I can't summon Lucatiel anymore. We killed the Sentry, and I've talked to her everywhere, but, see won't appear in the Gulch and I can't summon her for the Rotten. She's still in the Bastille Tower, and repeats the same thing. What did I do wrong? I want that achievement and it's pissing me off.

Pretty sure you have to see her somewhere else before black gulch. What's the other place she shows up other than the final place?

Did you talk to her in
gulch? You can do both, talk to her and then summon her there.

Also, possible infinite soul trick:
in the undead crypt you let the zombie ring the bell and just keep killing the acolytes. They don't seem to have a spawn limit.
Someone let me know if that's wrong.

There are a couple enemies that seem to endlessly spawn.
those are a good one, as you can pretty easily one hit kill them, but the statues next to the first castle bonfire drop slabs and never stop spawning as far as I can tell; I killed on 16 times in a row intentionally to test it, I had previously killed that one several times and have killed it again several times so if it ever stops spawning its a very high number of respawns.

Really? The
room with the small spear statues and the ruin sentinals
? I didn't know that!

I've fully upgraded my weapons (crypt gs, ss staff and caithe chime) but now have to upgrade my gear. Which will be almost impossible, since as a hex build almost all my gear requires twinkling titanite! In fact I think all casting gear is twinkling, which really sucks as no merchant has unlimited supply.

in some ways, this was a much easier game, in other ways, much more difficult and sometimes a bit tedious (at the end, i REALLY had to push myself to kill all the bosses)

feels like a 7/10-8/10, while previous ones more 9/10
Yup.

Too many bosses IMO....took away the impact and wow factor. Ive said it before and I will say it again.

While this game is great (my 3rd favorite of the generation..Demon's and Dark 1 and 2 respectively), it feels more like a supurb imitation of a masterpiece of art. The designers put stuff in there not knowing WHY it was in there to begin with.

Dark had 1 secret passage? We have 2! Demon's had 5 bosses, this has 10 bosses! (For example)

The bosses are the best part, IMO. Less is not always more, in this case. One cohesive package, DS2 is my fave.

That's odd, I thought she immediately leaves the Bastille when you finish her dialogue. Is she summonable in Sinner's Rise?

Think I'm gonna have to come back to
Darklurker

Wasting a lot of effigies just getting there, and even then you have to fight 5 or so reasonably difficult enemies on the way

I don't really understand the bonfire placements in this game.

You've got easy bosses with bonfires right next to the fog gate, and difficult bosses that are a pain in the arse to get to.

Im glad you enjoyed it! I did as well...I hope others keep buying it up and enjoy it as well so From makes more of them!

That said, Im the polar opposite (and probably in the minority here). I enjoy the levels more than boss fights in Souls games. Hence why Demon's, DS1, DS2 in that order.

Demon's had difficult levels that were long and grueling...to then open a short cut up at the end to get a straight shot at the boss. Dark...not AS long as grueling, but design (metrodvania) was outstanding for 3/4 of the game. DS2 had a lower emphasis on levels with bonfires closer, warping, and few shortcuts.

My character is now level 300 thanks to that
Giant Lord
boss bonfire farming technique. Best part is it gives you another bonfire ascetic, so you can repeat all day long! I could actually try to get to level 400 now, certainly wouldn't be hard. :lol

I'd imagine they likely patch that out, at least the extra bonfire ascetic there.

Anyways, after level 300, I decided to create a new character. Decided for a starting deprived run. Currently have focus in Str/Dex so I can use the Fire Longsword. Now that the 1st boss is done for, going to start focusing on making another Cleric build, but this time be pure Miracle based. Curious to see how my character would do at level 150, if I stopped leveling up at that point. Though I do love how high I can level up, I've be interested how this character might do as a PVP build.

I pulled the level too! But only because I was about to go onto NG++. Was kinda disappointed in how weak and lack of souls you get for defeating him. Sure it be a different story if I stayed around. lol

are you some kind of soul junkie? it's just souls and levels from you all day, lol.

