Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 6: Final Destination confirmed for not fun

I have a weird feeling about stage builder. I could imagine that they would get rid of online feature for stage builder or entire stage builder to avoid Project M happening again.

The size of this stage makes Ridley look small.

That's already less of a concern for them because they can update the Wii U more easily as well as patch the games.

Plus all they would really have to do is disable saving and loading to SD card.

I never stated anything as any kind of fact. You're just sore that someone has a different opinion about something (a video game, no less!) than you do. It's a big, wide world out there, dude. That's going to happen a lot. Best get used to it now so you can bray less about it the next time it does!

If it helps, here: you have my blessing to go on enjoying Project M's stages all you want. My opinion that they and tournament "legal" (ahaha) stages are deliriously boring and dull in no way invalidates your opinion that they're the bee's knees. Conflicting opinions can coexist!

Feeling less stressed out about our differing viewpoints now?

Ha, I've seen your posts, you just can't resist taking shots at Melee/Project M.

So, Greninja happens to be the most popular Pokémon in the Pokémon Amie feature in X & Y.

People no longer need to question why Greninja was chosen.

Greninja was probably chosen for the roster and finalized as a character before X/Y even came out. I don't think his popularity in Amie has anything to do with it. :-)

This. X&Y came out in October, well past the point when the Smash roster would've been locked down. Presumably there was some focus testing several months prior pointing to the design being popular, and that's being reflected in Amie after the fact.

This is SSB so prepare for the two versions of Tropical Freeze's DK Island Swing at best.

Yes I'm still reeling from that shoddy selection in Brawl, outside of Gangplank Galleon and Bramble Blast it was a poor showing.

I'd take the boss music. Those were neat too.

I thought Bramble Blast kinda sucked. At least, it wasn't what I was expecting for a remix of one of the more popular tracks.

I'm pretty sure Little Mac is going to dominate For Glory.

Yeah I'm a little worried about that. Explicitly excellent-on-ground bad-in-air character in mode where you never have to deal with platforms? Feels like the balance is askew there.

Though I suppose it's not like the only way to attack from the air is via platforms. The Little Mac strategy will probably just be to keep the battle as close to the edge as possible, really leverage his horrible recovery.

everyone to play like M2K in For Glory

Admittedly I didn't like it too much at first either but it's grown on me as a good reinterpretation of the theme.
Plus the original is a touch too chilled out to really fit Smashing, the faster pace of the Brawl mix worked well for the game itself.

I agree with you. It somewhat grew on me as well but something about it always sounds off. There's no way that the original arrangement would have worked in Smash.

I anticipate For Glory being 90% laser spam if there isn't a clearly broken character like Metaknight returning.

Mac looks to be too difficult for the type of people looking for easy wins, which there will be a lot of if Tekken U is anything to go by.

on the contrary, this just means lots of bad Little Mac players to beat up on

All I need is that Homecoming Hijinx best song in the game by far. That's saying something since the game's OST is fucking phenomenal.

but weren't the guys who made porject M able to put brawl characters too in the game?
so what is stopping them to put the newcomers of this game too ?
actually, competitive smash bros players don't need this game, since what they want is basically melee with new characters, they already have their own game.

There are two additions I'd like to see in the Stage Editor that should be relatively simple:

The option to feature 'running off' type edges, rather than always the platform ones. Also, stages ending right in the custom stage bounds, without extra space bellow.

Also, more background options. It was really odd in Brawl how the custom backgrounds were only 2d pictures, and yet they only gave the player 3 options, rather than making every generic 2d background in the game available there at least. They also easily could have added 2d pictures of 3d backgrounds too. I guess part of it is that the piece's "style" was automatically associated with the background - so, 3 themes, 3 backgrounds. But, if the background is just going to be a 2d picture, it seems kind of silly to do that.

Of course, more hazards, unique types of pieces and other things would be welcome too, but those two things seem to be relatively simple and could add a lot more personality to some custom stages, so their absence is annoying.

You forgot size control. Stage builder in Brawl had only three sizes, which controled both the horizontal and vertical size of the stage. We should be able to control exactly the number of horizontal and vertical tiles the created stages have. Plus, more music. We should be able to create a setlist for up to 10 songs from all the songs available in the game.

You'll get your pre-set options and you'll LIKE IT.

They don't want to add SSB4 newcomers to Project M in order to avoid getting Cease & Desist paper from Nintendo.
