Dark Souls II |OT2| Prepare to Vengarl

Not open for further replies.
I'm about to fire up NG+. I got what I need in terms of titanite, but is there anything else I should do? Got my King's Ultra Greatsword +10 so damage should be decent I assume.

enemis and especially bosses hit really hard on ng3, 4, etc. I even got oneshotted by that shitty boss in Brightstone Cove Tseldora, to be precise by those 2 clerics.

Sounds good since I'm planning to play the whole NG++ while in the
Company of Champions
Covenant with dual wielding. I just wish that everything will go well in NG+ and I'll get the
Benhart/Lucatiel
achievements with no problems so I don't have to worry about that. :D

Guys I really need help
The problem is there are not any summon sign anymore , instead there are a lot of red summon sign and dragon eye (lvl 150 NG) .
What should I do to find some summon sign? Did I something wrong in the game? I am in
dragon shrine
and it is really difficult to survive alone in here :]

You can't summon in that area.

Edit: I think actually you might need to make a certain npc hostile before you can begin to summon there. If you're going through for the first time then I suppose that's why you aren't seeing any summons.

Is there any point infusing a +10 Alonne Greatbow with anything? I just shot the Giant Lord full of great arrows now I'm going to murder throne twins next.

I went through there last night and noticed the same thing. Soul lvl 125 here. I made it through without too much difficulty though. I will just say poison arrow is your friend here.

When I find myself in that situation I switch to my poison weapon. Can generally get enough hits in to poison them when they heal and then they are in trouble.

If you find yourself getting outrun all the time, maybe you should have lower equip load. I try to stay between 30 and 40 % myself. Making it easier to heal is one of the main advantages of low equip load and high adaptability. It's only fair that you get to use it, if you sacrifice defense and/or other stats for it.
countering it with poison doesn't really work. you can heal from that too pretty easily and a standard build with 100 agility can drink an estus really fast, you won't hit him enough time to poison him unless you're like 2m from him, and in that case you can just backstab or whatever. healing in duels it's still dumb, just nerf estus if anything.
and to be honest, the best is 50% and still high defense. being 30% but with crappy defense isn't really worth it.

I cant summon in other areas too even in
Iron Keep
which previously saw a lot of summon sign but now there is not any sign

Most people at your level or soul memory are in ng+ or more. I don't think the game allows people to summon from ng+ into ng (I could be wrong). There just isn't enough people available foe you.

Out of curiosity how many did it take? I might want to play around with the greatbows - give me something new to do.

Ok, might be because I'm still relatively low SL/SM, but it works fine for me. But maybe the PVP starts getting more shitty for high-level characters? So far, I have really enjoyed the PVP, though.

How in the flying fuck Im supposed to get Chaos Storm?
Im doing everything (getting myself wet, using the sweat piromancy, using healing stones..) yet I cant reach it.

I've been thinking of a dex build using poison on the curved twinblade. From what I've read that's pretty much their only strength. Speed and number of hits.

Smelter Demon armor helps a lot. Add flash sweat, flame quartz ring and roll in the water and you should be fine with just a few estus chugs.

I guess it might be that too. with GMB and a good defense (or even full havel's set) you can just heal and take hits/spells and still, heal wins. also poison doesn't really do much in most cases.
in that case it would become an healing battle. "who finishes those 12 estuts first lose" yeah, kinda sucks.

also if you want to poison them, bat staff + dark fog = instant poison. the broken/stupid part is that you don't need to upgrade it and you don't need the requirements to use the weapon in order for that to work.

It was a surprisingly small amount I have about 850 iron great arrows on me most of the time it barely made a dent in that. Greatbows are pretty interesting to use I can get great damage from that at very nice range without that ring that extends it. Stamina heavy but worth it.

There's a finesse to using it really but still try it.

Beat the game again with my second character. She's a beast in coop. Love using Great Lightning Spears. Now to mop up better than I did with my first character. Missed some stuff the first time.

Okay - I'll give it a shot. Actually got one recently from a drop.

