You can tell he's going fast because the goggles are on his eyes and not his head.

are people optimistic about this movie? i remember that everyone was raving about it in the beginning but lost faith after the first or second trailer. whats the opinion on it? will it be epic as promised in the beginning?

I'm pretty excited, Singer hasn't let me down yet when it comes to the X-men.

I am one of the 5 people that never lost faith in Singer and the trailers only managed to get MORE excited.

Walking Xavier though. Are they in somebody's mind?

My theory is that young xavier STILL wants to blend in like he said to mystique in first class so he uses his telepathy to "fly" and "move" his legs.

In the middle of the movie he will notice how this makes him weak and acept his paralized self.

MAYBE he even uses his power too much and suffer some hair loss ? xD

Cool timeline posted on the official site going from First Class to this movie

http://www.25moments.com/ - Warning: Has sound right when it loads, so adjust volume as needed.

Shows the years and degradation of Mutant acceptance in their timeline.

Poor
Beast and Angel :(
Weird they reference X-Men 3 but not the first two X-Men. I would think Magneto trying to turn politicians into mutants would be a significant event.

It slightly annoys me that Quicksilver has gray hair and Magneto doesn't.

The entire point of his grey hair is the fact that the males in that family has premature grey hair. But Fassbender Magneto doesn't so what is the point of Quicksilver having it?

The fact that these kids are supposedly capable of being the in universe children of magneto is nothing short of a travesty.

The second X-Men doesn't really feature a "global" event but omitting the first one is odd.

How many thousands of people were killed when Xavier concentrated with Cerebro? Imagine all the traffic accidents, planes falling from the sky and just about every other type of man made accident happening due to both his affect on mutants and humans during that. It's probably the single most devastating attack ever shown in the X-Men movies.

is Quicksilver going to be Magneto's son in this? He seems awful old. With the way they've treated certain characters (Havok) its not like they give a shit about continuity.

the only thing that's gonna save this Movie/universe is if Scarlet Witch goes all House of M on the cosmos and use it as an excuse to reboot everything

You make a good point. I was just assuming that he would be. You would think that they would make him Magneto's son considering that Marvel isn't allowed to and they could claim to have the "true" Quicksilver but this is Fox we are talking about.

While i'm excited for this and hopeful that it can continue to build on First Class (which was leagues better than the original 3 for sure) i have this very odd drought of faith/hype/love for Fox's take since Marvel is putting forward such an amazing clinic on how this shit should be done properly with their MCU efforts.

Especially after Winter Soldier. I'm saying it now - no way this comes anywhere close to being as good as Cap2. Everytime I see Tate and his stupid fucking tape player or Iceman with a gawl-damned jacket on over his ice body my eyes roll out of my skull and my brain starts to imagine what a proper Xmen movie would look like in Marvels hands...

and yet I can't bring myself to wish for this to fail like I can with F4 or Spiderman.

This must be an incredibly odd space to be in if you are Singer and co. All you have to do is look over at Disney studios for an example of a whole group of people firing on all cylinders and just wrecking house with quality. All the while you have contend against your own freakin timeline in an effort to make people forget Last Stand.

Really hope it's solid.

Because Quickbrown sounds less like a Superhero name and more like something you do on the toilet.

Unless X-Men's involvement (or must mutant in general) with the event on Liberty Island managed to be kept secret. They did save a ton of lives that night. As a result it's kept out of this timeline. The only other major public event would be the Golden Gate Bridge. Still is weird it's left out.

Also this timeline also makes me realize there is a significant lack of information about the world outside of the X-men team in the films. Outside of X-men 3 which does seem to suggest a climate like this if I'm remembering correctly. Such that something like this can be done to really fill in the gaps.

Fuck yeah ... love some alterna history =D

Love the small details on the pics, like storm on africa and the colossus baby

Weird they reference X-Men 3 but not the first two X-Men. I would think Magneto trying to turn politicians into mutants would be a significant event.

For people outside the first movie was "hey, look, the statue of liberty had a weird glow today" ... which in this universe was " probably another mutant being anoing"

Prediction: Quicksilver surprises people and becomes a fan favorite!

Their pushing of the character means they hope this happens or it's a massive middle finger from Fox or Singer to Marvel and/or Whedon. The second doesn't make any sense really. They gain nothing from that. I doubt they'd want to antagonize the audience on purpose. So it has to be the first. They think once people see him in action and in scenes they'll like him in the end and this is them just preparing people so that the actual viewing of him has that much more of an impact maybe.

So some characters have been announced for Age of Apocalypse.

Nightcrawler and Gambit.
Doesn't that pretty much confirm they're semi rebooting the franchise and erasing what happens in the previous X-Men movies in DOFP? They didn't know who Nightcrawler was in X2.

Well with time travel involved, they'd have to. No one knew who Wolverine was in X-Men, but he's obviously running around with Xavier and Magneto.

Can anyone explain me 1994 ?

The mexican revolution looks kinda .... away from the whole timeline.

Xavier : So ... we need to do this thing to beat Apocalypse

Wolverine : I know a guy that teleports. Well ... i knew a guy... I will know a guy. Fuck this time travel thing.

He's in Barsoom now, plus
it wouldn't make sense to have him play Gambit in the 80s. If anything, this opens up the possibility of bringing back Cyclops with somebody else playing him.

But hopefully it won't be
a young, inexperienced Cyclops if Apoc takes place in the 80's
. That'd dampens any excitement I'd have for it.

I'm more curious if
the new Wolverine spin-off they have slated for 2017 is going to take place in the "new" timeline they're establishing with DofP.
That could open some interesting story ideas.

I've been assuming this was the case for awhile now. Hopefully they don't botch the next Cyclops, Storm, etc I guess everyone outside of Wolverine from the old timeline will be wiped out.

I just hope they don't go and re-use old characters, and take this as an opportunity to explore the hundreds of other characters found in the x-men fiction.

I want my Multiple Man movie dammit!
