Man after Direct I crashed hard on my bed. (stayed awake for like 30 something hours just for the direct). Now I gotta catch up with all these pages. @_@

Nintendo held a poll asking which Hunters character they would most like to see get a spinoff game and Sylux won. Unfortunately he never got his game, but he did get a cameo in the secret ending of Prime 3 that went completely unresolved.

Even if the fight was mastered, it should look interesting. Then again, I think 3D Zelda combat is old, stale, and incompetent.

LOL, I just watched this for the first time and you are totally right about Sakurai stealing this idea of jet heels from that Monty Oum guy. (She even has the handstand Helicopter kick from the vid as a move in Sm4sh!)
For me this is basically true of every Zelda game, 2D or 3D, with the sole exception of Skyward Sword.
Thankfully I don't play Zeldas for the combat.

Talking about Metroid reps, I'd actually love to have a Space Pirate or Zebesian of some kind.
But of course... they're pretty much just a generic enemy so there's nothing to hope for.
There's Weavel of course, but he's just a lesser Hunters character where Sylux was always more prominent... and he's not as cool as normal Space Pirates anyways. =/ I wish they'd make a cool character pirate

There's never been any confirmation that that's Sylux's ship. If it is his ship, it has definitely changed since its appearance in Hunters. Either way, I don't know if that cliffhanger will ever be answered.

So the Ridley tidbit. Part of him is shown for a fraction of a second. The color is grey. Regular Ridley ain't grey. The entirety of regular Ridley is Purple. It ain't the tail. Too big for the tail piece. And it is aligned with the shadow of the left wing. And off hue for Other M Ridley.
My verdict? It has to be Meta Ridley or it's a rather hard to place tail of Other M Ridley.
I am in denial and only Sakurai can prove me right or wrong. Grump grump.

It's hard to tell (Like most Pirate tech in Prime 3).
It's pretty clearly the Other M tail blade.
Really hoping the melee vets and some brawl vets are buffed enough.
Yeah pretty much all of the Pirate technology in Corruption had an "organic" aesthetic: for example, the turrets and the crawltanks. I think it's safe to say that Ridley is still a cyborg in that game since he's still titled "Meta" in the first fight and has noticeable metallic armor, namely around the heart, in the second fight.

If you understand the reference, Ridley/whoever else you want for Metroid will be in Smash 4
If Prime 4 was made and had Sylux play a major part, he could have a good chance to get in in the next Smash after these ones

Well there's no debate he's much more of a cyborg in the second fight. In the first he looks organic with cyborg wings and phazon corruption making him glow. It's hard to tell. You can see through his skin.

There is a part of me that would consider the fact that they put Skarmory as a stage boss on a Metroid stage to be absolutely hilarious, if only to see the saltiness that would arise.
Too soon to tell ofcourse but looking at Rosa, Mac and Greninja...I can see it happening again >_>.

If FD only gets accepted into the competitive community in any way, Little Mac might have a fun time.
Even more so if the new ledge mechanics manage to make the ground game more important, shifting the balance to ground based fighters rather than air based fighters

Definatly feels that way for Palutena and Ridley. I personally am almost 100% sure Ridley is even after they showed off his "boss". And Palutena is obvious since she's such a great character and Sakurai worked on Kid Icarus.
Tiki - I don't know much about Fire Emblem (plan to get Awakening later this year.) but doesn't that trophy kinda look like a final smash trophy? Then again the leak says Chrom is in, and I doubt there will be two newcomers for Fire Emblem. Of course the leak could be wrong, but if its really from the same person who said the possible E3 characters...then yeah. I tend to really believe it.
Fi - I have no idea how this will work. I know someone was mocking it in the Greninja thread, but I really believe that Mario, Side Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon will all have the same amount of characters like in Brawl. (As in slots, not counting something like Pokemon Trainer as 3 characters lol.) so unless there is another Mario newcomer, two new Side Mario newcomers, or Mewtwo/Pokemon Newcomer, then this doesn't add up. (Yes, I know I'm just talking out've my ass now but I'm going with it.) Of course, the most logical solution to this is to simply replace Ganondorf with Demise. Everyone wants Ganondorf to have a moveset that makes sense and they could do a newcomer, and more sword focused character villain at the same time. I do not believe that Girahim would replace Ganondorf.

If I'm right in predicting 5 characters for Mario, Side Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon, and if all Brawl veterans return minus Snake, Squrtle, and Ivysaur, then that brings the roster upto 48 characters. Add in Ridley, and a 5th Side Mario character and you got 50 characters with a very wide random button at the bottom of the character select screen. The 5th Side Mario character would likely be a DK rep and I would've thouht it would've been Dixie before this direct, and I'd rather have Dixie anyday, but with the kremlings I just dunno. I would rather have Dixie, but honesly it seems it would be K.Rool. Why else add Kremlings to Smash Run? Retro seems like they just want to get away from them, so it seems like Sakurai himself added them on. If he did that, he may have listend to fans and added K.Rool as a third DK rep.
That brings the roster upto 50 characters. Guys, Ithink I may have completely guessed the roster omg.

It would be amazing if somehow, the two versions had different tier lists.
Mega Man's looking really really strong too, with tons of quick projectiles and hard hitting close quarters moves. Mac I could see being brutal on FD. Rosalina, not sure yet. She's a very unique character. Haven't seen enough of Greninja to really guess.

After spending an hour trying to figure out the size of the Ridley model shown I've come to a couple conclusions:
1. He looks gigantic compared to Pikachu. The small part of him we see is the size of Pikachu's model, and height from top to bottom is bigger than Pika (Note: due to it being angled the height was slightly bigger than the diagonal).
2. The model is brand new and not used before. The parts we see are a grayish color, but the part we see doesn't match up with any other model I've seen so far. We're seeing the wings tips it looks, not the tail end- and the tips don't look to be in a similar shape to those in Brawl or Other M.
3. It's actually hard to figure out how big he actually is. If the wings flapping come down he's just out of screen, which means his wingspan is huge. The video is also taken at an angle, making it hard to compare to anything but Pikachu.
Conclusion: I wasted an hour of my time because I have no new information or actual conclusions in my own head. And I don't even care about Ridley, I'm just coming down off hype still.

Okay, but it got Greninja.

Well, his skin looks healthier compared to before. It's not see-through anymore. So he does look a bit regenerated. But his tail and wings are completely artificial now whereas earlier in the game they looked organic apart from the wing flaps, and he's wearing cybernetic armor all over. He was probably badly damaged falling into Norion's core and had to be regenerated from a charred husk.
