Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 6: Final Destination confirmed for not fun

I had to compile over 70 items on a page, over 20 Pokémon, 19 Assist Trophies, 5 new characters to the game, several new modes, stage confirmations etc. Clearly nothing :p

God people on the Internet confuse me

i know people who just don't give a shit unless it involves controversy. the kind of people unhappy unless some obscure cult character gets announced that no one would expect. this wasn't a controversial direct. it was an informative one. i can see why people would be unsatisfied. i just despise those people.

Pic of the day. Your character starts a Smash Run as a relatively ordinary fighter. But before the game, you can outfit yourself with certain items that can help power you up early, which will give you a big advantage later on!! These items are much like the Powers you'd find in Kid Icarus: Uprising.

Bonus:For those who are wondering what Smash Run is, check out the Super Smash Bros. Direct. You can find the link on the post two days before this one.

What?

But there was... what???

It's a combination of assuming all brawl features/chars are back + only treating newcomers as significant I think.

When I looked at people's predictions and they literally just had lists of 7 newcomers I figured some people would be let down about their unreasonable expectations.

The idea that people still believe in the existence of character "slots" (wasted or otherwise) just amuses me to no end.

The roster is the roster. There are no "slots" up for grabs throughout development.

There aren't "slots", but there are definitely a limited number of resources and time that will get allotted to the games. If working on Character A takes up X amount of time and money, then that's less resources they can allot to Characters B-L for example. It's why Dedede wasn't included in Melee, if I remember correctly.

There's too many pokemon, they're taking all the slot for more deserving characters.

First it was "too many Mario characters", now this.

Yeah never understood why the "too many Pokemon" outcry came to be.

I don't get it either. I mean, I am never touching a Pokemon game ever again until they make a console edition of the series, due to my staunch "I have better things to when I'm out of the house than play video games" policy.

But even I see Greninja as a neat badass addition, and removing the Trainer makes some sense.

I know this will hurt you, Boss, but I think "too many Fox clones" is a more reasonable argument to have than this.

Okay if we are going to be blunt, what are the chances for Lucas and Ness to be in? I can't handle this anymore, someone release me from this pain. OTL

GUYS GUYS GUYS

I beat Champion Road.

Lying.

[Would post lyingcat.jpeg if I had an image-hosting account]

Seriously though, I told a friend I wasn't buying any new games until I beat champion's road.

Maybe I'll make it in time for the release of the wiiu smash. That's probably why that one is coming second.

Ness - 100%
Lucas - 75%

MetaKnight, where art thou?

Either E3 or he's a hidden character I'd guess.

I think we'll get a last batch of both veterans and newcomer at E3 and the rest will be hidden characters. I'd wager Meta Knight, Ness, Falco, Ice Climbers, Ike and Snake if he's back will be at E3, as well as Mii, Pac-Man and maybe... Palutena?
Rest of vets will be secret, and a few more newcomers (Shulk, Chrom, and let's count Mewtwo as a newcomer?)

Do you think 3DS players will have to unlock every secret character again in the Wii-U version? That would seriously suck .
Hoping part of the connectivity will be to simply transfer ones character unlocks in the other game. Obviously unique aspects like stages I expect to unlock independently in both games.
