I don't understand why so many people seem to think we'll get Wario announced for Mario Kart 8's release. I mean, yeah, he's in the game...but the game's not about him or anything. It's not even his own franchise. I imagine that Wario's character page on the website would link to the official website for Game & Wario, not Mario Kart 8.

Since we noticed that Charizard acted out the summoning animation when he had special flag in his hand. I was thinking about possibilities about assist trophies, etc so I'm tossing few things out of my mind for now.
Special Flag - would summons a family of Bandai-Namco arcades
E-Tank - would summon Mega Man characters
Video Monitors (Item Boxes) - would summon Sonic the Hedgehog characters
Yashichi - would summon Capcom characters such as Phoenix Wright, Amaterasu, Arthur/Firebrand, Zack and Wiki, Ryu/Chun Li
I can't think of any items that would represent SEGA very well. I can imagine those two items would summon the characters that have debut on Nintendo consoles.

Yup. And they dismissed it as "there can be Assist Trophies representing a series with no playable character". Even though Wario was already an established character in Brawl, with no valid reason to be cut.
They had their doubts about Captain Falcon returning as well. Ness wasn't brought up.

Isaac would be bar none, my most hyped character. Has been my most wanted character for smash 4 this entire time.
Isaac would also bring more songs than just those Golden Sun songs in Brawl
And we could always use more of that

For Sega, I guess you could make a case for the emblem.
It's best remembered from Sonic now, but it was a recurring theme in some of their earlier game's title screens.
There's probably something better, but I can't think of anything else right now.

I'm getting my hopes up! The fact that he became an Assist Trophy, had his stickers, even had some songs going for him. I expect him to be playable!
I have reason to believe another AT will become playable, that belongs to Isaac!
He can even have a Matthew alternate costume.

I don't think his chances are that great anymore but I have always felt his move set potential is amazing.

Isaac isn't just some sword character. That title belongs to Marth all the way. Isaac would have his psyenergy attacks, which would be all unique.

agree, I just thought about a djinni as an item, while you hold it, it modifies your knock back or defense and when released, it attacks, heals you, etc. something like that
