The 3DS version is going to be fantastic. I don't anticipate control issues since the D-Pad should offer accurate controls esp with Smash's directional input system.

The game is pretty much right around the corner. I'm really excited. I see the Wii U version doing extremely well also. As a poster said above, The Wii U version will easily show up the 3DS version and on top of that... Everyone's forgetting its a Winter release. Smack ready for Christmas promotion to boost Wii U sales. Expect another MK8 push during that time as well. Bayonetta will be ready by then also.

It's really weird how some Smash fans on this board attack other fans for playing Smash Brothers a certain way. I see it in almost every Smash related thread including this one. This is a game that gives you a ton of customization options so that you could play the way you want to play, so I don't see why people have to look down on others for playing the way they want to play. You aren't any better by saying that Final Destination only and no item matches aren't fun.

Did people already talk about how Waluigi and Ashley both used the Wario "W" as their logo in the Smash Direct? Only ATs with stages or playable characters used a logo that wasn't the generic Smash ball, so I guess that confirms either Wario or a Wario stage (or both). Not that there's anybody who expected him to get cut, of course.

I also noticed that the logo for the Find Mii stage is a fancy crown... seeing as it'd surely be Mii's home stage, would that imply that a possible Mii character would be taking influence from Find Mii rather than being an amalgamation of moves from different games as some hypothesized? It seems unlikely that they'd use such a specific emblem instead of something more universal otherwise.

Wario, Metaknight, Ice Climbers, Ness/Lucas and Cap Falcon seem to be shoo-in since their franchises appeared in the game.

Wario's icon, Metaknight's stage, Ice Climbers' Polar Bears, Ness/Lucas' Mr. Saturn and Franklin Badge, Falcon's Samurai Goroh.

Same here. I thought it would be Mii or Wii Sport.
 
So, I wonder what they'll reveal after the release of the 3ds version. They have announced many wii u stages already and all the fighters,At and items will be on the 3ds version. At best, they will be released with a three month gap. I can't really think of anything else other than the wii u exclusive modes. Oh and probably the wii u and 3ds connectivity.

Edit: Oh btw I want Zero Suit Samus if nobody else uses her.
 
I imagine that all starter characters will be revealed before the 3DS release date, and the secret characters will be revealed by Sakurai on release day.

Like you said the Wii U exclusive modes. It should have something substantial.

I wouldn't be shocked if the Wii U version got an extra character or two as well.

So, wait, what is Zero Suit Samus' final smash going to be now that she's separate from Varia Samus? I also hope they give Sheik something different from Zelda this time around too.

I'd rather them think about adding it BEFORE the game is out, so they can start work on it sooner than later, rather than look at the rankings later and see that only a select few characters can actually do anything, and by then, maybe the smash team is dissolved, and there is no one left to patch it in.

So I went into gamestop yesterday to try and reserve the game for 3DS, but the guy told me I couldn't because they didn't know yet if the game is going to cost $40 or $50. This was the first I'd heard about a possible increase in price, so will I have to wait for an official announcement of the price from Nintendo before I can reserve it? That seems kinda bogus

Nah, if it's anything like both Melee and Brawl, the secrets will be revealed by release day, of course, but it's by players that manage to break the release date. The official unveil generally only takes place afterwards, although it does come with the official conditions to unlock them and such.

Personally, I think that suggests that there might be no Mii character. It'd seem very odd to focus the Mii characters on that one game. So, the stage having that emblem, rather than a more general one, might just imply that there's no Mii character...

Can I call the next 'uncalled' playable character, if such a thing exists :p

Gamestop gonna Gamestop. $50 sounds like total conjecture from whoever you talked to, $34.99 - $39.99 seems like the actual range.
