Nintendo Downloads - April 2014

Burgertime World Tour will be delisted April 30 due to an expiring license. Monkeypaw is putting the game on sale for $4.99 until then. A lot of Nintendo sites are reporting that this applies to the Wii version as well, but I suspect that won't be the case.

The last time a MonkeyPaw game I owned was delisted (on PSN), it also disappeared from my download list and now I don't have access to it any more.

So buy at your own risk.

Update on Burgertime: World Tour - According to MonkeyPaw, the discount will also apply to WiiWare.

That's great news, but it makes me wonder if Nintendo will be allowing others to cut prices on WiiWare. You'd have to think some devs are desperate for a price cut to hit the payout threshold.

They had to hit the sales threshold within two years to get paid. There's only been 3 or 4 Wiiware games of note that were even released in the past two years, so that ship has long since sailed for most devs.

Also buy at your own risk since the game is apparently garbage.

What time does the 3DS eShop usually update on Thursdays? If eShop were at all a modern service I'd be able to simply pre-order games and have them auto-download at launch.

It's still bullshit the eShop itself (on 3DS at least) doesn't even have a "coming soon" section, and I gotta go to places like here and fan sites just to get a good release date chart.

Next week on Japan eShop

Is that how PSN handles delisted games in general or just specific to that download?

On the Wii shop delisted games are still downloadable provided you own them.

"Blues no Wana?!"

I love how the Rockman series has subtitles and part of me wishes we got them when they translated to Mega Man, too.

(1 never had one)
Dr. Wily no Nazo (The Mystery of Dr. Wily)
Dr. Wily no Saigo!? (The End of Dr. Wily!?)
Aratanaru Yabō!! (A New Ambition!)
Blues no Wana!? (Blues' Trap!?)
Shijō Saidai no Tatakai!! (The Greatest Battle Ever!)
Shukumei no Taiketsu! (Showdown of Destiny!)
(8 never had one)
Yabō no Fukkatsu!! (Revival of Ambition!)
Uchū kara no Kyōi!! (Threat from Outer Space!)

Yeah, so they're cheesy as hell. But so is Mega Man in general, so they fit perfectly.

Looks like Arc System Works is gonna release another sequel of that Visual Novel game with puzzle : here. I wish someone would localise the first two games :(

Meanwhile, that monthly VN series is still going strong in Japan : here. It's the series Circle Entertainment is planning to localise.

How is Ducktales Remastered? it is on sale half off, looking to pull the plunge.

I personally liked the game. It's pretty short, but pretty good (especially now that they fixed the hard pogo issue imo). The cutscenes can be a bit long-winded, but it's not too hard to skip them. It's like watching a Ducktales episode with good old-school platforming. I really love the music. It's remixed by the usual Wayforward music guy (I'm forgetting his handle right now, but I think his real name was Jake).

Jake Kaufman AKA "virt".

I liked it a lot. It feels a lot like the NES version but maybe a bit easier. Still, it's a difficult game. I would recommend it especially at the sale price.

Thanks!

Read a bunch of Pocket Football Club reviews and I will probably skip it after all. I wanted a light manager but the game sounds too shallow even for me. That you have to watch all the 10 minute long matches with no interaction besides maybe substitutions also doesn't sound great.

Mario Golf Demo already up? Or do we have to wait some more? :(

Really looking forward to try it (hopefully not too much blocks, my card is getting full)

But 10 minutes compulsory watching of each match?? I did not know this. Hopefully they can patch this to add a Fast Forward button.
According to the Iwata asks it is an intended part of the design so it won't get patched. Kind of like the content issue with Steel Diver you just think "at least they asked...".

As soon as I heard about that I thought, "great, so its a game I play while doing something else" (I've got Pokemon for that...)

Any JP 3DS owners download the Ace Attorney Collection? I've been trying to do so, but the download fails not far into downloading, and since my Japanese isn't too great, I can't read the error message. Help?

Edit: Nevermind, found a workaround.

Sounds like a Metal Gear game with some editing.

Nintendo Football Club is up in Europe. As well as the Mario Golf demo.

Oh man, SMB3 on 3DS VC for reals this time? Will buy.

Did anyone try that game with the skateboarding cat a couple weeks back? Looked like it might be fun.

Also, I say steer clear of that burgertime game, not for any quality reasons, but because you can jump. Sheer blasphemy.
