There is one solution that we might take. The solution is that we might locked lurkers out with setting up the password, and people will find password in this thread by clicking the quote. Our regular lurkers who have been in the chatroom will be notified as well like couple of days before E3.

That's one of most reasonable things said in these threads. When Conan O'Brien got a new background that vaguely resembled Mario BG art, the comparison made the rounds so widely that they made an elaborate joke about it on the show.

Ridley's cool and all, but not a lot of things are iconic. Samus herself sure as hell isn't.

Smash characters being super niche is fine, I'm just rapidly wearying of seeing a very weighty word be completely misused in character discussions.

Ridley is not.

He is an incredibly iconic character from the Metroid series, even Sakurai seems to see this having had Ridley be featured in Melee's opening cinematic where he by far has the biggest scene of the 3 non playable characters featured in it (Wolf appears for a brief second and has gone on to be playable, Samurai Goroh appears for a brief second and has gone on to be an assist trophy twice). Metroid is a bigger series then Star Fox and F-Zero both in terms of popularity and in terms of number of games

Ridley featured as a boss TWICE in Brawl's story mode and is likely to be a boss again in Smash 4 being the most heavily teased of the bunch. Samus and the Metroid series is one of Nintendo's major franchises and Ridley being the largest antagonist from that series is equally as iconic as Ganondorf or Wolf who have been featured in Smash before.

I get that people are sick of hearing the Ridley fan base cheer for him to be in Smash and are sick of the denial some fans have over him being featured as a boss in this game. He's literally been featured in more games then Ganondorf who was the main villain of 3 Zelda games and referenced in another 3. Ridley has been a major boss in 7 Metroid games including being the final boss of Zero Mission. If we consider Ganondorf to be an iconic villain then we have to consider Ridley the same way

Ignoring the fact that Ganondorf is the same entity as Ganon, Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess have all sold much more than any of the Metroid games. Ridley is nowhere near as iconic or recognizable as Ganondorf.
