qub = is quarter circle back

it might be back quarter circle but you should get the idea, I might have added in an extra pimp smack while mag is in the air by mistake but if you really wanna optimize mid screen mag combos, you gotta go for the Rayray combos. Its flashy but gets that delicious extra damage you might need.

Reading through that UNIEL wiki and the story and characters are pretty interesting. I wonder if Arcsys would cram a story mode in it like what they have for BlazBlue but given how soon the game is coming out I doubt it.

you should always take orgo by itself, class is hell. it gets to the point where you start to see signs as molecules and elements.

Yeah, that's what I learned when I scraped by with a C. I absolutely hated that C, it burned a hole through my transcript. Doubling up on science courses is fucking awful; any lurkers out there take heed.

I'm starting to appreciate Tekken players a lot more. Fuck backdash cancelling and just framing.

my friend who usually gets top 8 at tekken in the nyc scene is a monster at dashing in marvel, i feel like i waste my time learning how to plink on pad -_-

also, first to 50 (aka first to death) is happen on fgtv, yipes vs champ.

Since UNIEL is coming to console I figure it would be good for us to share information resources on the game. I saw this on twitter today and it's the best written primer for the game that's in English.
There's one wonky thing that I don't get from that explanation: given how they explain shield and guard shield, is the only difference that trying to shield in blockstun costs 10 meter, but also gives you more pushback? Meter caps at 200 and builds rather slowly outside of chain shift, so that's not insignificant.

There's a couple of really smart things about UNIEL's system that I realized from reading that. The game could damn well have the best autocombo system in an anime fighter yet. it's basically an extension of the universal 6AAA string for Half-moon characters in Melty Blood, except now it includes specials and supers. You can also chain into and out of it at any time during the normals in the auto combo. This gives new players a basic blockstring and combo, the flexibility to do something else out of that autocombo once you start wanting to do more with it, and additional options for blockstrings and combos for advanced players (since autocombo normals do not count as the same normal in a chain, outside of the initial 5A).

Also, I like how they realized that MB style throws always seemed a bit too risky relative to their reward, and gave throws the ability to GRD break people who are shielding. Given how important GRD state is in the game... that's a rather significant buff (without affecting the raw damage proposition).

A couple of random news bits from French Bread's Twitter feed: it sounds like they are planning their next developer stream to be during Golden Week (probably showing off PS3 stuff (intentionally, this time)) and they're open to a PC version (but it doesn't officially exist yet).

Reading through that UNIEL wiki and the story and characters are pretty chuunibyou.
Fixed. Personally, I can't get over the fact that the organization the main character(s) belong to is called YATO. -_-

It's a push block that consumes meter like in Injustice.

They were probably going for this with the name Yato seeing how a lot of the mythology from the game comes from actual Japanese folklore and Buddhist teachings and mythology.

The arcade version actually does the story quite a bit of justice as it is at the moment. If French-Bread wanted to do a story mode BB like they do have the experience. It wouldn't surprise me if the game had an actual story mode to supplement what the arcade mode already provides. Would be a huge call back to Re-Act's Story Mode if they did.

I'm hoping there's a way to play the game pre-V2 balance for funsies. DEM 1 PLAYA COMBOZ!

And I've been wondering if FB ever got around to talking to Lab Zero about Fliia?

Do I see SvC Chaos?

The AES Version with Uni-Bios if I'm correctly looking at the picture.

I am however completely puzzled as why Firebrand is on the ground blocking and the screen isn't completely filled with "stuff."

They confirmed that a second new character is coming to the console version so Fillia could be in. Also this looks like some potential sprite work to me

He hadn't played it before so he didn't get the hold of it till the next match or so. He loved the Exceed super grab though.

Cool then. You're not playing that character unless you're playing cheap. Which surprisingly given his tools is the only way he can be played.

Why would you do that? Might as well set up your studio on top of an Indian burial ground while you are at it.

The curse will have the reverse effect by making Tsukihime be magically finished so the next Melty Blood comes out.

I was surprised that F-B never got Examu to let one of their characters do the crossover thing. I could see Heart or Kuon in UNIB.

So, just saw a small interview of Dieminion on Nolife (a french TV channel about videogames), taken during Gamers Assembly: says he cancelled his first flight for "interviews and stuff", and decided not to take the second one a week and a half ago because French players talked him up the Stunfest tournament -- so he decided to stay a little bit more for that, because he knew that otherwise he would not come back. Also praised Luffy and Valmaster for their progress.

Spending the next 6-7 weeks watching this game instead of playing it and trying to figure stuff out is going to get really irritating. I'm so done with AE 2012 and want USF4 now so I can begin grinding again but we have no choice but to wait.