Got summoned by a blue apostle in trouble, and I start engaging the red phantom, then i notice that the host and a white phantom aren't doing shit, they're just watching. I kill the guy by the skin of my teeth. The amount of jerks playing this game >:(

Help a noob out guys. :p Wanted to make a good strength + faith build to start again but never did that kind of character. Any tips on the stats so i don't waste points on the other stuff and good equips for it anyone?

I already saw it on someone's stream, who's the guy that you mentioned?
it would be funny to do something like that, surely better than duels.

The name of the twitch channel is xRufio801x, the video is there if you want to check it out. > http://www.twitch.tv/xrufio801x/c/4008105

If someone could stream and be the judge it would be really cool to make something like that with people from GAF.

You do you won't regret it. I'm using mine dressed as an Alonne Captain so I look the full part. McDuff and Vengarl are your friends they sell iron great arrows and destructive great arrows (PvP god sends breaks equipment whilst at range) respectively.

You can get elemental great arrows from Navalan later in the form of fire and lightning arrows. Once I muck around with infusions I'll tell you what I think.

So how does dark scaling work? I heard it just uses whichever is lower out of faith and int which sounds useless but I see a lot of people using it so I assume there is more to it than that.

I just took on the
Executioner's Chariot
boss. The
phantom
outside of it's fog gate was harder than the actual boss.

I died on my first attempt because I tried to go for the necromancers first and hoped the chariot would deal with the skeletons, but I got gang raped in a cubby hole and died. The second attempt I tackled it basically how it was designed and defeated it pretty easily.

Now I'm off to Harvest Valley.

PVP is flawed (like early DS1 PVP was), but it's still fun. Speaking of which I still need to improve my build. I think I need to stay focused on STR/DEX stats. Although I can easily get most people, I'm having issues with high defense builds, now. Havel's, and people with good dark defense.

EDIT - What I need list [360 Copy];

Heide Knight Chainmail
Petrified Dragon Bones
Twinkling Titanite

Not sure about the scaling, but a lot of people use it because of the 50% dark weapon buff (as opposed to 30% for lightning and magic).

Yes, the lower out of faith and int. Note that having 30 int and 30 faith gives you comparable Dark BNS (which is what the damage will scale with) as the magic BNS from 60 INT or the lightning BNS from 60 Faith, you will get about the same scaling out of similar number of stats.

Ok that makes sense, decent scaling bonus for hexers and best buff spell. Might give it a shot tomorrow.

I love PvP. Much needs to be improved and balanced. But it's still fun. Some spells need to be adjusted as well as some weapons/armor sets/etc.

My only main gripe about it is lag. Lag ruins everything in PvP. Had a lag match today where even my sword swings barely connected. At least no lagbackstab.

Holy shit the [end game boss]
Ancient Dragon fight O_O

The player is so tiny before his majesty. Definitely the most impressive boss fight in the series.
I wish there were more fights like this.

it'd be hard to fix the weird hitboxes and limited movesets and such, but

- forbidding estus use in arenas
- removing token cost for Blue Sentinel arenas
- removing the ability to enchant infused weapons & turning buff spells into a flat AR bonus rather than a percentage boost
- increase cast time for some hexes, or tone down damage
- decrease WotG's range and damage a little further, and make it a two-slot spell rather than one
- increased physical damage scaling on weapons
- reevaluation of poise
- introduction of a reusable invasion item for red & blue in ng+, and letting players buy infinite invasion items in ng
- chameleon granted by silver tokens to be targetable
- fast roll limit reduced to 60% rather than 70% equip burden (with different roll plateaus being 20/40/60%)

and of course,

- remove soul memory

would help.

Is the general opinion this game is easier than both previous games? I'm still working through my first playthrough and I'm finding it much easier as a STR/DEX build (played DeS1/DaS1 as the same build). I've pretty much beaten all the bosses in 1-3 attempts, with the exception of
Ruin Sentinels, Royal Rat Authority and Mytha the Baneful Queen
. I don't think I am but maybe I've been over leveled? I've just been leveling up naturally by playing, not farming or anything. So far I've beaten
19
bosses, the latest being the S
meltor
D
emon
and I'm around SL100.

