Rise of Incarnates by Namco's Tekken/SoulCaliber/GundamEx staff [PC exclusive?]

This looks like an off-brand version of Gundam EXVS or Gunslinger Stratos... except it's being handled by one of the same development teams. I'm honestly curious to see where this goes.

Feeling the Anarchy Reigns vibes hard. And it's being done by the Gundam Extreme Versus squad. I'm down!

Hopefully this hits consoles because my old girl couldn't run this even if she wanted to.

What's happening there exactly ?

Hopefully it's an arena brawler like Powerstone or even Smash Bros. I'm not really into Street Fighter, Tekken, Mortal Kombat style fighting games. I prefer more movement around an area.

It's obviously some sort of celebrity. Those are all his fangirls clinging onto him and there's a camera hovering over him taking pictures.

While this looks cool, Im kinda turned off by the overly busy character designs. Esp whatever the hell the first guy turns into...

You need to turn it into one of those "party hard" meme gifs lol

Obviously they're going for the Bieber-aged audience with that fucking hair and I can't blame them since Tekken 3 added some "grit" and "edge" for our (or my) generation. Character designs are terrible, though.

Bunch of screens at https://www.facebook.com/riseofincarnates.

Looks like a devil may cry 3D fighting type thingy.

Considering the 2v2 gameplay and the devs behind it, it looks like it's going to play very similar to the Gundam Extreme VS series: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBD7HCWcOls#t=330

Not like it's a bad thing at all considering how great the series is in general, especially for competitive play. Hell, some of the moves look like they're pulled straight out of EXVS. Will be interesting to see where this goes considering it's F2P as well.

Who's developing this? Byking? They haven't mentioned anything about it on their site, so maybe not? I personally think it's hilarious when promotional material say "FROM THE CREATORS OF <insert a bunch of shit here>" without really clarifying who they're even referring to. :P

The Gundam VS Arcade team? This could be really good. Not liking the character design but if it's fun who cares.

My buddies and I often make small lans and this game looks interesting for it. F2P makes it so much easier to get everyone on board so no complaints from me about that.

Graphics don't look all that good for a pc game, something tells me this maybe coming to PS3 as well. Aerial fighting is not my thing but if it's fun I'll give it a whirl, not particularly impressed with the character designs yet, want to see some more chars.

Why are people comparing this to Anarchy Reigns?
AR's multiplayer can go up to 32 players (16 vs. 16), not 2 vs 2! Lol

It's made by the team behind the amazing GvG games and it's the gameplay looks pretty similar?!

I'm definitely in for this one. Could care less about the art style.

This looks really great and if Markman says it looks good I have double faith.

Hopefully it has a decent lifespan and has a regular stream if new characters, oh and keeps the F2P shit to a sane level.

Don't really game on PC, but I'd be willing to do so to give this game a try.

It's not the Gunsling Stratos home port I wanted, but this may do for now!

This was originally a junior's post so I'm quoting it; I figured it deserved more of a chance than to be hidden inside of a trademark thread.

I'm a little curious about the PC exclusive part, but the game itself looks pretty slick.
Thanks ;-)

Played the game a little bit, it's fun, good controls and action is fast paced. Want to see what the other characters will be like.

Reminded me of Anarchy Reigns as well.

F2P has me cautious.

At least the Tekken/Soul Calibur ppl are doing something new I guess.

Thanks ;-)

Cool deal. What exactly where the controls like? Were you primarily locked onto a target but could switch between your two opponents?

Looks great, wish i had a PC to play this. I hope this has at least a quarter of the variety that Extreme VS Full Boost has.

Yep, just like that. The controls are nice. They hooked a 360 gamepad so couldn't try it on the mouse/keyboard, but I think it will be the average FPS control scheme on this.

Characters can either morph or call a summon or stand (like Jojo's Bizarre Adventure style).

They told us in the interview that this is a new approach to deathmatch games, to be able to count on a partner.

It's an interesting choice, since as they say, when you have 4x4 battles or even more people, you really don't care much about your partners, but with only one partner against 2 other opponents you will need to take care of each other if you want to survive.

Since it's free to play, I think this will be something worth checking. And they were really excited to have this exclusive on the PC.

Were the controls kinda sorta like this then (just assume the PS3 controller is a 360 one)? Of course I wouldn't expect it to be exact.

Was that Dr. Wily?

With Megaman in a Nintendo fighting game, Wily had to branch out and not feel left behind.

Really glad to hear the similarities to EXVS. I think it's a genre that could be really popular in the West, as it is in Japan.

Yarp, F2P and being on PC as well drops the high barrier that EXVS Full Boost currently has with import pricing and online pass. Local tourney setups would be easier to setup too.

Game Informer article.

Basically confirms this is Baba's game and is Namco Bandai's play to bring the EXVS system to the west with hopes for a wider audience than Gundam would draw.

Apologies if this was posted already, I didn't see it.

(Reading how the GI guy acted like a normal EXVS hamlord-noob when he played warmed my heart.)
