Okay, so there's 2 Namco Arcade game based objects in the game - Galaga enemies and the flag from Rally X. Both are early 80s Namco classics, much like Pac-Man. As a matter of fact Rally X and Pac-Man's arcade machines shared the same type of system board.
The 3DS version releasing this summer is huge in terms of news going forward, it means we will know the entire roster by the end of the summer considering both versions have the same cast. At that point, the only thing remaining is Wii U exclusive content such as stages and whatever else Sakurai has cooking up.
Seems like he's trying to avoid "transformation" characters altogether. Where a character -> another character (not a powerup like mega form or super sonic).

The fuzziness is a cute touch. Smash Bros Wii U looks wonderful from a purely visual standpoint. Vibrant colors, expressive animations, and everything has so much detail. I'm really happy with the art direction in this game.
The Smash direct brought a bunch of nice surprises, awesome reveals, and funny teases. The game was looking strong before today, but it just got that much harder to wait for.

Dang, there are a TON of items this time around.
Unlikely. They are too tall compared to Megaman. An alternate costume would have to keep similar proportions to the base character.

I would imagine AT (the one shot of Fox getting "abducted" seems very AT-y to me), but we don't know. It's by the way the same thing these guys do in Galaga. They're some sort of command ship.

Yeah, there is no way the other Mega Man's would work as alternates given their size differences to classic Mega Man. For alts I could see a classic "Rock" skin working or maybe Proto Man if they scale his size down like in Mega Man: Powered Up. (I was actually surprised to see Elec Man get chosen as an Assist Trophy over Proto Man)
