Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 7: How Can My Smash Brother Be This Cut

Sakurai didn't emphasize on anything team oriented in the Direct. Such as Team Smash Run or Team Online, not sure whether or not to be worried or patient on news regarding those modes.

wow we back to filler :(

... go on.

The direct was over loaded with so much information plus the 250 pics we got on that other website with lots of new info, I could care less about the pic of the days right now. E3 is three fifths of a second away anyway, we've got enough to analyze.

I welcome filer pics or almost filler pics like this one. Ridley.

Agreed. I definitely feel satiated for once, though my heart does skip a beat when I think of that next veteran reveal. Trying not to think about E3 or the next few months. Just going to power through and focus on work.

Edit: you forgot to mention the 160 3DS screens too, lol

Not only that but we got Kirby Triple Deluxe and Mario Kart 8 next month. I'm more than satisfied with the Direct we just had and can wait for Smash.

Yeah; my roommate preordered MK8 and I am strongly considering buying KI:Uprising next pay check because I can't stand missing out on it anymore. I remain surprisingly unspoiled aside from Pseudo Palutena anyway and love games with clever dialogue.

Would like to get Tropical Freeze finally too and we just started playing 3D world so I think I'm good till release.

I get so excited when I remember that soon online 1v1s will be at my fingertips and that said 1v1s could be enjoyed at my local coffee shop..

Tropical Freeze is fun. Good challenging game.Get it if you can. I love 3D World myself, started playing it again today.

Man that direct brought back many members to SmashGAF that its hard to catch up. @_@

I wonder what other classic enemies we will see.....BRING BACK WIRE FRAMES!!

I also imagine that one of the events that happen in Smash Run is Master hand and Crazy Hand running about the map randomly attacking the players.

Nice.

Though, honestly, I don't really care about Ridley. Sure, it would be a cool character, but I don't really find it interesting.

On the other hand, give me Lucina from Fire Emblem, and I'll consider myself blessed. I would love her and her father to join the roster*.
... And I would like them to ditch Marth. There, I said it.

* You saw nothing. *bok*

Well, cuccos are at least confirmed.

I have no idea what you're talking about ♥
... On a side note, do we have a cuccos assist trophy? I can't remember if there was even one in SSB, and I would love to summon the unholy cuccos of the Zelda-universe on the battlefield.
Edition : Wait, they actually (probably) added it?! Sweet!

They are more likely to be a straight up item like Mr. Saturn. Probably can glide around if you hold one and summon clucking death if you attack one.

Yep, they are doing it this time around.

EDIT: you edited @_@

meh, they're only decent thanks to main character syndrome.Otherwise both are pretty bland, although they do have their moments

I think, after this game comes out, Nintendo should use some of the models/animations in a Smash MOBA. They're leaving money on the table!
I think they should wait for the wii u's successor to do that, but nintendo doesnt have any experience in those types of games so its hard to say how good they'll be.

I know folks have said that the guy on the right is from Kid Icarus Uprising... but, in the spirit of Komayto, is it also a chibi-Phantoon?

I don't get the appeal of smash run, I like the dynamic of everyone starting in separate places and working your way through the mazes, but the reward, fighting with stats modifiers just seems terrible. I hate using the bunny hood, jumping and moving so fast is awful other than for the novelty factor.

If you've ever played Kirby Air Ride's City Trial, you'd probably understand most of the appeal of it.

In multiplayer it can turn into a mad dash between players screwing each other over and trying to do the best contextual build and applying them to a mode that's completely unpredictable. Having too good of a build and fumbling with controlling the characters per circumstance is part of the appeal. You might spend the run building a speedy character, only for the type of game following it to be offense based, which can cause your buffs to be at a disadvantage and provide a lot of fun results in managing with what you have. The random events also spicen up the maps and overall its a boatload of unpredictable fun to be had. Not every Run ends with a free-for-all.

The appeal is taking something uncappable and at times something you don't even know how to control, and turn it into a beastly force to be reckoned with under wacky circumstances - without the guarantee that the results will benefit the showdown. Its a party mode basically, one which is strengthened by multiple players.

Which is why its weird its 3DS exclusive.

As others will say, if you have played Kirby's Air Ride City Trial Mode, you may understand the appeal better. That mode was some of the most fun friends and I have had with local multiplayer back in the day. And you can avoid bonuses you don't want, as well as in-fact there are bonuses you shouldn't pick-up as they may actually hamper you. There's also randomized events that sometimes happen that are pretty interesting, a fun pretty good-sized level to explore with a bunch of small secrets, and on-top of all this there's a lot of other strategies to complete this.

He also only briefly mentioned it, but at the end you get a randomized thing you need to complete, which was also in Trial City. So not all end-of-the-round modes are fighting, also saw a tower-climb mode, and target practice, as an example. So different abilities may help in different modes, or hamper, and then you all compete.

Is Smash Run exclusively multiplayer or would it be single player too with AI?

Would really hate to miss that cause I want to play single player some time..

Personally I would rather it be like the MVC3 hero's and hearlds system.

" hey you know those stickers, you can use them to power up your guy in this mode to a certain extent "

This was isn't bad, city trial is fun. Its just kind of odd sequence of events
