Depth comes from presenting a player with multiple options to consider. If a technical skill is 98% of the time the best option, there's no depth there, just a requirement to entry.

Wavedashing isn't remotely a requirement either, unless the discussion shifted to L-Cancels and I missed that part.

Holy damn does Dillon look good. So much detail! Really is great character design and was very shocked to see such a new little series getting repped as an AT. That seems to open the way for Pushmo AT, etc.
