The Tower of Latria is still one of my favorite levels from the last generation of consoles, probably ever. It just had such amazing atmosphere, the ringing from the squid faces bells was also a really nice touch, and of course The very final boss of that world was also a great moment in gaming.

This looks nothing like Shadow Tower Abyss, which were first person dungeon crawler type games. Why do you think they would make a sequel to that, when the Souls games are so hot right now?

Why wouldn't they? If they have enough people for two teams now, why not bring back an older series? Ain't no problem going from 1st person to 3rd person.

Shadow Tower is also pretty much contemporary King's Field/Souls and these screens could as well be in that setting.

btw. just finished Dark Souls 2 and the score at the ending stated it's using Autodesk Beast (a lightning engine?) - made me chuckle

I love how excited and giddy ENB was. I really hope Sony shows more of this soon. I can't wait til e3!

Putting "Souls" anywhere in the title and stressing a relation to the two Souls series is instant sales. The fanbase for the Souls series is frickin rabid.

Call me crazy but I have a feeling they might try and make it different from the other Souls games and the best way to do that would be to ditch the Souls name and the whole Souls mechanic.


Then again those screens scream souls so if it looks like a souls game and plays like a souls game then yeah, call it Beast's Soul's and call it a day.

Would be pretty nutty for FROM to make 3 completely new IP's that are all basically the exact same.

That was true of DICE last year.

It made a lot of sense for DICE to go 60 fps because:

1. their direct competitor, which is also more popular, runs at 60fps and uses that as a bulletpoint
2. they are tech wizards who can make games at 60 fps while still being visually very appealing. You can't say the same about From software.
3. Battlefield 4 is an online multiplayer shooter, not a slow based action game.
4. Battlefield 4 was a cross-gen game

I just can't see this being a fake at this point. Too many things adding up. Insider hints, familiar visual aspects that look to be a higher quality, the tendency of From to reveal current projects with the title 'Project (xxxxxxx)'. But maybe that's just my excitement and hope rationalizing.

I too think this is real but I find it really odd that no one wants to report it as a rumor even if they've already seen it.
It's weird how NDA's work.

I guess it could be inferred that if the only outlet regurgitating the rumor is a non gaming-centric place like Forbes, that it speaks volumes as to the silence coming from outlets that would undoubtedly know something a bit more like Giantbomb, Kotaku, Polygon, Eurogamer, etc...
