You could definitely swim in Jungle Japes' water in Brawl. It just didn't help much because of the current. They took it out of PM's version, though.

Ice Climbers aren't going anywhere but I'm worried about Snake not returning.
I think it was pointed out yesterday that Sheik now has grenade skills similar to Snake.

Ike could still be in but Squirtle and Ivysaur are most likely removed.

It was but I think he/she's talking about Sakurai stating that Ridley was an actual stage hazard instead of teasing it.

There are a handful and it's hard to see them all. Most notably in my eyes is Snivy, which I think all but deconfirms Serperior as being our Grass Starter.

Yeah, I really wonder what the intent of that is. If it's stock, everyone will focus the highest stock. If it's time, everyone will focus the easy target. It's not like you'll know the players you're playing with online, so you can't bully people together.

There are tons of reasons he didn't show it. I think it's a bit self-centered to think that it's to 'tease people who want ridley playable.'

It could be akin to the 'guess the trophy', where casual people might say 'oh man, i wonder who that is!?' because they honestly don't know, and then fans will be like 'oh my god it's ridley, how cool!' -- This is what i'm honestly guessing his intent was. The shadow was a 'tease' of ridley being a stage boss, and nothing more

It could also be to hide 'which version' of ridley it is. "Is it the prime version, the super metroid version, the other M version!? You'll have to wait and see!"

I honestly think he had no ill intent, and it's nothing more than just a 'tee hee, you know who it is!' and nothing more. Everyone here is looking at it from the perspective that ridley should be playable, which is why everyone is assuming it's a tease of his character reveal later.

I don't find this to be completely true simply because of the way he handled ZSS. In the direct they did a complete fakeout with her. Oh she's not in- JUST KIDDING!

Speaking of, I think Isaac's a really good bet now since his AT wasn't shown off and he's pretty much the last Brawl AT that could be playable.

Release date for 3DS (July/August), reaffirmation of winter for Wii U
Connectivity between 3DS/Wii U
More details of customization and profiles ('Name' associated with custom versions of characters, for example)
Remaining 'starting roster' (guessing 3 newcomers[Chrom, Palutena, Pac-Man], 3 veterans [Wario, Ike, Ice Climbers]) - all other characters are secret
More detail of online modes
More single player modes (classic mode, adventure mode, all star mode)

We'll get another direct shortly after the 3DS game comes out to show us why we should also buy the Wii U version. (other than big screen and hd and couch co op)

Yeah, the one we saw during the direct was certainly a stage hazard due to the size and never landing on the ground, but isn't there canonically more than one Ridley? I'm not huge on Metroid (at all, really), but that's enough to confirm that Sakurai's just continuing to troll everyone into thinking the exact opposite of what's to happen.
