Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 7: How Can My Smash Brother Be This Cut

Do you like pizza?

Love it.

What kind of desserts do you like?

I don't ussually eat desserts, The closest thing you could call a sweet desert i like might be something Cinnamon based. If you can call some type of Cinnamon bun a desert, and I don't really like that all the time. I enjoy the occasional krispy kreme donut.

It also helped through my youth my birthdays weren't celebrated, so I never really missed out on cake or whatever.

Favorite type of krispy kreme?

The fact that you guy are arguing over such small details kinda lends credence to my theory.

And I agree with it hahah all we know is SalRomano got an email from a guy. We don't know where this guy got his "leak" info, for all we know it could have been a game of telephone to get the info.

There IS a language barrier to. This info was translated at one point. There is so much potential ambiguity that could have occured. (Animal Crossing Guy? Pokemon from XY?)

The translation aspect is a good point. Maybe we are getting puck man instead of PAC man

and the Mii is actually that thing from despicable me

No one ever mentions the Rhythm Tengoku monkeys who have appeared in all the games and even got a hat in Streetpass Plaza.
Since Rhythm Heaven doesn't have a definitive "main character," it probably just comes down to which character Sakurai feels best represents the series and has the most potential. The anthropomorphic Wii Balance Board is technically considered the mascot of Wii Fit, and Miis are technically the playable characters, but Wii Fit Trainer is in Smash Bros. because she's a personification of the yoga and strength training exercises. Similarly, the Chorus Men are musicians in a music/rhythm game -- they immediately portray what the Rhythm Heaven series is about.

Chrom is actually Lucina, the leaker actually just said "New blue-haired Fire Emblem character with a sword"

Shulk is actually She-Hulk from Marvel comics

Never thought of that, that's pretty cool too. Would definitely explain why they're in over Karate Man.

That red cheeks in the last panel is an emotion depiction, nothing really else about it.

That has to be Marshal, he's in the game the entire way through from tutorial to credits and they put "NOT Marshal" in the pea game? That sounds weird to me.
Marshal doesn't wear a bow tie. That's a defining characteristic of the Chorus Men.

You could say the same thing about the constantly pink cheeks?

The "definitive" traits are all white, black bead eyes, and a big mouth with sharp teeth. Characteristics of both of them.

This why there is so much crossover. Who's to say Marshal ISN'T a chorus man?

1. It's not defining of Marshall if the Chorus Men also have it. (Pink cheeks). Compare to the bow tie, which Marshall never has.
2. Chorus Men always have bow ties, even in G&W.
3. Because they both appear separately in Fever.

1. Chorus men don't have constant pink cheeks save for one panel of that one picture.

2. This is all speculative discussion until the identity of that character in the pea game is outright said. It could be Marshal with a bow tie on.

All this "logic" is bases on the assumption that really is a "Chorus Man".

All I'm saying is there is crossover, there isn't much room to outright deny who it ISNT because of all the ambiguity.

I don't care which one it is as long as it is one of them. That ending credits music to Rhythm Tengoku Fever is ridiculously catchy man.

So you're saying the never had them... Except for the one (two) times they did. Obviously they did, like I said.

The most logical assumption is that it's a Chorus kid. All characteristics are shared between the two except one, which says it's a Chorus kid. It's pretty straightforward.

I have no idea what your second to last sentence is trying to say.

The ambiguity is lessened because the leaker named them specifically, in addition to all the other evidence for the Chorus Men being more prevalent in and out of the franchise.

I'm just happy we're at a place where we are discussing the possibility of a Rhythm Heaven character! I think that series deserves it.

I wish we could discuss other smaller franchises as well :)

Okay. They don't have them then. Pink cheeks are an emotion depiction. Chorus men don't have them as permanent traits.

We're debating about semantics and two traits that may or may not be liberally crossed over between the two. A bowtie and cheeks.

I'm saying they can be EASILY confused and mistaken for one another. You're already denying its a character because of an article of clothing and "men".

I'm just trying to keep both possibilities open for discussion.

Same here; the more obscure the better IMO.

I would totally be down with Chibi Robo 'charging' into battle btw.

I still wish that they would make a Custom Robo rep. It's one of my favorite Nintendo series and you would hardly need to stretch for an interesting moveset.

Like Golden Sun?

I don't think Sakurai is very sales motivated, however, part of me wonders if Issac would have made the cut had Dark Dawn done better.

Something about his late reveal as an assist trophy and his music in Brawl always made it seem like Sakurai was considering him at some point, at least to me.

Dark Dawn wasn't announced until E3 2009.

<3 !!

That reminds me!! Remember the Pacman cloud thing? I think I found something in the Greninja trailer that could hint
probably not
at Chibi Robo!

Do you guys see it? What is that?

Obviously I'm not serious hahah but its interesting because its a little off.

And it kind of resembled him too :p am I the only one that sees it?

I see it.

I think TheLegendOfCap explained what I was trying to explain much better than I could. It's all very subjective and there is a lot of crossover between Marshal and the Chorus Men. I'd be chuffed if either is in the game since snagging a spot in a game like Smash is sure to turn heads and intrigue people into checking out a smaller series like Rhythm Heaven.

I'm sure a lot of younger Nintendo fans would've been intrigued as to the origins of characters like G&W or Ice Climbers when Melee rolled out, and picked up an interest in other franchises like Metroid or Zelda just so you can better understand its representation in Smash. It's why crossovers are awesome.

I would love if we got a character tomorrow since it's a Friday and since the Direct we've had a flood of information in the Direct and the press photos, but the dailies have been arguably disappointing. E3 is getting closer and closer, I'd hope that we start seeing the steam pick up closer to release, but I wouldn't mind if a lot of the veterans like Falcon or Ness are unlockables.

I'm sure a lot of Nintedo fans had their first exposure to Metroid in Smash.

While I had never played a Metroid game I knew of Samus from the posters I got with SNES games. Ness and Captain Falcon were introduced to me with Smash 64 though.

All I played as a kid was Pokemon and Mario on N64, GBC and GBA, and I had a PS2 rather than a GCN.

I played Twilight Princess when I got my Wii, and Metroid Prime 3 later, and I knew other series existed but didn't really know a lot about them, but so much of Nintendo was introduced to me through Brawl.

And now that we're going into Smash 4 I've played games from pretty much every characters series :D

Wouldn't be the first time Nintendo made a series based on a Smash character. Remember Marth and Pit? :-P

Except they screwed up the localization of Marth's name in Melee. It's clearly supposed to be Mars if you actually read his name in the original name. Say both out loud. You know which one is correct. They ended up ruining Fire Emblem in the West because of it.
Sorry, probably too subtle.

Like Golden Sun?

Replaying the original on the VC at the moment and as far as sword wielding RPG Nintendo characters go I'd so much sooner have Issac than the rumoured Chrom and Shulk, even if Golden Sun is the lesser of the three games here to me.
It's all about that moveset potential, Psyenergy and Djinn could make for an interesting moveset, there's a ton of potential in there, I mean even the AT in Brawl turned the simplistic "move" psyenergy into a surprisingly effective means of getting a KO.

At the very least i'd hope to see the 3DS version's handheld stages focus take Golden Sun into account regardless of if it gets a playable character or not, only two music choices would be tricky business though.

They do have the pink cheeks though. You can't just ignore the cheeks because it doesn't fit your theory. Marshall never has the bow tie. They're not comparable.

Once again, I have no idea what you're trying to say in your second to last sentence. If you want to debate the chorus men, you can also debate every other leaked character, like people were making fun of before.

"Did he really mean Chrom? Fire Emblem characters are confusing, two characters named Marth use the same sword!"