Shrine of Amana may be some kind of bullshit but I just finished a rollicking run through it with a pair of sunbros.

Because the first bro went YOLO at the start and ran straight through.

We ended up dragging everything with us at once (list:
3 archdrake priests, 2 sorceresses, 4 lizard creepers, and the fucking troll
) and got into a huge fucking melee and somehow survived.

Smelter at 100 is definitely overleveled, but the bosses are really easy either way. Demons and Dark had a bunch of joke bosses too but it seems like there's more in DS2 because the game has way more bosses in general. There's just no wall like S&O, that's the only difference.

Just fix the hit boxes. That's the only thing holding this game back from being up there with the Demons/Dark PvP. They are absolutely atrocious even in offline play.

i hate the scaling in the souls games. in dark it was so important but it seems useless in 2. What should i throw on my claymore +10? i have a very even build which makes it so hard for me to have any idea what would give the most benefit

28 str
20 dex
17 vig
8 vit
20 end
26 att
4 agility or whatever the stat is
21 int
22 fai

how do dark weapons scale? dark weapon seems like the strongest infusement....but would that be most beneficial for that build? i have no idea. and for some odd reason my chimes and staffs dont work with hexes right. i have the stats for them but like my lightning sacred chime wont infuse dark weapon but will cast GSR even if the setup is correct, and my sorcerers staff wont cast GSR but will infuse dark weapon (yes i am aware of the hands needing to be right), WTF!

whats a good weapon to infuse poison? I keep hearing the spotted whip, but why? why not the old whip? that seems like the strongest whip i've found so far. i like the whips and claws but they break so quick. i was gonna try dual bleed claws since nothing else seems to be good for bleed (maybe a flamberge) cos i feel like fucking wolverine but the fun lasts so shortly.

whats the item that was in lost bastille, near that wall you destroy just before mcduffs workshop? with the 3 exploders that come up from the well? bc i killed them, then there was a sign in front of the elevator that came up which blocked me from getting the item, and when i reloaded it was gone. i've missed a bunch of items because of that shit or because of wooden chests being killed due to battles in the areas with them. its fucking dumb.

also the new patch gives me this weird glitch where if you coop a boss with someone else your fog wall on the boss will be gone and you can enter and leave the boss arena as you please sometimes. fucking weird but made a few bosses piss easy bc i was curious if it really would work and it did.

is it worth going above 20 end? end seems like the most important stat in ds2 but the fact that you only get one point per level after 20 just seems so futile compared to the benefit other stats give you even past 20

Lol, dual wield mundane avelyns and close-ranged shot the king's ass + hugging/circle strafing the left leg till he died. Sooo goood

yes, it would be cool. maybe someone could open a thread.
the only problem is the fucking Soul Memory so it might be hard to get in. if it wasn't for that it would have just been a matter of SL.

- decrease WotG's range and damage a little further, and make it a two-slot spell rather than one
I think range is good as it is, only because it's super small already and the animation makes it obvious and easy to roll away. I agree it should be a two-slot spell. Surprised it isn't. It is still super powerful, so I'd agree with decreasing it's power. I've killed so many people with it recently just by one-shoting them. Last guy to die was even used a Magic Shield spell and still destroyed him. Though he did seem rather low level by the limited souls I got.

Soul Memory and infinity useage of Invasions (blue and red) would be my next changes as well. My and my roommate are trying to play together. The name ring helps, but SM isn't helping much.

Not a bug, but I'd love for them to add an official arena for Souls. Maybe for different categories such as melee only, magic only, any. Or perhaps a chaotic free for all or 2v2.

Are the Dark Brotherhood spells required for platinum?
Well, they are spells, so yes. It's a pretty easy covenant for most part. Lightning and Fire spells work well for boss.

So is it generally agreed that Dark Souls 2 is a lot easier then Dark Souls?

Anyways, I take back what I said about Hexes. Holy fuck, I fucking demolish everything that gets in my path.

I'll get on that as well. Also, mess around with daggers and parrying. After 200 hours I need to change up my style a little bit lol.

Are the Dark Brotherhood spells required for platinum?

Indeed all of the spells in the game.
