I'd love Ridley as much as anyone else (or maybe not, apparently), but this Ridley circle-jerk is starting to get ridiculous. It started out as a joke and now people are actually acting like they will only be satisfied if he's in the game.

it's not just him it's that there is little real heavy hitters and more characters no one asked for ( wii fit trainer, choir guy, grenninja,rosalina) yes they have good move sets but the characters itself are not that interesting.

I agree, but I think the Chorus Men is a poor choice. So many other Rhythm Heaven characters that are way cooler.

As a joke? Ridley was one of the most requested characters for Smash since forever. Sure, for a time so was Geno for some inexplicable reason, but people really do want Ridley playable. Hell, I want playable Ridley, high time Metroid got a new playable repressentative.

I mean the exaggerated Ridley bandwagon thing kind of started as a joke. It started off as a light hearted "Ridley? No Ridley don't care" and now it seems people are legitimately angry when any newcomer isn't Ridley.

Not that interesting to you. Every new character reveal so far has been met with tons of praise, with the exception of Wii Fit Trainer (Although, I think the vast majority have warmed up to her/him and are stoked about it).

Disagree. I would consider Little Mac a "heavy hitter". I would also say that about Chrom, Shulk and Palutena if they are confirmed. Plus, even though no one asked for Greninja he's a cool surprise and one of the more popular pokemon from X/Y.

The only major characters they are missing from already represented series right now are Ridley and K. Rool. These new character choices therefore aren't that surprising in their outlandishness and not necessarily bad because of it.

Earlier I had linked my little brother the direct and he was quite irate about Ridley's exclusion and Charizard's inclusion. He feels Ridley should either be a clone of Charizard or Charizard should be cut for Ridley. I just... don't get it.

Chorus men is an odd choice since they belong to just one game. Karate Joe, Night Walk guy (Marshall) and the samurai would be far more appropriate and they have had wider appearances. Night Walk even being referenced outside the games such as with the DSi music player visualiser.

Actually the most recent out of game reference was with the RH hat found in Mii Plaza and that was a monkey.

Looks closer to the Fusion/Zero mission style of under-clothing, but honestly I prefer the full body suit to the bare midriff/arms.
