Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 7: How Can My Smash Brother Be This Cut

OT, but the whole "she's really two thousand years old so it's not statutory!" trope is the dumbest thing ever.

I'm surprised that no one complained about it here. I never noticed it until now but I don't really care anyway.

Like I care about a bit of clipping. Dead or Alive 5 has characters clipping through each other in every single grab, sometimes to the amout where you can't even make out individual bodies anymore.

Compared to that Marth's cape is truly insignificant.

You never see the entire concept art in the game, so I just pretend its white cloth

Wait a second Toxi.....
HEY
HEY
I'M WATCHING YOU

I forgive, but I do not forget ....

Btw, Toxi, you never answered my question.

How long do you have to wear that avatar?

Imagine if the run ends in the middle of the battle with Wallace.

Forever and a day.

Only comes off if a miracle happens.

What's the miracle that happened?
:P

Samus's arm cannon clips into her chest in her idle pose. I think I can survive a tail-through-cape clip.

I never said the miracle had to be Twitch Plays Pokemon related.

There's no damn way you, yourself managed to do this
No way
That has to be a screenshot on the internet

I didn't beat Chris, I beat Tigger.

I consider that miracle enough, since I'm nowhere close to beating Chris. I'll take a screenshot of the victory screen if I do.

And Homerun Derby Christopher Robin would be horribly imbalanced. He can zone like a motherfucker.

I made it to Tigger after about 1.5 hours, but I wasn't motivated to deal with Tiggers invisible bullshit that evening. Didn't continue yet.
EDIT: Would you look at that, the site actually saved my game. Time to fail

From what I've heard hardware space, the thing that takes up the most room is sound. Does that mean Smash 3DS won't constrain Smash Wii U's character selection too much, since it's stripping out most of the music?
I made it to the owl I think, or Tiger but that was after 74847747755 attempts but damn was that game addicting

the dbz gif mash up was the best

Was anyone else blown away by this even before the Greninja reveal? The Smash aesthetic doing CGI cutscenes with a high budget just looks soooooo gooooood. Samus especially now that all her green conduits are illuminated, good lord. Charizard's simpler design looked like straight-up motion comic art. Like, 2D stuff brought to life.

I feel the same way.

I think Ephraim should get the 3rd FE slot since it seems like they are now really taking note of all the heroes within the lore and Marth, Ike, Ephraim would be a lot cooler than Chrom. Unless Chrom is in as Grand Lord +

You realized sacred stones was one of the worst received fire emblems games ya? Don't ever expect anyone from that game to appear in smash beyond brawl's stickers

These are the only FE characters who deserve to be playable:

Marth - the original protagonist, and he’s starred in four Fire Emblems altogether
Ike - starred in Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn, representing both the GameCube and Wii
Chrom - starred in Awakening, which is the best-selling entry in the history of the series

Fire Emblem shouldn't have four characters, and nobody else comes close to matching those three in terms of overall recognition and importance.

You can make the same argument for Robin that you can for Chrom.

Not if that argument takes into account Awakening's box art, promotional art, the official fan poll, and the Monster Hunter crossover. They're both important characters, but Chrom is a much better representative for Smash Bros. He's the "face" of Awakening.

I 100% agree, however it's kinda dull that all 3 are sword users. Not saying that chrom can't have a unique fighting style 100% different from the other two, but it would be nice if a main protagonist for fire emblem actually used magic.

I'm blindly hoping that more unique gameplay would win over marketing but I think they will go for Chrom anyway. Robin is the only contender I can see though, I don't think any secondary characters from FE will ever really have a shot.

Robin is screwed by the fact he's a custom character that can look completely different depending on how you design him/her. The villagers all generally look the same which helps them out

Aren't Ike's games amont the worst-selling in the franchise? That would be a good reason for choosing anyone else.

Ultimately, this "such character deserves being in the game more than this other character" is a pointless discussion.

Well, it's actually a little tough since Chrom's fighting style is said to be a little similar to Ike's and his strongest move is Aether.

I would say that the Avatar character is by far the most remarkable thing about FE-A (that can be incorporated into smash) and it also marks a first in the series and would be the most interesting, exciting and unique enter from that game when it's all said and done.

But I guess that's just me, we shall see if Sakurai thinks going for the run-of-the-mil poster boy blue haired sword dude for the 3 slot is more interesting than putting in the MC Avatar that can be customized like WFT.

(Speaking of WFT they can pull that female swap model with FE as well)

Would be cool if we got this:
nfxoJ7i.png

A hooded Robin. That's what they used to promote the game and I believe they used it in one of the cut scenes.

I wonder who Intelligent System suggests and who Sakurai will choose. Sakurai did ask them for suggestions regarding what FE characters he can use in Melee and Brawl right?

And his/her final smash could be you know what.

Robins all pretty much look the same, the villagers can have different hair/eyes too, they just need to settle on a face and have a female alt. The hair colors could easily be alt colors.

I just want a heavy magic user but I'm ready for the inevitable Chrom.

Simple, don't change the height ... just leave it as skinny girl/ boy and more manly/ womenly shape for the body. Face and hair aren't a problem from there.

My favorite game of all time is Team Fortress 2 so I'm very, very used to items clipping with each other.

I agree... mostly. I'm not 100% sure about Lucina right now. While I think Chrom is more likely (gematsu + general consensus), Lucina is pretty important for Awakening as well.

Agreed about Robin. Seeing Robin any other way but my own would be weird. Isn't canonical Robin white-haired? On the upside, if Robin was in there could be a WFT situation with both male and female reps.

Yes, I believe IS and GF are asked for suggestions or a list.

Why are we judging series worth again?

Cause these is a Smash topic, where it's widely accepted that KI should have 2 reps with it's grand total of 3 games over 25 years yet no one cares that Wario, one of the staple character IPs that Nintendo likes to milk, only has one.

It all adds up to a tear drop in a bucket at the end of the day so ehh.

I was going to complain about it, or rather, point it out, but it's not getting fixed ('tis a technical necessity to have it clip through the cape, I suppose) and it'll just annoy me the more I think about it.
