Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 6: Final Destination confirmed for not fun

LMAO!

How are we going to go back to just one pic of the day after yesterday?!

Me too! I would love to see that happening. :)

We'll probably get a sticker.
Still better than what TW101 is likely to get
.

I have no idea what game that is, but a god damn T-Rex as an assist trophy? Yes please.

It's Fossil Fighters, a monster collection RPG, where the monsters are colorful dinosaurs, like this:

Of course, it's on 3DS, so the in-game stuff looks more like this:

Actually laughed out loud in my office.

I checked out Demise. He looks pretty badass, but goddamn is that final fight lame. As a Ganondorf main, I would be fine with the replacement.

He was, but he was on the mark about a month before release.

I'm talking about the earlier and lesser known Kensk, another well-regarded leaker who leaked other things before in the past. He was right about most of the roster, but later on he got sorta misinformed: He said that the roster was going to have over 40 characters (it didn't), and that it'd include things like an "unexpected 2nd series rep" and Frank West. After the game actually released he sorta dropped off the face of the earth. Oddly enough, all those things did come true in Ultimate.
No, Kensk was not a leaker. He was a fraud. I exposed him on GFAQs several months after UMvC3 released. He was a regular GFAQs poster and on my PSN friends list. He confessed that he was lying the entire time. Then he came up with new stuff and promised it was real.

Lupinko leaked the entire roster early. People just didn't pay attention to him until later.

I actually wrote a history of the leaks and then scrapped it. I followed the whole thing closely.

If POTD continues, since we've had such a blowout of information it's either going to continue the stream of substantial information, or regurgitate stuff we've already seen in the Direct, or press-kits. Hopefully we still get lots of juice in the lead up to summer. It's crazy to think the game will be released in the next four months (hopefully), even if it's the version I wasn't AS hype for (I am expecting lots of blisters).

That looks fun, I hope they localize the game. I had no clue what was going on in the battle videos though. Were they mashing buttons to use items that up their stats?

Basically, yeah. The play controls one of the Dinos, the other two are NPC friends who battle with you. You mash buttons to increase stats or heal HP or status effects. You can do that for the CPU characters and they can do it for you, though. Each dino is one of five types and all their moves are of that type and vary in base power and the stance of each dino (so some attacks are stronger if your opponent is flying, or facing backwards).

I'm willing to avatar bet that Ridley will be playable. 1 month long. First Come First Serve.

Ridley will obviously be the pre-order bonus at Game Stop for the Wii U version.

Lots of easy guesses. It's been announced Namco is helping with the game, Sakurai has a bias for games he's worked on and pokemon is fucking pokemon. "Leakers" get a lot of the benefit of the doubt because anything they're wrong about just "hasn't been announced yet" until the game is finally out. And for someone with insider information, completely missing out on predicting Rosalina is a big red flag.

The only thing that gives any real credit is WFT, and that was only a week before E3 where she was revealed. That might have been a legit leak since there are a lot of hands involved setting up a trade show, but I don't think that gives this guy a blank check considering he's missed out on predicting Rosalina and made vague, open-ended prediction about "pokemon from x/y".

How can you hold that against him since he didn't "predict" one character? If this is the case, why are you not holding him against the fact that he didn't leak the entire roster?

IDK he def got 3 out of 6 the first time. He comes out with a 2nd leak and he gets Pokemon X&Y which I bet he's unfamiliar with. People wrote the 2nd rumor off as soon as they say PKMN X&Y.... Then boom, Greninja confirmed.

Keep in mind that this Direct didn't have to confirm anybody. Dude got lucky that Greninja was shown. I think this is one of the most legit leaks from one of the tightest secret locked games in history.

So does anyone else think Little Mac looks really OP?

He is very strong on the ground but weak with aerial attacks so I can imagine people would try to throw him into the airs and juggling him as they can. If the juggling is in the game.

I agreed. I'm pretty sure that we will get many rehashed informations after press kits overloaded.

REALLY like this theory honestly. I was thinking demise or him but since fi was shown as well as fake palutena... but then what would the opposite of the fire emblem girl or that metroid monster be?

I don't know if those ones were hints in that way, but maybe to hint at the games a new character may be coming from? I'm not that familiar with Fire Emblem so I wouldn't know much about the first trophy. And as for the Metroid trophy I'll I can see is that link to Other M..any ideas?

If we get an Other M rep, then it will most likely be either Adam or Anthony. Anthony is the only Metroid newcomer that isn't called Ridley, Rhundas, or Dark Samus that I would be happy with

I don't think the "opposite" thing necessarily holds true, I think the trophies are just hinting that newcomers from that series will pop up. And again, they played Ridley's theme during the Kihunter trophy. Not that boss' own boss theme.

Tiki (The FE trophy) is a Manakete (Dragons that change into a human form) from Awakening. If I haven't read wrong she's also shown up in other FE games

I dunno. Little Mac has a built in Final Smash attack.

I'm just glad Sonic is back in. The game looks absolutely gorgeous by the way.

But Nintendo, really, where is Game and Watch?

While rewatching the Direct I noticed something I thought was pretty interesting during the part near the end where they run through all the characters: With the exception of Peach and Bowser -- who are swapped around -- the characters up to the newcomers are shown in order of their placement in the Instance Slots of Brawl.

Well the Ridley theme is actually the only discernible music in the entirety of Other M, which that boss trophy is taken from.

He seemed really unimposing.

I mean, if you're watching a video, you're probably watching someone who has mastered the game mechanics and recorded an instance where they're doing awesome. I found the fight really intense and fun and required really good execution of the swordfighting system. I can't remember a Zelda final boss that was more than just thematically intimidating.

It's actually a pretty amazing fight. When I realized
that I could use my sword as a lightning rod and hurl bolts of lightning at him
I had a braingasm.

It's actually my favorite final fight in the series, especially from a gameplay perspective.

I would go with Spirit Tracks from an overall perspective, but Skyward Sword and Wind Waker are up there.
