I saw 2 people ask for these, so here you go!

That wireframe is pretty awesome.

I went through all of the press images with the hopes and this is what I ended up with. A lot of the pictures look great, but they tend to have very specific composition to take advantage of their wide-screen resolution.

Oh well. This isn't exactly what I wanted but I'm pretty happy with it.

Charizard is free agent (so you can keep it)
Zero Suit Samus for Mister Luffy (if he opt to keep Mario then she could be free agent)
Sheik - OF COURSE! ITS ANTHONY! :P
Yoshi - Poltergust called for it
Greninja already claimed by other member yesterday

Can I claim Mega Charizard X if Neorice ever makes one?

If I was Sakurai choosing pokeball pokemon I'd choose a lot different ones. Id pick 10 pokemon from each generation(combining master ball and pokeball). He seems to pick a lot of random ones like Spewpa. Wtf?

DaBoss, have you done any other Nintendo Direct move explanations? I loved your Little Mac analysis, and since the topic has been moving so quickly over the past few days I feel like I might have missed something.
This is all I've talked about so far

Greninja
Sheik (WebM only)
Villager
Pit (WebM only)
Pikmin & Olimar
Charizard
Yoshiiiiiiiiii
Rosalina & Luma
Diddy Kong and more Pit
Lucario

More fall speed discussion (better than the link below)
Regarding fall speed (WebM only)
Something odd about Marth's Counter and Bowser's Firebreath

New moves with it being straight foward:

Samus' new Neutral Air: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=107755094&postcount=14517

Link's new Up Air: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=107711126&postcount=13769

DK's Dash Attack is now a Roll

Long overdue. Doesn't seem like it will change much. GIF is at 0.5x speed.

Link's Dash Attack is now a Jump Slash

Really neat. More distance covered compared to the previous dash attack. GIF is at 0.5x speed.

Little Mac's Down Smash

Pretty fast and powerful.
It's a picture of the MM stage with yellow devil. Caption is:
Ahh, I see. I guess I have to be logged in to see. Thanks.

I think he'll prefer Mewtwo X.

Seems like a better fit for Smash.

...just confirm Mewtwo already Sakurai. ; _ ;
Mewtwo X would be such a poor choice. Doesn't make sense for him. He's kinda cool, but goes against the normal grain of Mewtwo's specialty.

It's just a final smash though. I just hope M2 makes it at all.

Can someone GIF the Villager jig for me that was at the end of the direct? I don't have the time right now. I was going to do it yesterday but it didn't work out time wise.

So, my brother tells me you can reserve SSB for WiiU and SSB 3DS now on Gamestop's website. WiiU being $59.99 and $39.99 for 3DS. Can someone else confirm?

I really really love how Windy Hill looks as a level. I can tell that one's going to see a lot of use from me.

On the topic of stages though, is it just me or are the stages all IMMENSE in this game? Feels like there's a ton of distance and active area to themselves now.

Some new moves for Sheik.
http://a.pomf.se/kmntay.webm
We see the jabs to finisher used on Mario. And the side tilts being done there don't have anything new, but the effect of cutting through the air looks very nice there.

Then we have the new move, Burst Grenade. It is obviously limited in range (unlike Snake's grenades). And you have control over the trigger as well unlike Snake's. Having a grenade with different properties means nothing. Just look at other characters.

And then we have the Bouncing Fish used on Pit. I don't remember if Sheik's slap was bad in Brawl, but I think it was one of the complaints about Sheik. Maybe this would be like Melee's/PM's slap in terms of knockback. It gives Sheik some more moves to use off-stage which is nice.

I used it many times in PM as a way to kill in PM. The recovery was very helpful. Just don't go far away from the stage.

Brawl Sheik's slap was pathetic. My biggest complaint with her in general was how gimped her kill potential was. In Melee the slap was something to fear as well as many of her other attacks.

Bouncing Fish will be an interesting move in itself though. I kinda imagine it like ZSS's Down B, except Sheik bounces off the enemy when she makes contact.
It will be interesting to see the full move in action.

As for Burst Grenade, I think this will be one of her most unique moves. To me it looks like it has the same trajectory and length as her old Whip. I'm willing to assume that you can throw it out and if you don't let go of the special attack button it will sit there until you release.

Edit: The pre-explosion on Burst Grenade has a suction effect as you can see on Bowser. This is pretty cool since it will pull enemies toward the sweet spot of the move.

Well, like all things we know little of we can still speculate. We've had 6 threads of speculation, so far. Nothing stopping it.

