US PSN: Golden Week Sale Celebrates Japanese Games

I ended up grabbing Muramasa Rebirth as well. I just realized, going through my download list, I have 40 games ready to go for the Vita. That is intense. Tuesday can't come fast enough (getting the bundle that day).

And unless I'm stopped, I may buy more! Anyone think Ground Zeroes might go on sale soon? I've been holding off expecting a sale - PS4 version btw.
 
Really want to buy Y's but I am having trouble adding funds to my PSN wallet. It keeps saying my credit card info is wrong. Anyone know of this issue?
 
Sales like this are truly dangerous... I owned (and sold) both ToS and it's sequel on my GCN/Wii with zero regrets. I didn't like them nearly as much as any other tales game. I also know these are crappy 30fps ports... but for $10 my mind keeps going "But you might want to play them again!"

Absolutely insidious.

I think part of the problem though is regardless of how innocent these games actually are Gust themselves HAVE gotten pretty low. Namely Ar Tonelico III, that one got a lot of crap for some of the stuff it had, so even if it's unfair to Atelier to lump them with the likes of Neptunia it's not the same story for Ar Tonelico III.

Ar Tonelico, at least the last one (I assume they're all pretty warped) is some cringe worthy stuff for sure. I'll go to bat for Atelier games but the rest of Gust can pretty much rot.
 
Wow, Hot Shots Golf 6 Portable and Console is a night and day difference in terms of presentation. I'm liking the console version but having to regrind unlocks is a bit disappointing.

Still, Stump: I think it's worth $10 if you have HSG5. For one, you get a bigger player pool in playing online/international daily tournaments with (console/portable) than HSG5's dwindling player population. And if you get the portable version as well you get a few benefits online and in-game in terms of "shop sale" so your grind isn't as long.

Maybe you're adding random unnecessary apostrophes in the middle of your name when you try to enter your credit card info.

Double check your billing address. People often forget that if they move or something, the card may still be tied to an old address.

I've seen a handful of people who liked the first two AT games express disappointment with AT3 and part of that was the skevvy factor. Not that I don't doubt the first two were ahead of the Atelier games there, but AT3 getting an M says it all.

Maybe under TK the prequel will be cleaner?

Totori. Meruru is the last part and the quality gap isn't the crazy extreme it was for Rorona/Totori from all I've heard. May as well play in order and get the references.

Someone talk me into/ out of buying Totori. I've never played any of the Atelier games, currently still making my way through P4G and have multiple RPGs in the backlog (Ys, FFiV and IX from the previous FF sale, Vagrant story, CT and CC from this sale) yet I'm still mildly interested in trying out Totori......but price point of $20 is quite a ways above impulse buy. Should I just jump the gun or wait it out and hope there'll be another sale at some point while I whittle down my rpg backlog?

The main reason I'm going to go for it is because they're digital only and, unless I'm wrong, I don't think I've ever really seen them on sale. So it's probably the best time to give it a go
 
so guys tell about tales of syphonia

what's so good about it? My fav rpgs are Xenogeras, ff7, 8, 9 and 10, chrono cross etc will i like that game? haven't really played a tales game before

The original reason it was so good was because it was one of only a tiny handful of RPGs for Gamecube, and thus overhyped. The game is full of the things that make many jrpgs bad (tons of made up words that they bombard you with near immediately, badly choreographed scenes/bad model direction, etc).

That said, for $10 for it and it's sequel, it's a good price. There is a ton of content and the combat is at least adequate if not great even by tales standards.
 
It is done... The vita has been purchased... my fate was sealed to order it sooner versus later once I bought P4G in this sale... F you Sony... I tried to get away but you reeled me right back in!

Now just to figure out how I can scrounge up a bit more money to further take advantage of this sale before it's over.

Just added vagrant story to my list. Didn't know it was cheap.

Thinking about chrono trigger if the fast loading does make a difference. I have played the SNES version but would like it on my Vita. I have the PS1 disc version but if fast load really makes a big difference then may triple dip

Ok PS GAF I have these games in the cart as I type and I need to know what games do you honestly think I can do without and what games need to be bought since you'll never know the next time they'll get a discount like this:

Altogether it's $64 even. However, I feel like Ys might go lower in the year and Battle of Z just might not hve enough content to warrant spending that much money so it could be taken off or replaced with something cheaper. DAMN THESE SALES SONY!

Yup as long as I've waited to get Muramasa on the cheap. I'm not going to bite on this sale, they showed their hand already and it is very likely to be on the Plus game collection soon. So I'm walking away with just these:

I'm buying about a third of that list..

Although I kinda wish the Record of Agarest War series went on sale too.. at least RoAW1. Not complaining though.
 
Bought Tales. I played the shit out of that game when I was in high school. One of my most played jrpgs of all time for sure. I must have finished it at least 4-5 times. Can't wait to revisit it and to play the sequel for the first time.

Would have been all over P4G if I had a vita. :(
 
Hmm... I haven't played an Armored Core game in ages (like PS1 ages). Is the one on sale here worth it?

Just be wary... I talked myself into getting it because it's a good sale even knowing I didn't have a Vita (again) yet... And a day after convincing myself to buy it on sale, I convinced myself I had to buy a vita again immediately. Sigh, the next couple days for shipping are going to be rough.

My 32gb card is already full of vita stuff (most of which I've not played yet) with more PS+ games I've "purchased" but never installed still remaining and I don't really want to go through the hassle of figuring out what to delete.

First world problems. They need cheaper / larger memory cards.

If you WILLINGLY bought Time and Eternity, then you have no excuse not to get Ys, regardless of your financial standings. You need to balance the universe bro, and only a Ys game (on sale) can fix that (in this case).

EDIT: Oh and just to add, Ys games RARELY go on sale on US PSN.

Console only. Not cross-buy.Two trophy lists, same for each. But buying both gives a slight (SLIGHT!) benefit to you.
