Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 7: How Can My Smash Brother Be This Cut

What if Nintendo Land Ridley is playable?

Would be cool with this is they accurately represent him in his glorious Nintendo Land engine look

Needs non-imp version too.

We know the Smash 4 theme?

We don't really know much of anything about the music in the game outside of that screenshot of the My Music menu of Skyloft.
The music in the E3 trailer, and in the new direct it was heard for a little, and it's in that band concert thing. So it's probably the main theme.
Uematsu pls come back ;_;

As I listen to this more and more, I'm realizing how much I'm not feeling the Smash 4 theme. Does not even close to the excitement the main theme of previous Smash games bring.

It's weird for me. I don't really care that much for the official theme in the trailers, yet I really stuff like Big Band arrangement you pointed out as well as this piano version (the big band one gets me pumped!)

I don't think it'll be in the same league as the Melee/Brawl themes, but it'll probably hold out on its own just fine.

Beginning of the Smash Direct shows the theme, and then the Big Band played it for a bit too.

For some reason, when I was listening to the big band concert, I thought that music was from Kirby's Air Ride lol. It sounded familiar, but I couldn't pinpoint where I heard it.

I really like Smash 4's theme. It had a nice melody intertwined in the trumpets which gives it a grandiose feel.

What I like even more is that the music fit the trailer and the opening will likely match the music as well. They kind of did that in Melee which was great.

The menu arrangement of the theme is the more important one since that's the one we'll be hearing the most.
No please don't, the Brawl theme was so boring.
I liked every arrangement of the theme more than the main theme itself. But they shouldn't have used it everywhere.

They shouldn't have just solely used chanting.

It might not have been so bad if it was just the main theme, but instead they had it show up in every single menu and side mode.

It's most of the reason why I never finished boss battles with all the characters.

The joys of modding SSBB :D

But more important (since that's what made you quit Boss Battles):

Standard Boss theme:

Against Taboo: (So much better than his regular music imo)

Also, when that Melee character select theme kicks in...

I actually feel like the Melee theme is the weakest, save for the little interlude after the buildup, which is unmatched (and even then, I prefer the arrangement from Smashing Live!, which was then used in Brawl's version of the Melee theme). It's still good though.

Forget Uematsu, the man we need is Hirokazu Ando.

*brofist*

Only a man who has worked the ghetto-est of chip tunes into the most memorable songs ever can do us justice at this point. Him and Hip Tanaka are my favorites from Nintendo's early days.

Man, I still have my Smashing Live disc from back when I got Nintendo Power regularly. That disc to this day has some of the best renditions of Nintendo music on any media ever.

Dr. Mario - This song is just so damn playful sounding, I can't help but grin hearing it. That xylophone <3

Fire Emblem Medley - Back when Fire Emblem was this mythical series we knew nothing about and Marth was "that princess knight" for me, this song used to have me thinking of the most grandiose things. Man I was such a silly little kid.

Opening Theme - THE EXTENDED FLOURISH @ 0:37 into whatever instrument they use for that "clashing" sound effect @ :45 through :51 and then 1:21 to 1:51... lawd.gif

Original Medley - No lies, the rendition of the Rest Area in this song is so good I wish if it were an entire four minute long track. I can't tell you how many times I've started this song up just to listen to that much and that much alone. The transitions to the other Melee BGMs is great too.

Depths of Brinstar - I knew next to nothing about Metroid when Melee first launched. When I heard this, I knew I had to fix that. Dem bells. *shivers*

Edit: The use of the drums/percussion to simulate Samus' footsteps and the dissonant string section plucking set a really really tense/uncomfortable mood even in this little bit of music. Man they went all out on the ambiance now that I'm listening to it again.

A close second.

It does a lot to help redeem the opening theme too, so that's important.

Break the Targets ftw (bonus points for not being a remix of the Main Theme or the How to Play music :P)

Well, for one, I love Smash 4's Theme.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=egQ1rxUCbJc‎

Hearing it without any trailer noises really is a completely different experience. The theme grows on me evey time I hear it :D

Brawl's theme was great, but its remixes were even better.
The Final Destination Theme was incredible, as was the Trophy Gallery Theme.
Click on the "Transcript" button on Youtube on Final Destination for good times.

I personally think that the Smash 4 theme is a bit generic, but I remember the Nintendo Direct version sounding a bit more lively than the reveal trailer version, although I could be wrong.

Sakurai really needs to start releasing tracks for the game.

Speaking of music, I really really really really hope that Megaman's inclusion means that we'll be getting both classic series tunes and tunes from other spinoffs in the series as well. I've been listening to a lot of Jakob lately and hot damn I forgot how good that series had it musically.

Can't post music to miiverse :p

In all seriousness, I agree. You can embed youtube on miiverse, right? Or at least link to it. Problem with that, though, is I'm sure he'd feel obligated to include video with it.

Never get sick of the Melee theme, and I'm liking Smash 4's already.

I wasn't sold on the Smash 4 until the double whammy of the direct and big band concert rearrangements, so as long as they don't pull a Brawl and use it everywhere I think we have a winner.

Having the SSB64 character select theme baked in kinda helps too.

I've gotten so sick of the Brawl theme. The only rendition of the theme I like is the Battlefield ver 2 one.

Still love Melee's theme, and 4's seems pretty good.

The boss music was a remix of Melee's menu theme, so I don't understand this argument.

The Final Destination version of the theme isn't too shabby either. I remember when that song initially leaked and the internet temporarily dubbed it "Final Boss of All The Things" music. :lol

The main problem with Brawl's theme, besides the obvious repetition, is that it feels... Out of place. Too slow, too "epic" with the chanting, too sad. It really shouldn't have been the main theme of a Smash game.

They should bring back the 3D models on the character select screen!

But only the n64 models, or n64 versions of all the newcomers since smash 64.

Great, now I want low-poly models of everyone.

Quick, some really good/bad 3d modeling artist, I have a job for you.

I love the Smash 4 theme, but it's not really hype as such... it's more like a showcase piece... doesn't get me hyped to fight so much as it gets me hyped to play a game show, lol
