if Pac Man is in and is awesome I probably won't use him, he just doesn't sound fun.

That's called personal preference, and it's OK :)

Side special and up special could be the same move in different directions.
Side- Pac Man turns into a sprite of his arcade self, a row of 4 pellets appears and he follows them in a straight line, hitting anyone in the way
Up- The same, but straight up

Down- Pac Man whips out a sheet of paper, scribbles a Pac Man on it, and releases it, the Pac-Pix hobbles around attacking in a small area around Pac Man for a few seconds. Can continuously spam the special button and he'll continue to draw and release Pac-Pix, each one getting smaller and weaker until his pencil becomes too short, shrugs and he flings it harmlessly over his shoulder (not a projectile, just a visual effect)
Neutral- Pac Man opens his mouth. You can move Pac Man slowly while his mouth is open and anyone caught is eaten like Wario's special.

I dunno

Now that you got me thinking about it, Wonder Red has great potential as a Smash character. I'd love to see him in the game.

Okay, I'm getting pretty excited about this Nintendo Direct!
