You can only play NHA for like 5 minutes a day if you're on the F2P version. I'm halfway through world 4 but I don't know how I'm going to complete the bestiary without unlimited plays.

I'd say it's impossible. One can slowly crawl to finish the 8 "chapters" without buying the mega pack, but completing the monster/heropedia? Would take ages.

Ya done good. Ya done real good. You'll love it. My last HSG before it was Open Tee 1, hundreds of hours poured in to it. World Invitational was everything I could have hoped for. With the DLC it has a plethora of courses to master. Even without it, the 6 available are great. With the cross play with PS3, the online has plenty of offerings. Plus, there is a fair amount of us here that play it, though we haven't done an online match in a while, or ever D:

I'd love to collect all the VitaGolfersGaffers PSN names, so we could at least do the turn based online mode! That way our schedules won't be as impeding. C'mon gaf!

Is it region free? With it being affordable in the US and free in may for Europe, that could be a good time to arrange a tournament or two? Might be worth a community thread and then linking to it here..

IIRC the online was region locked when the game released. But memory is hazy as usual and that may have changed with an update.
Sign me up for a Gaf tourney.

I believe it is, but I can't say I remember playing against anyone in a different country. So I really can't confirm 100% on it. Here is a link to the community thread OT though, last post was November 3rd by our very own - heckmanimation. With it about to go free for Plus for EU, I imagine it will get a little lively in there for a little bit.

I'd really like to get World Invitational (for PS3) but I can't really justify it since I've barely touched Out of Bounds since I got it over a year ago when it was on sale.

So guys, I'm late to the party and then some, but what are the positives of Vita 2000 ?
I'm aware of the change of display type, but what other changes are there ? Is the new model more ergonomic ? Other changes ?

Better battery life which is a big one IMO, it's rated at an hour longer but people have said it lasts far longer than that, also I believe it's slightly lighter as well.

Seems like the triggers have changed too. It would be fantastic if the new ones don't try to dig a hole in your hands during long play sessions. Can somebody confirm that the new model is easier on the hands or is it wishful thinking on my part ?

Lighter, longer battery life, better triggers, screen can get dimmer than the oled (which is great for me, I usually used the oled model with brightess all the way down and sometimes it still bothered my eyes). Of course, the lcd screen gets quite bright too.

I find it more confortable to hold, too, but I had to adjust the way I hold it because of the rounded edges (I held the oled mostly with my index fingers in the flat side, other fingers barely touching it - not possible anymore). Also its thinner, so I dont know how it'd fare for someone with big hands.

Didn't know there was DLC for it. What is the DLC and how much are they charging for it?

This is great news, though. Finally just copied over to my Vita. Can't wait to start playing it.

Really? How so? That's game changing for me.

DLC is 3 characters (1 is Kat from Gravity Rush), 3 new courses, and a ton of level 4 and 5 clubs and balls. Balls are $.49, while the clubs are $.99. I believe they are mainly aimed at online play, because they can't be used (the level 4 & 5 items) in the single player tournaments. I bought them all (courses and characters, no gear) a while ago when they first came out, and haven't really played the new courses much, but they are very nice. I believe there is a bundle pack that has the characters & courses that saves you some moneybucks. Also, DLC is cross buy as well.

Wow, the PSN is in really bad shape for me : nw-8942-3 on vita and 404 on the web store.
Maaaan I was getting all kinds of errors on the web store about 30 min ago. Seemed to have cleared up, but it's kinda.."stuttery"..

I have also been having troubles with my Vita connecting lately. Plentiful errors. Turning the system off and then back on always clears it right up, annoying all the same though..

That was my plan, was going to take it easy after that trophy.

Then their server hitched for a day and a half and no one could log in so I have another 28 days to go.

Wait so their server f* up restarts your count? Cause today should've been my 20th day, >:(

F2P... Killing the PSN thread very effectively. All hail the mobile overloads I guess?
:-(

Destiny of spirits is so well made I really don't care. I don't think I've ever played such a balanced F2P game.

