Dem Palutena teases. Calm down, you guys. She's pretty much a lock by now. They're just teasing to build interest. And it's working.
That said, I feel pretty confident about Ridley as well. Lots of Metroid references, but auspiciously no reference to Ridley? Pretty much says it all.

If Sakurai wanted to put in a brand new Pokemon that debuted in Generation VI, Greninja was the obvious best choice. I was kind of hoping for Blaziken or Gardevoir with mega evolution. Oh well.

I'm saddened by the fact that Pokemon Trainer has been pushed aside though - he was one of my favorites in Brawl.
And most importantly, where is Jigglypuff? I can't play no Smash Bros without dat sucker!

I think they were pretty clear on the fact that Ridley is a boss character on Pyrosphere stage.

Hm. Not sure how I feel about that frog thing.
Was hoping the rest of the pokemon original trio would be announced. Bulbasaur and Squirtle... They'll be in right? This game seems to be pulling assets from everywhere, so hard to imagine they'd cut them.

well he said no character would involve changing/transformations anymore. so maybe they will have Squirtle and Ivysaur, but I doubt it (greninja has some water attacks so may negate Squirtle)

Did not see 3DS version coming out first... weren't they heavily implying for months that Wii U version would be out first?
Not sure if the Wii U version is coming out so much later it'll be worth it if it has the same fighters... I'm hoping they pushed back the Wii U version for some big added features/modes to make up for it.

Agreed. I haven't played Pokemon since the 3rd gen and that still got me hyped. Greninja looked good, regardless of its origin.

That megaman final smash was fucking amazing. Was there Sonic music in the direct at any point? I kind of missed it.
When Greninja stood up on the tree branch and I realized what I was looking at, I said "F@#$ YES." He looks INCREDIBLE. One of my favorite Pokémon and a key part of my team in XY. I wonder if he is Protean...
Also, Final Destination versions of each stage is FANTASTIC.
Zero Suit Samus, Sheik and Charizard being separated into their own full-fledged characters is FANTASTIC.
Smash Run, in particular the huge variety of enemies, looks FANTASTIC.
They more or less confirmed Ridley is a boss hazard in Pyrosphere. They trolled us with Pseudo-Palutena -- this, along with Pit having his Final Smash changed to the Three Sacred Treasures (as I've repeatedly predicted here) more or less solidifies Palutena as a newcomer.
They confirmed playable male Wii Fit Trainer. We saw Final Smashes for all of the newcomers. Lots of Assist Trophies, Poké Ball Pokémon, Items, Stages. Online looks excellent. 60 fps for all gameplay is excellent. Summer 2014 release for 3DS version followed by WiiU in winter 2014, while probably not in the WiiU's best interest, is also excellent.

I'd say it's guaranteed, the 3DS has it's own game mode so the WiiU will as well.
Awesome direct wasn't expecting much but i was blown away , they just showed what they needed to show. Also i lost it at the ridley(boss) and palutena references (at least you know sakurai reads what you want lol).
I think zero suit will be my favorite character from now on <3

Greninja is a damn good choice.
But god damn it. Why is nobody talking about how stupid nintendo is with releasing the 3DS version BEFOR the WiiU version.
