Oh cool. However after look around I found the differences between the two Haruhi models and it seems the body sizes and head pins have changed size over the years so would the newer disappearance parts still work with the Ryoko body? Otherwise I guess I'll look for a Yuki in the future and just display Haruhi in a winter uniform.
Wierd that they would use the same pose....I kinda like the Max Factory a bit more for some reason. She looks really pale on the Movic version. Maybe it is the pics.
Probably been discussed before, but have you guys ever bought a figure from a series you have never watched/played? I do it once in a while (Blame Amiami's front page). Got the main girl from Mayo Chiki (eventually watched the show) and one of the characters from toheart 2. Was thinking about buying a date a live or Sword art online nendoroid recently.
I love her. So deliciously creepy. The sculpt is great but not perfect, definitely into Bishoujo territory. The paintjob quality is uneven in places but you really need to get up close to see it. Some details are amazing, like her eyes, her tatoo (a wordplay apparently) and her "lips". The most beautiful preying vocaloid ever!
There is one HUGE problem with it though. The base, more specifically the plastic pieces the feet slide into. They do slide into them but do not hold fast, and since her center of gravity is so high up and forward...she tips dangerously when touched. I'm going to put some bluetac in her "socks" and see if her claws stick to it. Her limbs are veeery thin, light and fragile, I'd hate to see the result of her falling on her face.
It's more expensive than it should be, but it's such a special figure.
Oh, and the box is really cool. A very futuristic green scales box enclosed in 2 other pieces with her art on it. To open the box you slide the front piece off.
The above pose is without any support for the Ogres. Strenght is held by her stand, with her scorpion tail adding a bit of downward force. Simple and effective.
This is Max Factory at their best ladies and gents... The body itself is the usual figma, ie limited details but great quality. Her hood is amazing but covers most of the face and the psycho effect doesn't work, so hoodless she went.
This figma really pisses me off regarding the price hike for the Avengers. She has 2 extra pairs of hands (she comes with normal arms in the box so 3 pairs total), the GIANT ogre arms with a complicated system allowing almost full poseability (the arm twists on multiple axles, the hand turns and all fingers are articulated in 3 points) though the weight of the hands is an issue (but that was fully expected, each weighs almost as much as the body itself!), another mounting system to get both Ogres on a single arm and the pieces to convert them into Gun Ogres, like in the movie. In addition, each Ogre arm comes with a special shoulder piece to accomodate the mounting system and it's own complete figma stand.
How much does this amazing piece of technical and practical design cost, you ask? 4670 freaking yen!
There really is no excuse for the huge difference in price over Iron Man and the others. Sure, the sculpt is much more detailed than Strenght, but in terms of accessories? Iron Man has none (4 jet effects and an extra pair of hands falls into the minimal for any figma if you ask me). How much are they going to charge for Hulk? 10k? GSC please, it won't even be able to do this amazing pose. Ever.
Now to complete my BRS figmas with BRS herself, Dead Master and the amazing Chariot that we've seen recently. I will prowl the London Comic Con dealers area looking for the formers, they're small enough to bring back without fuss (assuming the prices aren't too blown up [though they sell pretty high used in Japan anyway, with shipping + tax it'll end up almost the same]).
Dark Angel Olivia
Such a giant box. I've already put Bayonetta's in storage but I'm fairly sure Olivia's is bigger.
The assembly wasn't anything complicated though the wings made me sweat a bit, reminded me of the Love is War Miku pigtails nightmare. Luckly the pegs gave in fairly quickly and I escaped without damaging the wings or hurting myself with the sharp ends.
There's a paint issue on a seam on her head but it's barely visible and passes for an intended effect of the sculpt. One wing feather tip is stained (wrong colour applied, purple instead of orange), there's some paint smidges on the silver parts of her shoes (but once again it's a tiny thing and can easily pass as dirt on her shoes) and that's it.
The rest is simply one of the most amazing figures this year. Serious contender for the Figure of the Year award. And she is so big, it'll fit in your 1/7 collection. I don't know anything about Rage of Bahamut and ordered this entirely on impulse. Best decision ever.
I am actually putting her one step above Olivia. To me, it's almost like Olivia is overdetailed. The artist crammed as many as possible on her. She is amazing, but Tharja has so much more charisma, there really is no contest in my eyes. Shining Wizard man, Shining Wizard. That smirk is just too good. I love the fact nothing is fixed to the base and I loathe the fact that nothing is fixed on the base. The velvet doesn't help either, but dat Tharja is dat Tharja and nothing will change that.

You and me both. Hopefully MF keeps those Fire Emblem figures coming. Cherche, Sumia, Miriel, Anna, and Flavia need figures. Not to mention the male characters.