Yep. Really weird, even more seeing how Batman and Injustice for Vita no longer have the Plus-discount that had each for $12.59.

I'll give Destiny of Spirits another try one of these days. Has there been a patch that shortens load times even more yet?

No More Heroes isn't bad for a F2P game, except you can only play 3 times a day if you don't pay up some cold hard cash. It's fine for me though since I still have Demon Gaze to go through and the two FFX games that I haven't even downloaded onto my Vita yet.

So guys just buyed a used PS4.
Got home, set up the internet connection, and got my first errors.
First NW-31194-8 which wouldn't let me connect to PSN, and then CE-33986-9 which failed the internet connection test.

It's a problem of the servers, like maintenance, or (dear god i hope not) of the console itself?

Thanks

It's probably related to PSN. There's a list of PS4 error codes here: https://support.us.playstation.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5111/~/ps4:-error-codes

Is there a good way to use headphones (without a built in mic) to use the controller audio (which I'm forced to do, since PS4's audio outputs are fucked) along with a standalone mic? I figured something like this would work, but want to see if anyone has tried it. If they're adding bluetooth headset support in the future, that would work even better.

headphone output goes into splitter input 1, mic goes into splitter input two, splitter output goes to controller port.

It's rather curious how it has most of the features that Asian F2P games use to trick you (random summons, merging for leveling up your spirits, stamina for raids...) yet it's done on a way they aren't really "tricking" you to do anything. I don't know if I'm explaining it well.

The free orbs they've been giving haven't helped either. I still think I may spend something on this game to support the devs, but I don't feel I'm hitting a wall like I do in other F2P titles

I'm having issues with PSN on my PS4 at the moment. Not my primary console, so while it says I'm signed into PSN, all my content is actually still locked. When I click on the content, it says " Cannot start the application. The PS4 is not connected to the internet and cannot verify the license for the application." But I am signed in. I have a friends list. My disk version of BF4 works and I can join servers. I've ran the Internet Test in the settings a few times, and out of around 11 tries, had it fail on PSN sign in twice. But it does sign in every other time.

I'm thinking that PSN is having some issues at the moment. That, or my PS4 or account is somehow messed up. :/

Seems to be working now. Lasted about 30 minutes though. Very odd.

Guys, I need some help. I could google it but I feel more safe asking here. I plan on buying Terraria and the FFX pack for my Vita (yay!). I already have the money but I didn't want to use it now, because someone gave me it and I'm feeling uncomfortable using it. Then I just discovered that Paypal has something called I think "Bill me later". Did someone here already used that? How does it work? Does the store need to allow it for me to use it? Thanks in advance.

Something is afoot, as Demon Gaze is no longer on the VIta store (via the Vita) and cannot be purchased from the SEN web page in the UK.

Maybe all that fanservice got somebody's attention?

Shame as I have had enough fermented grape, that I was gonna purchase this dungeon crawler. Might need to grab Curry God instead.

I saw someone mention that they forgot to upload it to PSN last week and will be doing it next week.

Hmmm lets see if this impulse lasts until then. That said Y's: Celceta has finally clicked for me, took a while but enjoying the vibe and gameplay. Maybe I should work through my backlog rather than adding to it....

NAHHHHH!

Calling VitaGAF, need some help! What should I pick up Sorcery Saga or the Sly Trilogy (never played these)? VitaGAF unite!

Depends on what genre you like. Sly games are platformers, but u need 3-4 GB since Sly 3 is a downloadable game.
the Sly games are also love them or hate them kind of games. Scorcery Saga has generic looking animu characters but if you like RPGs you can get that instead.

Real answer though?
Both

Do you like dungeon crawling rpg where your levels are tied to your equipment? Did I also mention dying in a dungeon causes you to lose all your equipment?

Sly trilogy is a solid platformer.

Thanks VitaGAF, I think I need a platformer in my life, as I am working my way through several RPG's at the moment.... Good looking out!
