In the "Coming Soon" section of the PS4 store, there is a promo for the Super Turbo Championship Edition of Guacamelee and it has a price of "free."

Typo or is this going to be cross-buy (I own the PS3 version)?

Regarding Strider -
I still can't get over how disappointing the game was. I finished up the speed run trophy/achievement and promptly deleted it from my hard drive. It's one of less than 5 games I disliked enough to write a negative review for on Steam. There are some franchises that get taken in new directions and it works out well (Metroid Prime, for example) and there are some that really don't (Strider and Blackgate).

To further expand for anyone interested in my disappointment with Strider, let's see if I can recall all of the issues I had with the game:

Gat DAYUM. I have seen you stating your dislike for this game for a little bit, and was curious as to why, and was getting ready to axe you to elaborate. You've gone above and beyond. That is one heck of a list, all valid reasons also. I never was able to finish the originals when I was younger, and never have gone back to them, but I love the games and the character series, the Striders, not just Hiryu. I'd really like to know more about the world and all that. I'd ask what you'd recommend in order to get more knowledge, but I assume the answer will be along the lines of "Play them all (aside from the most recent), and read the manga!"
:P
I will get around to it, one day..

Nice write up though, most appreciated.

There definitely could have been more enemy variety, and color in the locales, improvements to the fast travel system and a new game + where you have all the fun movement abilities from the get go.

...but once they started introducing some new enemy types that weren't different colored robot troops, I was like "ok, cool starting to pick up" and got over it. I was starting to complain that those spikeball hefty-bots should have been cyber gorillas, and then...

I don't agree that it needs incentive to kill respawning enemies... the combat and traversal is so fluid and fun, that it's just fun to slice up shit you don't need to, or deftly maneuver around it all like they are living platformer obstacles. I always felt kept on my toes, almost like I was doing stunts and showing off for my own satisfaction. Strider's always been a spastic dash through things for me, and just doing away with archaic stuff like lives and continues for the sake of faithful arcade ports, so getting a lifebar out of the Metroidvania design was peanut butter and chocolate for me. It allowed you to maintain joyous momentum, rather than repeatedly interrupting it.

It was just so much my kinda game, and I marvel at the level design being able to be interconnected, contextually believable and still accommodate all the non-stop acrobatic momentum and diverse moveset.

I honestly don't know that much about the Strider IP in general -- just the generic story shared between the arcade game, the NES game, and the newest entry. I know there is a manga and I know Strider 2 was a PSOne game and Hiryu kicks total ass in the MvC series...

dat feel when the bus leaves you behind as I'm running right next to it ;__;

No one noticed you? I would just slam the window.

Btw freedom wars site updated.

Alright, so I didn't know Child of Light had co-op. Not interested in buying another controller right now, but I should be able to use the vita as one. This was touted as a PS4 feature but I never see people talk about it. I'm guessing 'second controller' falls under remote play. Has anyone had success using this w/ other games?

Used it to play Knack with my girlfriend. Worked fine.

i've used the vita as a controller to play resogun before.

and Cult County too :(

Cult Country deserved the failure every bit. Renegade Kid wants 580k? Who the fuck is Renegade Kid (I know the answer) to ask for so much money. The Kickstarter didn't have anything to show besides 2 artworks and a "gameplay" video later on.
While I totally agree with them ditching the 3DS, it wasn't the best idea of them to leave their fanbase behind.

Is their page not updated with the new stretch goals? The only thing I see is an update that says that they are "interested in" the Vita and Wii U.

The main page of the Kickstarter isn't updated. The new stretchgoal is mentioned in update 7:

That would be fantastic (especially seeing as how I own the PS3/Vita version aswell) but it's probably just a mistake considering it's a complete redesign of the game with new levels and content. I'm still hoping for a discount of some sort for original owners though.

Poor Flandy :(

I've used it for co-op on Mercenary Kings, Knack and Trine 2 with no issues. Just boot the game up with your original controller, get the Vita to enter via remote play, then register the PS4 controller to another user on the PS4 so you don't have both controlling the same thing and operating separately instead.

What? I feel bad for the people who stocked up on (soon-to-be) unplayable PSP/PS1 games if true.

Well then... Hopefully they change that in the full version.
Actually it has in game screenshot, its in the bottom corner, allows direct upload to twitter also.

Why in the hell are they doing that? Thats a really dumb move!

Sony got too much good feedback for the Vita, people actually were interested, they just couldn't handle that....

No but seriously this is just stupid no matter how you look at it and will most likely backlash pretty heavy.

Yep. And concerning physical copy, both Zaavi and Base don't have it anymore.

Good idea, but I can't find it on UK store.

Best way to find all the add-ons for a game is to search for the game first, click on it and then scroll down to see all add-ons.

Welp. Just lost access to the titles that were added in on Monday. Luckily I downloaded a few demos and Crash 3 before they did it

Yes, I finally was able to beat that son of a bitch boss in the first Muramasa DLC. Whoever played it knows who I mean.

Just needed to grind another 5 levels (did some before) and use like 8 roasted yams, 6 bear bile tablets, 3 sakes and some other stuff. The difficulty spike with him is just insane.

so i was playing a game on my phone at work today, and it was running like shit, so i started thinking about getting a newer phone that would be better for games. then i felt dumb and though why don't i actually just get a portable gaming device instead of paying a lot of money for a new phone just for mobile games. so i decided i'm gonna get a ps vita finally, especially since i've been seeing more cross play ps+ games and been getting curious about remote play.

i know nothing about vita though, am i right about this newer slim model coming out in just a couple weeks? is it only being sold in this borderlands 2 bundle so far? if the new model is just around the corner i wanna hold off and make sure i'm not buying the older ones.

this is the new one right?

Post impressions and screenshots please! I need to know if it's native res.

Actually it really hard to tell due to the art style but Im guessing it not. Some of the full body models/ portraits of the characters look great. While in the overworld/battle phase player/enemies model seem to be rendered at a lower resolution. Take it as it is with a grain of salt. It a demo and my eyesights pretty bad :p.

It still quite colorful and stylized in a way that people might like. Will post some screenshots later on to show what I mention above.
