This direct delivered and more.

Sucks the Wii U version comes after the 3ds but don't care gonna buy both day one launch day midnight motherfucker

Why a scumbag cap? :P This looks unbelievably awesome, but I'm still not going to buy a Wii U at the current price. I've said it since the beginning: Zelda U is the only game I'm buying to buy it for.

I'm part of the problem.
But I'm a poor college boy, so I'm excused.

Everything else about this direct did get me excited but the jury's still out on hitstun.

Custom move sets makes me really curious how far you can take it but I already know tournaments won't allow it lol.

I think the 3DS version is coming out first because A) it's probably done and B) Nintendo's panicking about YOY 3DS sales in Japan and doesn't have any other big summer anchors.

I kinda held out hope that when Sakurai dropped the bit about no transformation characters he'd later pull out an exception. Splitting Zelda/Sheik and the Samuses makes perfect sense, but PT was all about switching, and was so much fun for it.

Also, while I appreciate the skinned Final Destinations, I really wish For Glory weren't FD-only. C'mon dude, it's not that hard to pick a few varied-but-sane stages!

That's right, air your grievances, it's all right. Get the few you have out. That was an INSANE direct though.
 
Mixed feelings about this direct.

Ugh, so crappy online experience again? Can I just play an online team battle with a friend (offline/online) against random people with agreeable rules, without waiting for someone to respond to a message on a board? :/

3DS gets an exclusive mode, yet Wii U gets nothing but a late release (dat drought).

Character reveals and details were awesome tho. I'm so glad my Zero Suit Samus is back, looking better than ever! I was gutted when Sakurai said she wasn't in. Well played. Wonder what her FS will be now. Custom moves sound awesome too!

Guess I'll have to pick up the 3DS version. >_<

The lose of a down b and the stamina mechanics really hampered PT. And with identical rosters on both systems, it look like transformations were too much for the 3DS.

And they also probably realized balancing that kind of character is a nightmare + loading times.

I actually remember saying how Greninja will be a great choice for Smash back in Feb on a different forum along with him using substitute and water shurikens.

Elecman as an assist trophy, Mega Man Classic teaming up with his X, Legends, Battle Network, & Star Force counterparts for his Final Smash....

Not that Zero Suit Samus was a well designed character before but her new design just awful. I like the moveset changes and the fact it's a completely separate character but with every iteration of the character, she gets even higher heels and an even dumber suit.

Also restricting the For Glory mode to Final Destination is really dumb. I'm disappointing that even Sakurai has bought into the Final Destination only bullshit. If they were going to restrict it to one stage, they should have made it Battlefield.
 
The online sounds exactly the same as brawls: Options when you're playing with friends and absolutely fucking nothing for people playing by themselves. Why can't I customize matching in solo online mode? Why?

Oh? It's only timed? That's disappointing. In addition to stocks, he should add "non-hazard" stages.

Everything else was great though. But it looks like for competitive play, the community will still have to set their own rules. The community was so close...
