Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 6: Final Destination confirmed for not fun

I have the opposite problem. I've been playing Smash since the first one, but I always end up pushing the stick too far and doing a Tilt attack instead of a Smash attack. :( I'm too impetuous.

this doesnt make sense. You are not getting the smash attack because you are pushing the stick before presing the "a" button instead of doing it at the same time, i think. So, you are pushing the stick and presing the "a" button almost at the same time, not at the same time.

EDIT: i dont know, what is the frame window that you have?? i guess that you dont have to move the stick and press the "a" button on the same frame... its not that i find it difficult, i am just curious. Maybe its not a good question, because maybe it changes from game to game?? anyone??

King K Rool is too big.

He's big enough to play Baseball with Mario and co.

I really need to finish Xenoblade; my Shulk only has like 4-5 of those Monado abilities. (I'm at the point between
where you meet Vanea at the top of Mechonis Field and when you enter Agniratha
, but I've been taking it slowly, trying to do as many limited-time sidequests as I can before
whatever the hell it is that happens at Mechonis Core
permanently locks 'em all up.)

I got confused because when he did Enchant he had Purge selected.

Now that you mention Purge, I actually realize it is one of the more unique abilities. I have a feeling that could make for a recovery move due to the flipping nature of it...even though that isn't really the main aspect of the ability (not that the ability could properly translate to a fighting game anyways).

Seal enemy specials for 5 seconds BAM

No no, I'm always getting the Smash attack, it's the tilt attack I don't get.

That Balloon Fight stage on the 3DS is so cool. I hope it's one of those that are in both versions (despite being shown as a 3DS exclusive in the Direct).
I mean, Balloon Fight itself is a console game, so...

Looking back, the boxing ring was also shown as U exclusive, despite we already seeing it being part of the 3DS version. Here's crossing my fingers!

I was never a fan of K. Rool. I feel like Retro did a better job at creating villains for the series. That said, I don't think there's a DK villain (other than Mario if you count DK Jr.) that I'd care about being playable.

Somebody earlier in the thread proposed that Shulk would basically have a variety of self-buffs - more damage dealt, less damage taken, speed buffs, and similar - that he would toggle around by using his various Monado abilities. Only one at a time, obviously.

I don't think disabling other characters' special abilities is a good idea, especially since the most useful move for recovery varies wildly from character to character. Up-B is obviously a consistent one, but Side-B and Neutral-B can also be huge boons, too.

Greninja is getting main'd, if he feesls right.

Characters I'm trying week 1, so far;

Marth
Sheik
Zelda
Mega Man
Greninja

Still have major hope for Mewtwo, and Ridley.

Don't want mewtwo. I'd take Blaziken.
I think Mewtwo has higher chances just due to his veteran status, more recognizable due to gen 1 and his role in X/Y but I'd personally be more interested in Blaziken since I feel that pokemon is the same tier of popularity as Greninja. Its probably the most popular starter other than Charizard as well as having its own mega evolution. However for some reason I just imagine it being a faster, weaker and more airborne Captain Falcon clone.

It's so sad that any Xenoblade character we get is almost guaranteed to be Shulk. All the other playable characters are way better. :/

Final Smash: Chain Attack: 2 random party members show up and perform a chain attack against Shulk's opponents.

Though really Shulk's final smash would probably be something to do with slowing down time.

Found on Tumblr.

Replace Waddle Dee with Lucina, Bowser Jr. with SS Impa, and Isaac with Kumatora and this is my dream roster, ladies and gents.

So I saw this somewhere earlier. I don't know how trustworthy the way back machine is, but check page 22.

http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.smashbros.com/jp/characters/*

There's HTML code that reads "http://www.smashbros.com:80/jp/characters/kingkrool.html". Then again, there's also "http://www.smashbros.com:80/jp/characters/resume.html" and "http://www.smashbros.com:80/jp/characters/static/help". So I'm not exactly sure it means anything. It's interesting to say the least.

I don't care which of the seven gets in.

I just need one of them so Stage + Music from Xenoblade are a lock.

I like Dunban/Reyn/Fiora better, but I think Shulk would actually be the most interesting gameplaywise.

Honestly the optimist in me wants to believe in King K. Rool again, especially since Kremlings are back from the grave in Smash Run. He was always one of my biggest wants but I really lost hope after he disappeared from existence and was nowhere to be found in the DKCR games.

Still, I doubt he's gonna happen.

K Rool file was from 2007, probably didn't make the cut for Brawl, I wish he is considered back tho
