Nintendo Downloads - April 2014

Owning a Jap 3DS, I just bought the 4 Picross e games . Picross e, e2 & e3 are on sale this week (250 yens instead of 500 yens) but the 4th game isn't on sale.
Thank you Jupiter !!

I'm always waiting for sales like this (bought Mario vs DK eshop game and Solitaire horse on january when those were on sale)

Rune Factory is on sale (2600 yens) but as there are no furiganas, I'll not buy it.
Denpa Man 2 and 3 are on sale (400 and 500 yens respectively). That's nothing compared to european prices.

There is also that cool club nintendo japan picross game with nintendo puzzles!

Would love if the picross e games were on sale in the US. After getting Mario's Picross from Club Nintendo, I feel like I would dig the eShop Picross games, especially hearing how much better/improved they are.

Anyone know what megaman GB game we are getting next week? I'm hoping for MMV.
Nintendo.com still doesn't have the dates up yet, & it seems we won't know until May 1st. Poll ended on April 14th & it seems the top 3 (in random order) from April 7th were Mega Man V & both Xtreme games, so it's possible it might be one of those.

In my view, we should get a NES, SNES and GBA game each week. Would be much better.

Throw in other consoles like PC Engine, N64, Mega Drive etc. and run a rotation and it'd be even better.

Preach. I wouldn't even give a shit about the trickle if we at least had N64/Genesis, but nope.

I finally got around to doing the Wii to Wii U transfer and upgraded some games. Playing them on the Gamepad has definitely rekindled my love for the console, but I still need top tier love. Nintendo needs to step it up already

Another good week for me. Will get Child of Light, maybe Cave Story, and probably all three retail releases (Golf, EO, Hometown Story). Definitely interested in the demos.

Yep. Along with the DSiWare version's Jukebox mode, and all the additional modes included in Cave Story+.

I'm gonna buy it so hard.

Definitely also consider looking into Picross DS and Picross 3D if you're willing to track down DS games. They're amazing!

Also, I had a revelation the other day: if I can ever get a Japanese WiiU at bomba prices, that thing would be an amazing tool for digging into Japan exclusive stuff from the past via VC. I mean, now that they have GBA VC I could (potentially since not everything is out yet) get all the Fire Emblems I never played, plus Mother 3 and a ton of other stuff I haven't thought through yet. Man, I should definitely keep an eye on that.

There are some websites which sell the jap Wii u as superufo. They diminish the price of the package by 50% in order to have less tax. And after you can buy the games via eshop.

I've bought mine (Wii u pack Nsmb u - Wii party u-Wii fit + fit meter) during my Japan travel.

Do we know exactly what day and time Child of Light will go up? I've heard conflicting reports between Tuesday and Wednesday.

I assume if it's tomorrow it'll just happen sometime randomly vs say tonight at midnight.

Hmm I've been craving some Tetris might just get it if it ever goes on sale.

While Tetris Axis is good, and GB Tetris is a nice bit of nostalgia, Tetris Party Live Online for DSiWare is great.
Apparently though, I just checked, and that was removed from the eShop due to licensing 2 years ago. Good thing I still have it saved on my syste,

I would try this evening, at midnight. Failing that, noon EST would be a good bet.

The time to buy was in 1991, friend.

me : "I think I will get Super Mario World to see how is the virtual console on WiiU"

friend : "...but you already played 320 times in at least 3 consoles"

me : "...and I would gladly play more 320 times"

Besides the fact that my WiiU has NSM2DU and I will get Super Mario Cat ... with Super Nabbit U as a dlc later.

And Mario kart.

IT IS A MARIO MACHINE !

Just wait till they release Mario's Time machine on the VC and your WIIU will be complete

A shame, maybe I'll get Gameboy Tetris instead? I mean the GB ver. was one of the system's best sellers.

Your best choice overall would Tetris DS - but that's a regular DS game (which will, of course, play on the 3DS, but nonetheless), physical only, and fairly expensive these days. But, if you're looking for the best portable version of Tetris, that would be it.

Between Tetris Axis and Tetris (GB), the choice would be more if you're just looking for the base, core "Tetris" experience (no holding pieces, etc.), or if you want more out of your Tetris (as Tetris Axis offers a bunch of modes, online, etc.)

Frankly, unless you're just looking for the straight, nostalgic, pure Tetris experience of the GB version, I would say probably go with Tetris Axis.
Or track down Tetris DS

I have a bit of a Tetris obsession. I have probably around 20 different versions of Tetris.
Tetris Party Live Online is usually my go-to portable one (while Tetris DS is better, there's the convenience of always having Tetris Party Live Online available on my system). It's a shame it was pulled for licensing reasons.

Capcom announced that they will release their GBA games on WiiU VC service.

dunno if old or not but good news nevertheless

edit: source is gonintendo (which crashes constantly on my PC due some wierd emirates ads)

So do we really have to wait til Thursday for Child of Light in Europe? Seems every other platform and region has it now.

Awesome, nice to know.

(Though still odd they could get it a little early but not quite early enough to match other releases)

Tetris DS it is then. My 3DS is EU so I'll see if I can somehow find a cheap ver. of it. I remember playing it on a friend's DS, didn't it have some stages resemble Nintendo games?