It's all good! A Souls fan is a Souls fan.

I regret pulling the lever.

LOL I didn't do it through my first playthough, but I am going for it on this one.

Finally able to post in this thread. Beat the game already and made a new file. Heard NG+ isn't for the mentally unstable so I strayed away and gonna stay with my new file.

I want my character to be a boxer but its becoming difficult with no adaptability... Any recommendations with Caestus? I'm juicing my guy on Strength only for now.

Ha, some guy I fought in Iron Keep went behind the one entrance and hid behind the corner to ambush me. I blocked but he still hit me from the side. I backed up and pulled my Avelyn on him and hit him. He retorted by pulling out dual Avelyns with magic bolts. I was blocking everything with my shield, and the slow recovery time from his Avelyns allowed me to make quick work of him.

Wow, and here I thought planning to hit 200 would be a stretch lol. How easy was it at 300?

You get the Bluemoon Greatsword from him, aka the Fake Moonlight Greatsword. Lol.

You have to beat Freja on NG++ and get the soul she gives to make the MLGS.

Or just Bonfire Ascetic and get it in NG. Works with Chaos Blade too
and no asshole pyromancers in the way.

Hey Hitcher :D

pick an easier/short portal! You can fight him at the end in all three of them.

Going to ask in here since I can't find it anywhere online.

Does anyone know of any lightning-infused weapons that scale more than B with lightning? Just curious, currently rocking a blacksmith's hammer +10 since it's base STR and DEX requirements are low and it has a horizontal moveset.

Defenders greatsword

Just wondering what tips people have on dodging H
avel's(?)
swing attacks which tracks no matter when you Initiate a dodge? I had to spam lightning spears to beat him, couldn't melee at all.

Oh, Dark Souls. I haven't played it for awhile 'cause life started to get a little crazy but today I was able to sit down, relax and get back in it again. Now, before I stopped playing I was in
The Gutter on my NG+ run (which has been so damn easy thus far)
and ended up dying because I totally bungled a jump in the most hilarious of ways and proceeded to lose around 400k+ souls. Of course I didn't forget that so I made my way back to get my souls back. As I'm making my way through someone sends me a text so I take a look at it and then toss my phone beside me and proceed to run right off
the edge right beside one of the bridges in the area
and lose all those souls... I don't even.

Kind of sat there for a minute or two and then started laughing. Fuck.

I consider myself a totally adequate melee fighter and good at dodging. But that H
avel
... Christ on a stick he was impossible for me to deal with up close. I had to spam Great Resonant Soul from afar every time to beat him.

What are the biggest secrets you've found? Areas? Passages? Doors? I'm playing offline, just completed the game and might want to go check out some secrets that I probably missed.

Have you tried deleting the game data and re-installing? It's worth a try.

I'm trying to absolutely avoid that. But, it's like i might have to and it still probably won't work. I don't understand how that could possibly corrupt my save.

What's funny is that is what happened to me when I first started playing the game. I got a locked menu screen and I had to delete my save and start over again.

It's not exactly a secret but using the Crushed Eye Orb sure took me by surprise :lol

Do you have a physical disc version of the game? Check it for scratches or smudges on the surface. My PS3 can be very finicky about that, some games have been manhandled by my kids with smudges all over and they run fine without cleaning, yet I've had some games, like Uncharted 3, that refuse to load with even the slightest and barely noticeable fingerprint on it. That game only runs if the disc is pristine...

As far as the crushed eye orb is concerned:
What exactly did she do? I have no idea, but she said I found out and then I just killed her. I hope this is making sense since I only know of one instance where the crushed eye orb was quivering.

I think I'm going to roll with the Penal Armor Set, from now on. It looks soo cool.

Btw, did anyone see JoeFenix posted his then current stats for his character from his videos?

I'm almost at 200, myself. I need to get that Ring of Blades +2.
