Edit: OT, I'm in the "want to be surprised at E3" camp. It's so hard to resist reading leaks but man it's so much better to see it on the E3 stage for the first time.

As for Mikami, I think his problem was more with Kutaragi than with SCE, can't really remember where I read it though

Anyways, both are real talented studios and we definitely need more of them. They prioritize gameplay systems over story and i respect that in today's industry.

Nah frame rate is a bad argument and only affects a minority of players. This is next gen. That is why people buy new systems.

I do think it looks good, or at least from the quality provided. My post was aimed towards people saying the fur was bad or textures are bad. Like, really? Are these people comparing 1080p Witcher 3 pics to these?
It's not like Platinum avoids cutscenes or stories. They just happen to be abominable.
It really sucks that just stating a preference has to come with an apology. A full framerate would be a huge boon to large boss encounters, but the instant screenshot appeal combined with CG is what really sells games.

I'm not saying they completely forego stories, but its pretty obvious that isn't at the top of their priorities when it comes to making games.
I actually find their cutscenes to be great.

I think the strafing in Dark Souls 1 looks a little bad at 30fps, and like shit at 60fps. Other than that the animations were pretty damn nice. Still haven't played Dark Souls 2 so I can't really speak on it, but I never liked the running or strafing from the very first piece of footage that was shown. Also, I'm so glad it's exclusive to the ps4 so it can be used to the team's fullest potential instead of having a lower bar to accommodate. They aren't really "technical wizards" as we like to call it, so it should help them to have one focus.

For some bizzare reason I always get From confused with Team ICO and I looked at the screens thinking this was a leak of The Last Guardian rebranding/change of direction, and I was really surprised with how dark and violent it looked. "Wow they turned Trico into an evil zombie dog...that's pretty fucking bold". But then I realized my mistake and it all made sense again...

Its hard to make a statement on graphics when we have such low quality shots.
At any rate, if you're playing souls games for the graphics then you're probably playing the wrong series. I miss my drag doll physics in DS2

There are a few parts where there are enemies around and it runs at 60FPS on PS3/360. The more open areas don't, though.
