Microsoft E3 2014 predictions

Prediction: majority of the show will be on Xbox Originals, footage of Quantum Break and Sunset Overdrive, Forza Horizon 2 and Halo 2 Anniversary announced, with Halo 5 confirmed to miss 2014.

Also I sense that MS will have some sort of huge betrayalthon type announcement this year as well. Maybe an exclusive Final Fantasy or FF content or maybe RE.

You think the majority of the show it's going to be centered on television shows?

I also seem to be forgetting that D4 has all but disappeared, so it may have a presence in this conference yet again.

Both series have been multiplatform for quite a while now, so I don't see that being too impactful. Hell, the 3DS had an exclusive Resident Evil for a while there and the PSP has an exclusive Final Fantasy, it could happen pretty easily, I think, with the right funding contract. The Dreamcast had an exclusive Resident Evil, too! And the Gamecube! On the betrayalthon scale, that ranks like a 2/10 :p

This would not surprise me at all, sorry :p

easy dude... its been 6 months. consoles generations sells for 10 years..

look xbox360/ps3, ps3 is still more expensive then xbox and now has more world sales.

And who asked MS to launch at 500$ ?

And who asked for Kinect?

If it's not 350$ with Kinect and a game packed in, I'm not buying it. Period.

Maybe I'll reconsider in 2-3 more years.
I hope investors don't mind if many consumers just wait several years.

10 year console cycle means I have no reason to buy anytime soon, unless I had money to wipe my back side with, in which I don't.

Sorry MS, you F'd up too hard too much.
I already made my choice and bought the PS4

I know it won't. But it would be a way for MS to not have to take as big of a $ hit as they would if they didn't have a $500 SKU... especially if both of them will still have kinect inside the box.

How many will buy that 1TB SKU at $500? 500GB is enough for most people, and by fall, XB1 will have external HDD support and 500GB (even 2TB) external drives are still cheaper than $150.

Price cut to $399.99 (w/ Kinect)

Halo 2 Anniversary
Sunset Overdrive Gameplay Demo
Quantum Break Gameplay Demo
Forza Horizon 2 Announcement
Halo 5 Gameplay Demo (and release date September 2015)
Witcher 3 Gameplay Demo
Killer Instinct Season 2 teaser
Gears of War 4 Teaser Trailer
Crackdown 3 Announcement

Yusuf Medhi comes out and talks about TV/Apps/etc.

At the end of the conference they show Cod: Advanced Warfare gameplay demo

Price cut on 360 to $99

If this happens (to a model with a >4GB HDD), I may very well be a 360 owner again.

As for my predictions, that's hard to say -- they are in such a wild card position, they could either have nothing at all, or hidden megatons. I would guess they'd double-down on their flagship franchises (Halo, Gears) and push TV-related aspects of the XB1. A price drop is possible, but I don't know -- I would think the loss per console would not be very attractive to them if they cut it too much.

What if SE has not plans for FF7 HD remake, them MS went to them said we will pay for whole development It jus has to be a timed exclusive(for 6 months) how would Gaf react.

I personally think it would be golden to see how people would react to it

RE7 is rumored to be XB1 exclusive.

Capcom would not be that stupid. They pump millions into that series and have the majority of their developers working on the RE series.

The RE series is very popular in Japan (even on consoles) so they would not risk that.

Not even remotely sure who created that rumor.

All I really want to see from them is D4. I need more on that game because Deadly Premonition was phenomenal! Absolutely magnificent!

I'm also curious about Quantum Break because I loved Alan Wake and while I would just want Alan Wake 2, I guess I'll have to settle for what Remedy is actually working on.

Also, kind of curious about the next Gears. I don't play Gears any more and never touched Judgment, but I would like to see what they do with the franchise, though I doubt that will be talked about at this E3. If anything it would be an incredibly vague teaser.

I'll try to keep it realistic...

Sunset Overdrive stage demo
Quantum Break stage demo with a look at the live action story telling
Horizon 2 announcement trailer, playable at the show
Halo 2 Anniversary announcement trailer, possibly playable at show
D4 re-reveal with a firm release date (this will also double as the Kinect stage demo)
Killer Instinct S2 announced
Exclusive Indie games (timed or otherwise) announced with some from first party studios
Halo 5 tease with beta announcement

What I hope we'll see, but probably won't...