Same here. I'm trying to grid in ae2012 to be ready for Ultra but....ae sucks :lol need ultra nao

I am trying to watch this Yipes vs FChamp FT25 but holy crap it takes forever to load even 5 seconds. They just upload the highest quality footage at 60FPS and it's a pain in the ass trying to watch the archives on my Internet connection.

I just skipped forward to where they were about to finish the set.
Set score was 25-21 Yipes favor... but FChamp was using his Dormammu team (which is a bad match up against team Nemo).
Aside from that I can't make any comments on the set because it was unwatchable for me, hopefully it gets uploaded on Youtube.

For anyone who wants to see it:

http://www.twitch.tv/fgtvlive/b/523532102

Starts around the 2 hour mark.

Edit: Apparently there is a second FT25 set between FChamp and Yipes only this time FChamp used his Phoenix team in that same archive. The time chamber training is REAL!

You know whats funny, I think the match up is even worse for phoenix. On paper, with phoenix, the team should be better, but with her extremely low health and no use of meter, it doesn't look as viable. Of course lvl3 x-factor says otherwise but Nemo can completely stop that with the tactics he was using at Capcom Cup. Snap in Phoenix, call his shield and do nova force once then x-factor than use nova force again. If the Phoenix player doesn't x-factor, he/she has a dead phoenix on their hands, which was what F. Champ did (he x-factored), making her much less of a threat now as long as you play the match as your suppose to.

Using Dormmamu allows use of meter which is a pretty good upside but sadly Dormmamu is big body and is prone to a lot of high low set ups that Nova can do on him and Spencer can shut off his air game if a good spencer is playing (aka Knives' Spencer). However, the use of meter is essential to being able to one-touch kill a character and allow for a more obtainable win in my book. This would allow the player to get a higher probability of winning compared to the volatile character that Phoenix is.

Edit:

Champ said he would upload the ft25 on youtube. I think his channel is FGTVTube so you might see it later today or tomorrow.

He doesn't use Phoenix because it's a better match up for him.

He uses Phoenix because that's the only other character he can play at a high enough level and on a team where he can use Magneto + Plasma Beam or Rocks efficiently.

The problem is that he simply cannot use Dorm or Hidden Missiles which restricts him to his Phoenix team.

Another reason for him to use Phoenix is because FotF loops build a lot of meter for both players. And Nemo does that combo even when he can kill quicker. Yeah Nemo can go for the chip strategy but Nemo has to go all in on that (burn at least two to three meters and X factor on it). It's not really a great strategy in the long run and it's only usable in certain situations.

And FChamp will use a meter to kill Nova... he knows the team crumbles if the point dies. Still a decent team without Nova but he can handle the Mag vs Spencer match up better.

Just a heads up, the PXG online tournament starts in a little under an hour, there is $500 in cash and a bunch of avermedia prizes on the line, so expect a lot of good players to come out.

Justin Wong, Floe, Air, Smug, Whitegun, Brolylegz, Snakeyez, Nashfan, MLSwear, Jaycetheace, Shiine, Nuckledu, and Tommy Gunzz are the ones I am currently aware of.

I think the x-factor set up is a pretty viable strategy since you have a team that builds a lot of meter and also can kill in one touch. Seems like x-factor isn't even necessary as long as all three characters are alive. However, as you said, if the point dies, the team crumbles, which is very true. Guess Phoenix can be viable then.

I will agree that Champ's Dorm isn't as good as it can be, there is a lot of untapped potential in Dorm that will make him a terrifying character both zoning and on pressure.

Champ's Dorm is godlike and Dorm himself is an excellent character (he won EVO with him for god's sake!)... it's just not a match up that is favorable for Dorm. All 3 characters do well or straight up beat Dorm on Team Nemo.

Saw the result of the 2nd set...
Yipes got bodied 25-17.

You look like the guy at Devastation or was it some other tournament who was commentating and kept saying the wrong names for certain character's moves. Every time Rufus did Galactic Tornado, Tornado Galaxy was said, etc. It was funny to me personally.

Anybody down for SF PC later tonight? I need to brush up on my Ryu. Playing the game at a good frame rate has made my links improve!

Oh yes, that is me. The correct term is "that sf4answers guy", but I was under the impression that this was fairly common knowledge to FG-GAF (e.g. I know that CurlyW knows) as others have discussed this about me before.

I just happened to be on the mic when Art was talking about King of New York and 2O2F (since I helped sponsor both), I definitely wasn't looking to get back into commentary.