All I saw in the video was Specials. The changes seem to be drastic, in terms of how they are changed. We saw Mario with at least two different versions of his fireball. Those straight bullets, and the large one that hit multiple times. That alone speaks to the range of customization we may have. I can see Sakurai leaving the rest of the moveset, alone.

And again, how is this limited just because you can't play anonymously online with it? I'm not even thinking about that part of online since I know most of the people I'd like to play with. Most living in my same State.

I will froth & speculate all day long about custom movesets, as I've also always wanted this for Sm4sh and called it!

After thinking about Marth's neutral becoming like QuickDraw it made me think that w/ custom specials, Sakurai could give all the veterans their 64 or Melee specials as options. Marth could get his Slashing neutral! This could also be how Sakurai justifies giving Ganondorf energy volleys or sword attacks my god the POSSIBILITIES.

Reminds me of Meta Knight's down smash, little Mac's terrible recovery means he won't be broken though which is a relief.

Never mind the recovery, it's his abysmal air game that will make the difference.

Any stage with a lot of platforms sounds dangerous for him. He'll probably rock wide stages like Windy Hill and Final Destination, but stages like Battlefield will probably be popular counterpicks.

I don't think every character will get alternate costumes. I mean, what sort of things can you really put in for Ice Climbers or Game & Watch?

That said, I hope they have a bunch of alt costumes, and add them for all characters that make sense. PM did it really well, so I hope they meet that expectation.

Stumped on Ice Climbers, though...

I asked this before but I figure it was worth asking again.

I wouldn't be surprised if we got a new Pokemon Stadium stage this time around. Which pokemon types would you want to see represented and how would you want to represent them?

Just to remind everybody in Pokemon stadium 1: Fire, Grass, Water, Rock. Pokemon stadium 2: Electric, Flying, Ground, Ice.

Rewatching the Smash Direct, I think the fact that the Ridley shadow stays in place for a short time and then moves is hinting at him being playable - I haven't seen any Assist Trophy/stage hazard that would move as jerkily (not the right term but I can't think of a better way to describe the motion of a character moving from a still position timed with moving the control stick) as the shadow did in the Direct.

My friend said the same thing and I am inclined to agree. I get what you are trying to say. Basically: if Ridley was an NPC, his animations would have been more fluid when he became stationary and started moving again but instead he came to a stiff, abrupt halt as if a person was controlling him. The reason for him staying in the air could be explained by him having a much longer Peach-like hover jump or actually flying up b.

Watching the Smash Direct again (I have free time and am bored), it's crazy how well edited it is for a Nintendo Direct. There's a sense of comedic timing, the action on screen matches the music, someone legitimately worked on this for a while.

Thanks for those links, DaBoss!

As an aside, the more I think about the Special Flag item, the more I think I might have it figured out.

Just as Master Balls now appear as a rare variant of the Poké Ball, I’m thinking third-party Assist Trophies will be included, and they’ll take on different appearances denoting different companies. These will be very rare — there might be 10% chance a third-party AT will pop up instead of a regular one. It’s also worth pointing out that Charizard’s Special Flag animation matches his AT animation.

A few possible examples:

Special Flag (Namco) - Pac-Man Ghosts, Dig Dug, Galaga, Lloyd Irving

Yashichi (Capcom) - Elec Man, Arthur, Ryu, Felyne

??? (Sega) - Shadow, AiAi, Joe Musashi, Gilius Thunderhead

Oh yea, there are these two pics, I don't think they've been discussed in the thread:

I don't know what this is. I wonder what it is lol.

This looks like a new Up Air. Looks really awkward.

Yea it does. That's really good. Makes it more viable.

Surprised Sakurai changed. As awkward as it look, It does look like it has more range.

Looks like Link being controlled by Motion + :kappa:

I'm not sure what that could be other than a weird version of his Up Air attack.
Maybe he has the Skyward Strike?

Can't even decide which of the arrangements were my favorites, though I currently have the Fairy Fountain/Punch Out ones stuck in my head.

Thanks for those links, DaBoss!

Great theory! Hope you're right.

Yeah, at the very least I definately think the Special Flag is what summons the Galaga bugs.

Also for Sega, why not the TV Monitors from Sonic?

Likely skyward strike. Haven't seen the Master Sword glow before

Or they specifically animated him to hold still for a second so his shadow would be recognizable. Anything's possible though!

Minus.com pls. Stop deleting images.
Looks like he's charging a Skyward Strike.

Yea, it looks like the Skyward Strike. Still, that is one weird way of doing it lol.
Interesting theory. Seems like you are right given Charizard's animation.
Could someone link me to those pics that released after the direct please?