Crackdown 3
Project Nagano
Jet Force Gemini 2/HD remake of the first
Blast Corps using GeoMod 2.0
Perfect Dark
Otogi 3
State of Decay 2/Class 4
Bloodwake 2

Quantum Break on stage demo
Gears of War teaser (no gameplay, like the Halo one)
Halo 5 story teaser, few seconds of gameplay maybe
A solid Kinect game
Call of Duty presentation
EA Sports presentation, Kinect features in next batch of sport games
A revived franchise gameplay trailer
Sunset Overdrive gameplay
Titanfall DLC trailer + live action teaser
Xbox Original Programming round up
Some Indies
Price drop of $50
White console available at Crimbo

Phil Spencer wearing 3 watches instead of 2, symbolizing how he's moved up since last year.

Also extensive gameplay of Sunset Overdrive and Quantum Break, loads of Halo, and probably using up stage time that could've been used for more exclusives on CoD:AW. I really don't get why they do that.

This is pretty accurate I guess. Probably won't happen in that order though.

They will have a better lineup of TV shows than Sony and Nintendo combined.
They'll announce some new game they bought off a third party publisher that was intended as a multi platform title.

I really want your wishlist part to be true, and I really hope your "realistic" part isn't all we'll get :(

I really do think (and hope) we'll see one or two brand new "Microsoft-funded" games like Dead Rising 3 and Sunset Overdrive.

For one, it sells consoles and software.

For two, it's probably part of the contract with Activision.

Continue to make themselves look like douchebags giving tons of interviews about how gamers didn't understand their message and that's why they didn't get an xb1

25% as many games as you think their will be.

It wasn't terrible but it wasn't close to the best E3 anyone's ever had.

If you can think of another conference where we saw nothing but core games, many of which had not been previously been announced, I will honestly be surprised.

The pre-scripted fighting game banter was the only thing that made me go "come on, seriously?" They didn't even have casual crap there. Just gamesgamesgamesgamesgamesnothingbutgames.

The bad stuff surrounded the event. Bad marketing, bad messaging, bad plans. But the event itself was the best I've ever seen, because it ticked all the right boxes.

How much time does CoD showing (gameplay, DLC announcement...) usually take in MS E3 conference? 5-10 min?

I think it's more about diversity in their lineup to appeal to US gamers than appealing to Japan. Xbox is going to flop over there, and it's not worth the money for MS to go after it.

I said it before If Japan don't want them I will take them!

That never happens, but there was a good reason why -- Microsoft was merciful enough to get the bullshit out of the way a month before.

I personally think it was a great idea; Whether it was reactive or not to the feeback to the awful reveal doesn't really matter, IMO.

H2A gameplay
Halo 5 reveal/full trailer of some sort
Sunset Overdrive gameplay
Quantum Break gameplay
20 mins of kinect (D4) and indies
Horizon 2 trailer/gameplay
TV show stuff
Gears of War cgi trailer
And I'm feeling that they will reveal an old IP from the OG Xbox

Yeah, I agree that there will probably be a couple of 'MS funded' titles there too. I'd love for one of them to be a resurrection of Chromehounds using Azure, but that's even more of a pipe dream than Otogi 3.

I'd love to see a partnership with Itakagi and Valhalla announced. Devil's Third as well as funding for a spiritual successor to Ninja Gaiden.

We won't see RE7 as an exclusive, timed or otherwise. It might have exclusive DLC, but I have my doubts about that well.

All I can say is that I love your pipe dreams :p

Platinum exclusive game
Devil's Third published by Microsoft
new Lionhead IP (Eden Falls?)
new Twisted Pixel IP
Halo 2 HD
Halo 5 tease
Fable Legends
Quantum Break
Sunset Overdrive
Battletoads
Crackdown 3
Forza Horizon 2
Killer Instinct Season 2

Good grief. If just a fraction of this happened, it'd be a damn good showing.

Well, there's very little non already announced games in that list, most of them already are or have been teased for quite a time now.
But yeah, i'd settle for half of that (the one with the most RPGs).
