The true power of the WiiU: Moustache Wobble

Not only moustache wobble; eye tracking for blue shells too:

"Not this crap again"

I have an IRL mustache and to be honest it doesn't really wobble when I move. Sometimes I get mustache bedhead, and a lot of food gets stuck in it, but honestly it doesn't move very much. I've been on rollercoasters.

canned jump animation

No way the hair was done by an animator, unless they just have no sense of timing. Plus you don't hand animate hair like that when you've got jumps and drops of varying heights and velocities to take into account.

Edit: Post above me is a good example.

I've rarely seen evidence of Nintendo leaving their stuff up to ragdoll physics. Even the balloons in Animal Crossing are predefined animations. I think the first AC had physics with the balloons and balls, but ever since then and the log roll it's been canned. Can't think of another game that has ragdoll.

Hair is physics base instead of canned

It's the fucking weird teeth, the creepy smile and the bulging eyes, I like it, makes him look like a crazy ape, as he should be.

Yes, thank you so much for this gif

The cases you mentioned don't need physics, they're completely suited to hand animation. But the reason nintendo don't often use physics is because it's artistically inferior. Physics based movement lacks specific timing, and so it's only preferable in cases where hand animation isn't realistically possible, like when it has to be dynamic for gameplay reasons or has to react independently to ever changing forces.

It's so cute seeing Nintendo fans being amazed with all these new graphical features. Like your mom being amazed with that 99$ smartphone while you enjoy your Nexus 5.

Yep, mustaches are overrated. They are uncomfortable, unattractive, they're all over your lips and do not sway gracefully in the wind, unless you're waluigi IRL

What are you using to remove lettering? I'm having to cut corners literally.

I'm not sure what you mean by lettering, but I just use gifcam. Really simple to use.

you know what's also cute? the fact you took a tongue in cheek topic, with tongue in cheek answers and felt the need to post this asinine crap

Yeah. Nintendo seems OCD in that regard, hence I believe it's hand animated.

It's more like we're amazed at all the graphical features that will be in a game that we know is actually going to be a good, fun game with quality gameplay features.

Is very funny that you started with a very tame response and needed to edit it for a full vitriolic one. lol

Calm down warrior, harder battles are ahead.

Like plenty other cases on non Nintendo consoles.

I just found amusing people going all giddy for basic physics on MK8 while we had a new amazing trailer for Driveclub, which is an incredible showcase for next gen.

No doubt MK8 is a truly beautiful game, but in some ways is like going back years in terms of reactions to certain graphical achivements. Is truly amusing in a good way.

Donkey Kong looks fucking nuts in this game, Jesus Christ. And in Smash too, for that matter. Why can't they get him right hahaha
