Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 6: Final Destination confirmed for not fun

Yea it would be odd for him to tease so hard and make Ridley nothing more than a stage hazard. Although this is also the man who said " just because you try hard doesn't mean you get to join the battle", so who knows lol. I feel like all characters having Alts is pretty much given at this point so female villager is a shoe in.
Yeah but he outright denied Waluigi, never teased it. The only two characters he's been trolling with are Ridley and Palutena. Im more than sure about Palutena being playable.

I don't know why this makes me so happy. Just love seeing so many characters, big or small, getting some well-needed attention in Smash.

I don't get you stock with 4 player FFA, do you like losing first and just sitting there watching your friends play? What kind of experience is that? Time does three things

1- Keeps all 4 people playing the entire match, no one has to sit out and watch

2- Forces all players to be aggressive to get kills or else they can't score

3- Prevents ganging up on anyone who isn't in first, far too often have I see stock matches turn into 2 guys pick off a weak player to make it a straight 1 on 1

Just finished watching and GOD DAMN, I never expected Sakurai to pause the video for a fap break.
That Life on ZSS mmmmmmmmm.

you act like players don't fix #2 and #3 themselves by teaming up on anyone who tries to camp

I'm curious -- is Greninja popular among Pokémon fans or big in the anime? It just seems like a completely random character to include.

That requires the players to actually be good enough to stop the camper which doesn't always happen. When I've been in groups who wanted to play stock, I picked a speedy character, camped while bitching until we moved to time and I always won even if they 3 v 1'd me because anytime you try to team on someone who's playing to not lose you hurt each other more then you hurt the guy you're going after

I haven't played Pokemon in years. Can anyone tell me what this Greninja is like?

Greninja is the final form of the water-type starter for Pokemon X and Y. It's unique among the water starters for being a powerful, but frail Special attacker. Its hidden ability alters its type to whatever move it's attacking with. Though I doubt that latter trait is going to be incorporated in any way.

Just finished watching the direct and skimming through the thread. Here are the things that stood out to me:

- Final Destination mode for the stages. Maybe they'll announce a Fox mode for every character later? ohohoho
- the 3DS version's looking pretty good. I don't know how I feel about the 30 FPS assists though. Not feeling confident about the online play
- I totally called the customized movesets
- Ridley trolling. He doesn't even show him. What a guy!
- Mega Man's final smash is the best thing ever
- Little Mac being a monster on the ground and having no air game at all is a very interesting dynamic. He's either gonna be real broken or just plain gimped. Getting that smash ball is gonna be a pain in the ass I bet
- Waluigi plushie
- I don't like zero suit's jet boots. It looks like she stepped in a puddle of urine. It just looks off
- Who the fuck's greninja
- Where the hell's wario?

Anyway, I'm just glad to see more of the game in motion and this direct delivered.

Really really upset about the cutting of Red. I like Greninja (a lot), but the switching mechanic of Red really captured the heart of Pokemon (could've done without stamina though).

RIP in peace Ivysaur and Squirtle :(

Also what have you done to Olimar? I would've been okay with the only 3 Pikmin rule if Rock Pikmin had been included.

Greninja seems to be the starter everybody thinks is the best. Personally I like them all the with Chesnaught being my favorite. In the Anime Ash has a Froakie. And competitively it's one of the most used Pokemon due to it's Hidden Ability Protean allowing it to change its typing to the move used. And Ninja Frog and dat design.

I only like time when there's a huge skill gap between players. Whenever you have your 4 year old nephew and niece over, and either will cry if they're out of the match early. That sort of thing.

I see sitting out as your punishment for losing. Continuing to play is more of a motivation than actually winning the match. (That comes up when rotating 1v1 stock matches too. Winner stays in, the real goal is to continue playing).

Fair point on aggression, but I feel like the loss of control you have over the results outweighs it. Even if you get your kills, another player can beat you without ever interacting with you by killing someone else faster. In stock mode, if you lose it was because you screwed up.

Strategically choosing targets and potentially ganging up is the fun of free for alls, to me. Ideally, everyone should swarm the strongest player, balancing things out.
