Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 6: Final Destination confirmed for not fun

Nothing more irritating than broad statements, that are stated as some kind of fact, then a quick "... it's my opinion, though" statement after someone says something about it, to you.

Probably something ridiculous.

What are you, his hand maiden? Let him speak for himself, please.

Everyone always complains about her transition and im probably alone in this but I prefer her anime look over her MP look. I wouldn't mind a redesign of her closer to a more realistic art style but please don't make her look anything look MP Samus.

Dont really like either, although Prime 1 is better

I wish they made her more like the artwork shown at the end of Super Metroid, Fusion, Zero Mission, etc.

Design isn't so off-putting

I dunno... I would say super short messages like "C'mon, son." that don't really add anything other than some passive insult are worse.

He knows the folley of his ways. We went down that road so many times already, that's all I could say in response to that. Everyone play how they want to play. No need to insult the various players because it's not what you like.

And yet you're the only one that's said anything remotely resembling an insult.

Calling Project M dull and a snoozefest because of a few modified stages (which you can easily you know, remove) is ridiculous. I am within my right to call someone out on that.

If that's an insult, then ok.

I wish it was easier to remove custom stages in project m, some of them are too damn small for 4 player like metal mario cave

Metal Cavern is one of most hated stage from what I see. It's too small for 2 players and 4 players. People rarely picked that stage for counter pick stage..

Extra comment:

Too flat, would not play on.

Yep, its also one of the biggest victim of project m wonk physics where sometimes a character will slide 5 feet off a ledge and drop like a rock without warning.

Feel free to tweet #BattlefieldForGlory to sakurai or post it on miiverse, so they know there is a demand for more than just final destination versions of each stage.

So it's about "sucking" then? Or is this some form of elitism again found by your average FGC (tm) people.

You're saying that a well-made simulation game wouldn't have stuff like path-finding, codes on interaction, etc.? Or are you telling me Pokemon isn't mechanically deep because it didn't have hitboxes or cancellation?

And you tell me - are you saying a typical fighting game player could do DDR dance steps with the dance step?
Honestly, the only way I can make sense of your posts is if you aren't even bothering to understand them before responding. I am not much for shadowboxing, so I will just leave it at that.

Starters would be:

1 > 4 = 6 > 2 > 5 > 3

One of the things that Gen I got completely right and no other generation has really came close in surpassing. 6 was promising initially, then the evolutions for Chespin and Fennekin were revealed and it just went all downhill. 2, 5 and 3 are close enough to where they could switch up depending on my mood.
Take off those nostalgia goggles they're blinding you. Gen I starters were lazy in design until their final forms. Gen IV and VI had them best. And the last three Gens are tied.

Why the hell did Samus go from this and her MP1 appearance to this overly anime look that she has now.

As much as i hate the "because Nintendo" line that's really the only explanation i'm seeing for the change.

You don't have to invoke "because Nintendo" here. It's just a different art style. Opinions and all that.

I would prefer if some of the stages had platforms instead of just "Final Destination" variants.

I made this rough edit showing that platforms would be better.

Based it off of Project M's old SSE Jungle (Now Distant Planet)

Making a FD stage for everyone is an incredibly roundabout way to try to balance the game... except it doesn't because you are giving a lot of advantage to characters who excel in horizontal movement. Watch Little Mac become Top Tier under the FD only meta.

You seem to be assuming that the game will be balanced in the same way as the previous ones, which isn't necessarily the case. If they actually balanced the characters for the Glory mode, rather than just slapping it on at some point of the development, that wouldn't be a problem.

I'm hoping we'll be able to use the final destination variants as templates in a stage builder.

That would be really cool. Then when you play with friends or tournaments, you can play with some of the Final Destination stages with platforms (moving, stationary, etc). Would really balance the whole thing.

Brawl Minus is best minus

I'm just annoyed at how you belittle the efforts of programmers of other genres. You try to justify that view with examples and I counter them with examples as well.

So, Greninja happens to be the most popular Pokémon in the Pokémon Amie feature in X & Y.

People no longer need to question why Greninja was chosen.

When push comes to shove if the For Glory mode doesn't use your "Battle Field" setup you can always do things the old fashioned way and share your FC or NNID and set up rules the way you want.

It's no secret that Project M changes many stages so that they're competitive friendly while removing features of the stage and making them somewhat dull. Regardless of whether it is replaceable or not.
Why people said that it's our first 3DS Final Destination since we already got one from Press Kit.

That's how the stage starts.

Not that I doubt you, but source?
It's Serebii.

Sakurai is the last person I'd trust to balance anything.

I tell you how it's gonna go, son! SuperSah's gonna END you, son! He's gonna throw you off the stage, son! He's gonna smash your goddamn stock, son! And you ain't gonna be no prodigy no more! YOU'RE GONNA FEEL THAT SAH!
Your avatar is my favorite thing ever:

I have had an unused VC download code for Smash 64 for a while (club nintendo) and I finally decided to redeem it last night. Things did not go well.

The main issue is that N64 virtual console games have not transitioned over to the Wii U yet so I had to play it through the Wii menu on the console. That was annoying, but the real problem is controller related. You can't use the Wii U gamepad, nor can you use the Wii U pro-controller. You can only use the Wii classic controller.

Ugh. As soon as I realized that I turned it off. The OG Wii classic controller is probably my least used Nintendo controller ever. It is ok for NES and SNES games but doesn't work at all as an N64 controller. I guess I'll just wait until they finally (read never) bring Wii U support to N64 games.

I was a Fennekin proponent until I got a Greninja to my team. Yeah, easily the best choice for Smash right now.
