Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 6: Final Destination confirmed for not fun

I've been meaning to upgrade to a 3DS XL. If they did a kick ass bundle for Smash I would so be there. Hell wouldn't even need a bundle, just do a limited edition XL like they did with pokemon X and Y.

9/10, needs a Blue Shell though

Do the pellets cause flinching? I mean, Fox's gun causes no flinching, but Falco's does. I don't really remember if Megaman's gun does or not
Kriken pls:
This is from the Little Mac reveal trailer. It is towards the end during the KO Uppercut portion. It shows Bowser using his new jabs (it was shown here first lol) at Little Mac while Mega Man was shooting at Bowser. The thing to note is that Mega Man's pellets/shots aren't causing Bowser to flinch. It was shown during Mega Man's reveal trailer that it causes flinching.

Of course, another theory was that they removed the flinching effect, but that isn't the case since it shown here in the Smash Direct: http://youtu.be/7xUWnQu2Grs?t=12m49s
I guess I should make GIFs out of them.
Nice! Bowsers my boy!

You forgot to add his N-Air. Instead of spinning around in his shell he launches both hands outward swinging his claws in a circle.

If I knew anything about making GIFs I'd make one now.
I didn't do that on purpose cause it was shown in the Developer Direct along with other new moves, but I did link to the Developer DIrect. But thanks for pointing it out still.

And I love that new Neutral Air. It looks cool.

Also, can you please snip the post. Don't want a long post to make it hard for people to scroll.

Didn't notice bowser's new standard a, back air, stall then fall down a, and overall increased recovery height. Neat.

Maybe he'll finally mid tier or even better :D

That Bowser is just bad in Melee/Brawl? lol

If you really want to throw your opponent a bone I always chose Bowser since it's hard to use him effectively. And when you go against a decent Marth well you have no chance whatsoever if they mastered counter as an art form.

Hmm reading this, bowser should be able to breathe fireballs as a longranged arrack. He's been able to do that ever since mario bros lol.

He was so hard to use effectively in Melee but the Bowser Bomb and Koopa Hop made things a little more manageable in Brawl.

His reach was so bad with his only useful approach being the forward air and battling King Dedede or Zero Suit Samus was an absolute nightmare. I could handle Fox and Falco way better than the other two.

Forward smash and back air were nearly impossible to hit with and flame breath was a death sentence if someone knew how it worked. Sure you'd get trapped but with no hit stun characters could pull off hard hits right in the middle of it.

This Bowser looks to be leagues better but who can really say until we under stand how the physics feel in our hands?

In the newest direct when Sakurai is introducing the assist trophy section he says "these figure into All Star mode, so I like to put in as many as possible"

All Star mode?

I wonder if we could start a Miiverse/Twitter campaign to get Battlefield versions of all the stages as well. I like that there are FD versions of (most of) the stages, but like others have said Battlefield is typically the more viable, balanced, and quite frankly iconic stage in Smash.

Wasn't someone supposed to start this already?

Great Bowser analysis, DaBoss. He looks excellent!

Also, I wonder if Sakurai will continue with PotD after the 3DS version comes out. I'm sure there'll still be plenty of material left to hype in the WiiU version, although it will be odd no longer looking at each screen and wondering it means for the playable characters, since we'll know the full roster at that point.

I think the next thing he said was something like "but we haven't talked about that yet, we'll announce more later"

but maybe im crazy.

Probably a gauntlet of fighting every fighter in the game. Maybe you get to fight the assist characters.

My only guess was that we're going to keep the series-based All-Star mode from Brawl, but assist trophies will be factored into the mix this time. I.E. Wario's stage will have you fight him with both Ashley and Waluigi constantly running amok in the background.

But that's just rampant speculation, for all we know it could've been a misquote.

I bet we could, seems like it couldn't be that resource intensive to add a few platforms. Every time I try to rally people though especially on Smashboards it falls on deaf ears. Or blind eyes I guess.

What would the main slogan be for the campaign? Add battle field to For Glory mode? If someone can make a perfect Japanese translation of that I saw everyone spam that slogan once a day on the english and japanese miiverse. Once a day on the pic of the day or the general message portion.

Bowser's forward air reaching under him now is going to help so much, I can already see it now.

In Melee and Brawl All Star mode is where you fight against the entire cast with one life. Kind of a survival mode.

We don't know how assist trophies will come into it now though.

Nah, that's what Ganondorf is for (in Brawl).

Though I always felt Ganondorf was way more satisfying to play as. Seriously, ganondorf's spike might as well be the most fun move in the game when it lands, and suicide-killing someone with the choke is always priceless.

On a side note, is it my impression or there was a major streamlining of the moves in this game, compared to the past games? It seems like most awkward moves (like bowser's back-air or charizard's forward-air) was changed to something more simple and effective.

I hope Yveltal (a.k.a. Best Legendary) is a Pokéball Pokémon and rains down destruction with Oblivion Wing. We know Xerneas is in the game, using Geomancy, but we haven't see Yveltal yet.

And while we're on the note of Pokémon:

What do we need Yveltal for, we already have superior fairy legendary using superior fairy move.

Absolutely. DK's new roll attack may not be more simple but it's almost guaranteed to be more effective since it has so little lag compared to the Kong Kick.

That would be awesome.

But I wonder if that would mean that every character would need a matching assist trophy? I'm not sure if that's already the case or not.
